Remember, he was not only one of the stars, but also the film’s director. His absence from promotions, and the clear disinterest in discussing him, was very conspicuous. “It’s amazing to me how low people still go,” Reynolds remarked in the texts. “But people are already coming forward,” he continued “and soon enough someone is just gonna go on record.” It seems that at the time, he and Lively had not yet reached the decision to file a claim against Baldoni. ‘The really smart folks already know’ Colleen Hoover responded in agreement — but she also shared her perspective with Reynolds about Lively’s online critics. “It’s mind-blowing,” Hoover echoed. “But,” she continued, “also I feel like the loud ones are mostly 13-year-olds who don’t have fully developed brains yet and will be mortified by their thought process a few years from now.” As with other, similar cases, a tremendous number of people online have come forward to admit that they regretted being hoodwinked by online caricatures of Lively. “Good to hear it’s already beginning to skew away from him,” Hoover added, another apparent reference to Baldoni. “Surprising it’s mostly girls,” Reynolds remarked. Many expect misogyny to spread most by and among men, but patriarchy is more insidious than that. “At least, that’s what I’ve seen.” He continued: “And the really smart folks already know. Although the narrative at the moment is how insanely well the film is performing and how much audiences love it. So…” A source close to Reynolds spoke to Page Six, saying: “It is no secret that Ryan was trying to protect his wife, who was being targeted by a crisis PR team hired by Baldoni.” The source added: “This is the same crisis team who has been accused of these smear tactics in at least 5 other lawsuits according to the NYT.” Though this was from over two years ago, these texts are from the height of the hate campaign against Lively. A newly released body camera video shows the aftermath, and clearly lends insight into the 6-year-old alleged shooter’s mental state. The harrowing video shows the small child screaming and cursing. Even as he identifies where the firearm is, he threatens to fight the police officers. (Photo Credit: Jay Paul/Getty Images) ‘I don’t care if I go to jail’ On January 6, 2023, students and faculty at Richneck Elementary School in Newport News, Virginia were still celebrating the New Year. Then, a child allegedly shot his teacher, Abigail Zwerner. As another teacher restrained the 6-year-old, emergency responders raced to the scene. The disturbing, newly released bodycam footage shows an officer ask: “Where is the weapon?” “It’s over there,” the child seemingly answers in the video. “If you want a piece of me, come it all, b–ch.” “My mom had that,” the 6-year-old announced, in reference to the weapon. He then declared: “I stole that from my mom.” His clear emotional disturbance appeared to worsen as officers processed the scene. “Both of y’all want a f–king piece of me, b–ches,” the 6-year-old yelled. “I don’t care if you call backup,” he defiantly told officers. “I don’t care if I go to jail.” Attorneys representing the school board argue that a teacher shot by a 6-year-old student is only entitled to file a worker’s compensation claim because the injury she sustained is a “workplace injury” and the shooting was a hazard of the job [image or embed] — Phil Lewis (@phillewis.bsky.social) August 12, 2023 at 4:00 PM There was a civil suit, but someone else faced criminal charges When the shooter fired, the bullet pierced the teacher’s hand before lodging in her chest. Zwerner survived, but doctors advised her that they would have to leave the bullet in her chest. Removal was simply too risky. There was a civil trial against Ebony Parker, the school’s former assistant principal. The jury found that Parker had ignored warning signs that the child had a gun in his backpack. Zwerner was awarded $10 million plus interest in damages. Parker was initially charged with criminal neglect, but the judge threw out the case — citing that she had committed no crime under Virginia law. The 6-year-old’s face is blurred in video — by court order — and, for obvious reasons, his name is withheld. However, the mother is Deja Taylor, who was arrested after the shooting on stage charges of felony child neglect and a federal weapons charge. She was sentenced to two years for child neglect and 21 months for the federal charge. Given the child’s actions, disposition, and vocabulary, this terrible crime appears to be a product of his environment. There were multiple stages at which a shooting like this might be prevented. The most important would have been to address whatever would make a 6-year-old behave in a manner that usually only the most disturbed and volatile adults would. Mike Ditka, the Hall of Fame tight end who led the Chicago Bears to a Super Bowl championship as head coach, has died at 86. Known for his fiery personality, blunt opinions, and larger-than-life presence, Ditka was one of the most recognizable figures in NFL history. Born in Pennsylvania in 1939, Ditka played college football at the University of Pittsburgh before the Bears selected him with the fifth overall pick in the 1961 NFL Draft. He immediately made an impact, recording more than 1,000 receiving yards during his rookie season. Ditka went on to play for Chicago, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Dallas Cowboys, winning an NFL championship with the Bears in 1963 and a Super Bowl with Dallas in 1972. In 1988, he became the first tight end inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. But Ditka’s greatest achievement arguably came when he returned to Chicago as head coach in 1982. The Bears were searching for a championship, and Ditka delivered one of the most memorable seasons in NFL history. Chicago finished the 1985 regular season with a 15-1 record before dismantling the New England Patriots 46-10 in Super Bowl XX. The victory cemented the team’s place in football history, while Ditka became one of the most celebrated coaches in the sport. Ditka’s demanding coaching style and willingness to speak his mind made him a fixture in sports headlines long after his time on the sidelines ended. He coached the Bears through 1992 before taking over the New Orleans Saints. The Bears eventually honored their former coach by retiring his No. 89 jersey in 2013, recognizing his extraordinary contributions to the franchise. In December he will become the first person executed by the US military in more than 60 years. And according to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, the general public will be able to watch the execution via livestream. (Photo by Andrew Harnik/Getty Images) Speaking with conservative outlet Real America’s Voice, Hegseth made clear that the administration intends to make the execution public. “We’ll make sure that people are able to watch it, that it’s public,” he said (via The Hill), explaining that he believes people need to understand the consequences of committing such crimes. A Pentagon official subsequently confirmed that the execution would be livestreamed. The announcement raises significant questions about the government’s decision to make an execution available for public viewing, particularly given how unusual such a move would be in modern American history. Hasan was convicted of killing 13 people and injuring 32 others during the November 2009 attack at the Texas military installation. The former Army major opened fire on soldiers at a medical processing center, making the incident one of the deadliest shootings ever to occur on a U.S. military base. During his 2013 court-martial, Hasan represented himself and acknowledged that he was responsible for the attack. He was convicted on 45 counts of premeditated murder and attempted premeditated murder and sentenced to death. President Donald Trump approved the execution earlier this week, following Hegseth’s recommendation. Blanchard shared that she believed, based upon what investigators had found at the scene, that he had died of an overdose. (She shared that she had not known Urker to be a substance abuser. He was an intentional partner and father to their child, she emphasized at the time.) Blanchard immediately highlighted the vicious attacks that he had endured on social media. Michael Kearns, the groundbreaking actor, director, and LGBTQ+ activist who challenged the industry’s treatment of gay performers and people living with HIV, has died. He was 76. (Photo by Valerie Macon/Getty Images) Kearns passed away on October 5, according to longtime friend Karen Ocamb, who shared the news with the Los Angeles Blade. A cause of death has not been publicly disclosed. While Kearns appeared in popular television shows including Cheers and Beverly Hills, 90210, his legacy extends far beyond his acting credits. He was among the entertainment industry’s earliest openly gay performers and spent decades fighting for LGBTQ+ visibility. Kearns came out publicly in the 1970s, when being open about one’s sexuality could seriously damage an actor’s career. He made another courageous decision in 1991 when he revealed that he was HIV-positive, helping challenge the stigma surrounding the virus. At a time when many people feared the professional and personal consequences of disclosing an HIV diagnosis, Kearns chose to speak publicly about his experience. His advocacy became a defining part of his career. And he wasn’t content to make a difference in Hollywood alone. In 1986, Kearns directed the world premiere of Robert Chesley’s Jerker at Los Angeles’ Celebration Theatre. The play follows two gay men who form a connection through a phone-sex line. Its sexually explicit content sparked controversy after excerpts were broadcast on the radio, igniting a debate over censorship and LGBTQ+ representation. Kearns also performed in solo productions inspired by the AIDS epidemic, including Intimacies and More Intimacies. Through his theater work, he helped tell stories about people whose experiences were frequently ignored by mainstream entertainment. His activism included co-founding Artists Confronting AIDS and establishing QueerWise, a spoken-word collective. He also authored books about acting and theater. Kearns’ personal life included profound heartbreak. He married Philip Juwig in 1992, but Juwig died later that year. Three years later, Kearns adopted a daughter, Katherine, becoming a single father at a time when gay men living with HIV faced considerable prejudice. The actor’s willingness to live openly, both personally and professionally, made him an important figure in LGBTQ+ history. Kearns was scheduled to return to Celebration Theatre on October 11 for an event celebrating LGBTQ+ theater history. It is only natural that, in this time of economic crisis, robberies are becoming more bold, more violent, and more desperate. Though there is only so much that (hopefully) future Mayor Nithya Raman can do on the local level, we have already seen how much crime has gone down in New York City over a matter of months under Mayor Mamdani. Policies can improve lives and heal communities. TMZ reports that the two men who approached and robbed Allen were wearing all black. One pointed a handgun at the actor’s face while the other menaced him with a knife. They demanded his watch and bracelet before fleeing with his Rolex. The gunman struck Allen in the face, resulting in the nasty bloody gash. These two malefactors then fled in a vehicle. Allen contacted police. Paramedics treated him for the laceration, but reportedly did not transport him to the hospital. This sounds horrifying. We hope that the perpetrators are caught. During the current season of The Challenge, Cory was shown getting flirty with castmate Izzy Fairthorne while acknowledging that things were not going well at home. “Izzy is very attractive,” Cory said on the show. “Back home hasn’t been great. … To come on this show and to have that magnet with somebody, it feels good.” That footage understandably did not exactly make Cory look like Boyfriend of the Year. After the episode aired, Cory apologized and took responsibility for his behavior, calling himself “selfish” and saying he planned to seek therapy. Taylor had already hinted at relationship problems in August, telling followers that she had feelings about the situation but wasn’t ready to discuss them publicly. Now, it seems she has made her feelings pretty clear. One photo showed Travis with his 20-year-old daughter, Alabama Barker, while another featured his wife, Kourtney Kardashian, giving him a kiss as he recovered in his hospital bed. Travis said his arm, hand, and fingers had been numb since a Blink-182 performance the previous month. After undergoing a nerve test, doctors determined that he needed a cubital tunnel release to address the problem. Rather than risk the issue interfering with his career down the road, Travis decided to take care of it immediately. “I wanted to get ahead of it and get it over with so that I can keep playing the way I play for a long, long time,” he explained. And that’s really the important part here. Travis is a drummer. His hands are kind of important. Fortunately, the rocker expects to be back behind the kit within a few weeks. “Should be good in a few weeks,” he added. Travis also shared another photo from the hospital featuring Kourtney, who appeared to be considerably more cheerful about the situation than one might expect. “Not sure why my wife looks so happy about this ,” Travis joked. Honestly, Kourtney probably deserves a little credit for keeping the mood light. This isn’t Travis’ first serious issue involving his hands. In 2023, he injured his left ring finger while rehearsing with Blink-182, dislocating it and tearing the ligaments. That injury eventually required surgery as well. “I couldn’t continue to play the drums without it,” Travis explained at the time. So while the latest hospital visit understandably caused some concern among fans, it appears Travis was being proactive rather than facing another major health crisis. And considering how much he clearly intends to keep pounding away on those drums, getting the problem fixed now was probably the smart move. Patricia Krenwinkel — who was convicted of murder in 1969 for her role in the Tate-LaBianca murders — was granted parole on a preliminary basis this week. Now, one man stands between Krenwinkel and freedom — California governor Gavin Newsom. But this is the third time they’ve done so, and the 78-year-old is still behind bars. The reason? Newsom used his power as governor to veto her release on both prior occasions. He’s not the only thing standing in her way this time. But after the Board of Parole Hearings approves Krenwinkel’s parole — which it likely will — Newsom could secure her release with a stroke of his pen. Unfortunately for Krenwinkel, the timing couldn’t be much worse. We’re just weeks away from midterm elections that might cripple the Trump administration for the rest of its time in office. And Newsom has almost certainly set his sights on a White House run in 2028. Releasing a high-profile inmate like Krenwinkel would be playing right into the hands of Republicans who seek to portray the presidential hopeful as soft on crime. And since Newsom already vetoed Krenwinkel’s release twice, it seems almost certain that he’ll do so a third time under these tense circumstances. Sadly, the political concerns are now overshadowing the more pertinent questions raised by this situation. Should an elderly woman remain locked up for the rest of her days because of atrocities she committed in her youth? And if the Manson murderers were under the thrall of a master manipulator, were they fully responsible for their crimes? At the end of the day, Krenwinkel was involved in the murders of innocent people, and she absolutely had a profound debt to repay to society. But the recent botched execution of Christa Pike has sparked a renewed debate over prisoners and death row inmates who are still paying for crimes committed in their youth many decades later. After reports on his luxurious lifestyle behind bars emerged, the disgraced rapper ended up thrown into solitary. Now, the Bureau of Prisons has updated his scheduled release. According to Bureau of Prisons (BOP) records, Sean “Diddy” Combs will no longer be getting out on January 21, 2028. That was his previously scheduled release from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. Instead, his federal release date has been pushed back to March 2, 2028. On paper, that’s a difference of two months. More realistically, it’s one month and some change. To someone who has lost their freedom and dignity (though whether this applies to Combs is debatable), it could feel like an eternity. In late September, NBC News was the first to report that, behind bars, Combs was living in relative luxury. Luxurious compared to his normal lifestyle? No. But compared to most people who work full-time jobs without being in prison, he had access to products and services that many simply cannot afford. Combs reportedly had people cooking and cleaning for him, personally, and giving him massages on demand. He apparently had access to a stash of premium liquor. There were photos, including some showing Combs with a contraband phone. He would reportedly use the phone to peruse social media and sexually explicit photos sent directly to him. From Hennessy to solitary In the wake of the report that Diddy is living in the lap of luxury behind bars, the prison took action. The disgraced rapper was confined to solitary. Most of us can agree that prisons are hellholes. Innocent people condemned to them do not deserve that. The vast majority of the guilty do not, either. It’s an indictment of our society that prisons are places of suffering and violence. However, it is very reasonable to not believe that someone accused of truly heinous crimes — a man captured beating his then-girlfriend on camera — should not be living the high life while most Americans struggle to pay their bills and purchase food. At the same time, prisons have to find a way to combat corruption without resulting to psychological torture — which is indisputably what solitary confinement becomes in short order. Combs’ actual conviction is only for two counts of transportation of sex workers for the purpose of prostitution. Between the things that we know about the rapper and the crimes of which he was accused, the jury only convicted him of the charge that should not even be a crime in the first place. (Sex work is work! Other charges identify sex workers as his victims, but the jury did not convict.) It’s clear that prosecutors dropped the ball on what should have been an open-and-shut case. It also seems likely that the conservative cultural shift that much of America went through in 2025 might have made jurors not take certain charges as seriously. Honestly, one could spend years dissecting the case — but it wouldn’t change the verdict. Combs received a sentence of merely 50 months. That’s barely over four years. Harsh for the charges on which he was convicted, but nothing compared to the allegations against him. But, hey, it appears that he’s managed to extend his own sentence with alleged bad behavior. The controversial brothers are once again asking a federal judge to let them out of jail as they fight extradition to the United Kingdom. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Andrew and Tristan filed a petition Wednesday seeking immediate release on bond. (Photo by Andrei Pungovschi/Getty Images) The brothers are currently being held at the Federal Detention Center in Miami while the U.S. considers the UK’s request to extradite them. And their lawyers have a few arguments for why they should be allowed to go home. The Tates claim prosecutors have failed to establish that either brother is a flight risk or a danger to the community. They also point out that neither has a criminal history in the United States and argue that they previously complied with court-imposed release conditions during their lengthy legal battles in Romania. Their attorneys are also challenging the legal basis for keeping them behind bars during the extradition process. The lawyers argue that the longstanding presumption against granting bail in extradition cases relies on an overly broad interpretation of a more than century-old Supreme Court decision. As an alternative to jail, the brothers’ legal team says electronic monitoring or home detention could ensure they appear for any future court proceedings. That’s certainly a lot more comfortable than their current accommodations. Andrew and Tristan have been held in a special housing unit at the Miami detention center since their July 18 arrests. Their attorneys claim the conditions are particularly restrictive, including limited recreation, limited commissary access, no television and only one phone call per month. The brothers were arrested after British authorities sought their extradition over allegations involving rape, sexual assault, human trafficking and other alleged sex offenses dating back to 2010. British prosecutors have since announced additional charges against both brothers, including allegations involving trafficking for sexual exploitation. Andrew and Tristan have denied the allegations. In recent weeks, new details about the case have emerged, including a claim that Andrew possessed explicit videos depicting children and animals. A new report details a short list of actors who might portray Dolly, including one name who has risen to the top. According to a report from RadarOnline, an insider says that Sabrina Carpenter, Sydney Sweeney, and Hilary Duff are names on the shortlist who might portray Dolly Parton. However, the alleged frontrunner in the minds of some is Carrie Underwood. “The truly global reaction to Dolly’s passing proves one thing: A properly mounted biopic of her life featuring her most famous music would be a massive success,” the source described. “And,” the insider continued, “her heirs have the opportunity to cement her legacy in grand fashion.” Most of us currently living will always remember Dolly. But a biopic could define her image for decades of future generations. “Of course, when Dolly was alive she used the medium of TV movies to extensively tell the story of her childhood,” the source acknowledged. “A big-screen treatment would focus firmly on Dolly’s adult career, her rise to fame and business success, and her unlikely Hollywood film career that began in the early ’80s,” the insider emphasized. The source then explained: “Carrie Underwood is one name that keeps coming up because of her similar personality and stage presence to Dolly.” (We’ll have to take their word on that.) “But there are plenty of other famous singer-actresses who could pull this off,” the insider acknowledged. “Ultimately, Dolly’s survivors will have the final say on who plays her,” the source noted. “But the first step for the family is to get the project set up and scripted under the supervision of a Hollywood studio.” There’s more to consider than who plays the lead, however In addition to casting the right actress, a Dolly Parton biopic would also need the right producer. “The top name there right now is Graham King, who made [Queen’s] Bohemian Rhapsody and the genre’s biggest financial hit, this year’s Michael,” the inside source mused. (Those are two of the most controversial biopics on the planet — one for its director and the other for glossing over the titular character’s controversies and alleged crimes against children.) “A movie covering Parton’s career has similar potential for success, but this kind of movie requires a careful touch,” the insider described. “There are no do-overs in this genre,” the source claimed without explaining. “And even Michael took more than four years and tons of reshoots to pull together a version of the movie that played well with fans around the world.” There’s one big name missing from that report: Dolly’s own goddaughter, Miley Cyrus. If you have ever seen them perform together, you know how well they could cover each other’s songs. Miley can act (Hannah Montana notwithstanding), and she can sing. She had a personal connection to Dolly all her life. That doesn’t speak to her acting or singing, but it’s a detail worth noting for any casting department. Sean Preston, 21, and Jayden James Federline, 19, both looked more handsome than ever alongside their famous mother in Dollywood. Britney shared a series of posts, some of which she shared on October 7, including videos from her visit. The centerpiece has to be the photo of her sandwiched between her sons as they pose in front of a Dollywood sign. Britney remained masked and less recognizable. And she’s so tiny beside her sons. In the caption of one Instagram post, Britney actually wrote to detail her family outing. “Wow wow!!!” she began. “I didn’t know this place existed,” Britney admitted. “So incredibly cool and exciting,” she praised. “But extremely hot and my skirt is too big for me.” Britney raved: “Family outings!!! DOLLYWOOD IS ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!!” She shared videos of her adventures, too Some may express surprise that Britney Spears didn’t know about Dolly Parton’s very own theme park. Dolly was a cultural institution unto herself. And Britney was a Louisiana girl from birth. But Britney’s childhood was not overly cultured even though she was a Mouseketeer. She was catapulted to stardom as a teen and then put to work even before her conservatorship. She missed out on learning a bunch of stuff. As for enjoying the theme park but not the weather … yeah, that’s Tennessee. That’s the American Southeast. Yes, it’s October. But the weather can still hit 80 or above, with high humidity that must feel suffocating to someone accustomed to the desert climate of Southern California. Other videos showed her riding a tilt-a-whirl, chatting with her sons, and saying “hi” to people who likely didn’t recognize her behind he mask. It’s the sign of a good theme park when people can endure hellish weather and have a great time regardless. As we said, her sons looked great, too. And it’s so sweet that they were able to enjoy a family outing together. (By the way, did you know that Sean and Jayden — perhaps especially Jayden — have kicked off their modeling careers?) And now, it looks as though the icons — who were born about 70 years apart — are actually related by blood. The study shows that the actresses are related through Sydney’s dad, Steven Sweeney, and Marilyn’s dad, Charles Stanley Gifford. Of course, if you go back far enough, just about everyone is related. And in the case of Sydney and Marilyn, you have to go back pretty freakin’ far. The actresses’ fathers are both descended from an early Massachusetts settler named Ezra Perry. Perry lived in the 1600s in Sandwich, Massachusetts, meaning Sweeney and Monroe have to travel quite a few branches down the family tree before they get to their connection. So, no, Sweeney isn’t exactly getting calls from Monroe’s immediate family. But the connection is legitimate, according to MyHeritage’s research. “People have always drawn parallels between Sydney Sweeney and Marilyn Monroe, but seeing their paths align on a deeper level inspired us to look for a real bond in the MyHeritage archives,” MyHeritage Director of Research Roi Mandel tells Page Six. “Uncovering their shared branch was incredible,” Mandel added, calling the discovery a reminder of how interconnected family trees can be. And considering how frequently Sweeney has channeled Monroe over the years, the news is almost suspiciously perfect. In February, Sweeney appeared at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival wearing a vintage Ceil Chapman gown that looked remarkably similar to the dress Monroe wore on the cover of Life magazine in 1952. Sweeney also gave fans some serious Monroe vibes at the Los Angeles premiere of The Housemaid in December 2025. The actress wore a custom white Galia Lahav gown that appeared to pay tribute to Monroe’s famous white dress from The Seven Year Itch. She also previously rocked a retro blonde bob at the Governors Awards that called to mind Monroe’s Gentlemen Prefer Blondes era. In other words, Sweeney has been doing the Marilyn thing for years. She just apparently didn’t know she had a family tree to back it up. The discovery also gives a little more weight to the comparisons made by people who have dubbed Sweeney a modern-day Monroe. Even Sweeney’s boyfriend, Scooter Braun, has reportedly embraced the comparison, with a source previously telling Page Six that he views her as the “modern Marilyn Monroe.” Sweeney has yet to publicly react to the genealogy discovery. But if Hollywood ever decides it needs another Marilyn Monroe biopic, casting directors may want to keep Sweeney’s phone number handy. For someone who didn’t really know how to bathe herself until she was married, many fans would say that she’s done okay as a mom. But even Joy’s diehard supporters are calling her out for endangering her 3-year-old. A look at her life showed little Gunner with a pretty infamous choking hazard. What is Joy thinking? (Image Credit: YouTube) How did Joy-Anna Duggar allegedly endanger her 3-year-old? Joy-Anna Duggar, who is pregnant with Baby #4, shared a “morning in my life” video. This was a supercut showing the less-than-glamorous first couple of hours of her day. Most of the morning routine was fully anodyne. If anything, it served as a warning to people who romanticize parenthood that their lives will no longer be their own. But we see Joy making breakfast for her kids. Scrambled eggs, toast, and grapes are pretty normal foods. If you’re a parent yourself, you may have already spotted where Joy went wrong here. Eggs, toast, and some sort of fruit are very generic breakfast foods. They’re not for everyone, but they’re usually fine unless there’s an allergy. But Gunner is only three years old. As Joy’s fans and critics alike across social media are calling out, grapes are a choking hazard for toddlers and preschoolers. Children develop more experience eating as they grow, and they also develop larger throats. At 3, though, many children could more easily have a grape go down their windpipe — turning a snack into a health emergency. Even the CDC advises cutting grapes for little kids to make eating safer for them. Obviously, there are people who will always raise a stink about anything that Joy-Anna Duggar or any of her siblings do. This isn’t always unreasonable. People who grew up in an abusive cult will often get things wrong, especially when they have not actually left said cult. But even people who are normally Joy’s fans — people who know, for example, that Gunner has choked before — called her out here. Critics pointed out that there are other risks, like kids not wearing helmets or being photographed around guns. Point is: nobody wants to see a toddler choke to death when there are plenty of grape slicers on the market for exactly this situation. (Also for making chicken salad. Seriously, find firm, crisp grapes and slice them and they will transform the meal.) We would be remiss if we did not acknowledge that it is possible that Jinger Duggar was throwing shade at her sister and podcast co-host. On her own Instagram page, Jinger shared “mom hacks” — and one happened to be a grape slicer. It’s possible that she hadn’t seen Joy’s blunder and just happened to post this. At the same time, maybe she wants to make sure that fans know that she takes precautions with the health and safety of her children. We hope that Joy’s kids continue to be “lucky” — as much as someone born into the Duggar or Forsyth families could possibly be, anyway. Reading Time: 2 minutes Joe Manganiello is opening up about the devastating health battle he says changed his marriage to Sofia Vergara — and his account of their relationship is not exactly flattering. Manganiello and Vergara got divorced in 2023 after seven years of marriage. And he says she was anything but supportive while he was battling a mysterious autoimmune illness that nearly killed him. (Photo by Dia Dipasupil/Getty Images) Manganiello details the ordeal in his upcoming memoir, Bloodlines, revealing that his health began deteriorating shortly after he and Vergara married in 2015. Over the next seven years, he says he lost 60 pounds, endured excruciating abdominal pain, and underwent numerous medical procedures. In 2016, doctors were forced to remove part of his intestines during emergency surgery. But according to Manganiello, the physical suffering was only part of the problem. He claims his marriage had “become devoid of any emotionality whatsoever” during his years of illness. He alleges that Vergara refused to hug him, even when he begged her to, and ridiculed him over a five-pound Chihuahua named Bubbles. The dog, Manganiello explains, had arrived during one of the darkest periods of his life. “I had to give my gun away because I kept thinking about it, and then the dog came,” he says in the memoir. “I went from being the patient to the caretaker.” Manganiello says Bubbles became an important source of comfort while he was struggling with his health and contemplating suicide. The actor also uses Bloodlines to dispute one of the most commonly reported explanations for his 2023 divorce from Vergara. Vergara previously said that the marriage ended because Manganiello wanted children while she did not want to become “an old mom.” Manganiello now claims that his health battle actually caused him to abandon his dream of becoming a father. After unsuccessful IVF attempts, the couple reportedly discussed using an egg donor. But Manganiello says he feared dying and leaving Vergara with a child who “wasn’t biologically hers.” “There were things said and printed about me that were false,” he says. Manganiello eventually underwent another surgery to reconnect his digestive tract and says he is now symptom-free and off medication. These days, he’s engaged to Caitlin O’Connor and says he is finally looking toward the future — including possibly becoming a father. “For seven years I thought I was going to be dead the next week,” Manganiello says. “The world has opened back up to me.” Bloodlines is scheduled for release on October 13.
