Reading Time: 2 minutes In a newly released BBC documentary, four women accused Jared Leto of sexually assaulting them while they were still in their teens. In the past, such allegations in the media have resulted in a swift response from police, as in the case of comedian Russell Brand, who will soon face trial. But according to a new report from TMZ, Leto is not currently under investigation by the LAPD. Jared Leto attends the “Tron: Ares” premiere at Humboldt Forum on September 30, 2025 in Berlin, Germany. (Photo by Gerald Matzka/Getty Images) “There have been no recent cases presented by law enforcement related to Jared Leto,” a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office tells the outlet. That news comes on the heels of a scathing New York Post piece in which Leto is harshly criticized by insiders who’ve worked with him in the past. “He’s not a good guy. There’s no soul behind his eyes,” said one source, who claims to have toured with Leto and his band, 30 Seconds to Mars. “People who have known him for years have also said that he is very problematic with women,” the insider added. “Everyone in the music industry knows there was going to be a day of reckoning for him.” In the documentary, 10 women accused Leto of varying degrees of misconduct. Four of them — using the pseudonyms “Clara,” “Alex,” “Isabel” and “Etta” — claimed they were sexually assaulted by the Oscar winner while they were still in their teens. One of them, who went by Etta, alleged that Leto tried to get her to sign a non-disclosure agreement after grooming her when she was 16. This is not the first time that Leto has faced allegations of sexual misconduct. The previous allegations also did not lead to any civil or criminal penalties. In a statement issued on Wednesday, Leto denied any wrongdoing. “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life,” he said. Leto went on to describe the allegations against him as “absolutely and categorically false.” We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available. Reading Time: 2 minutes One year ago, Pope Leo declared the birth of Tyquan Johnson a miracle. This week, the 19-year-old was arrested in connection with a double shooting. The Rhode Island teen — whose remarkable survival as an infant was recognized by the Vatican as a certified act of God — has been arrested by US Marshals. The newly elected Pontiff, Pope Leo XIV is seen for the first time from the Vatican balcony on May 8, 2025 in Vatican City, Vatican. (Photo by Christopher Furlong/Getty Images) According to a police report obtained by TMZ, Johnson was taken into custody Wednesday by members of the Marshals Fugitive Task Force at a residence in Virginia after authorities alleged he fled Rhode Island following the July 19 shooting. Investigators say Johnson is accused of shooting two people in Newport before leaving the state. Both victims survived and were treated for injuries described as non-life-threatening. Authorities have also said they are seeking a second person for questioning in connection with the incident. The arrest has drawn widespread attention because of Johnson’s extraordinary medical history. Johnson was born prematurely in January 2007 and suffered a severe lack of oxygen shortly after birth. According to the Diocese of Providence, doctors believed he was unlikely to survive. After a physician reportedly prayed for the intercession of 19th-century Spanish priest Salvador Valera Parra, the infant unexpectedly recovered without lasting complications. Following a years-long investigation by Church officials, Pope Leo XIV formally recognized Johnson’s recovery as a miracle in 2025, making it the first miracle approved during his papacy and the first officially recognized miracle connected to Rhode Island. Authorities have charged Johnson with felony assault with a firearm and firing a weapon in a compact area. As with all criminal defendants, he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. The Vatican has not publicly commented on Johnson’s arrest. The unusual turn of events has generated significant attention because of the stark contrast between Johnson’s widely publicized survival story and the serious criminal allegations he now faces. The criminal case is expected to proceed through the Rhode Island court system as investigators continue gathering evidence and searching for the second individual they believe may have information about the shooting. We will have further updates on this unusual story as new information becomes available. Reading Time: 3 minutes A couple of months ago, Jinger Duggar and Joy-Anna Duggar discussed their latest family disgrace. But they have more in common than, unfortunately, sharing both Josh and Joseph as brothers. It was not always so. Now, the sisters described being kept apart as children. They could only really bond as adults. Jinger Duggar Vuolo and Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth chat on the former’s podcast. (Image Credit: YouTube) ‘The bond was not really there’ On the Wednesday, July 29 episode of the Jinger & Jeremy podcast, Jinger chatted with Joy-Anna about their friendship — and how, as children, they weren’t close. “I would say we were close in proximity but not like relationally,” Joy-Anna characterized. She added: “The bond was not really there.” “There was an age gap, and I felt like the age gap was segregated by sections,” Jinger assessed. Both women are about 4 years apart. She added: “[Our family was] separated by an age gap of the older kids, the middle kids, the younger kids. I was, kind of, in the older section for many years [of] the six oldest.” So, even though Jinger is 32 and Joy is 28, their 4-year age gap had their notorious parents sorting them differently. “I was in the older half, and then I just felt like you were one of the little kids and you were sandwiched between, you know, a lot of boys or whatever,” Jinger described. “We also [have] different personalities,” she continued. “But I’m saying when you were little, that’s what I remember,” Jinger said. “Like, you’re much younger than me. It’s crazy ‘cause you’re not.” In an ordinary household, they might have been free to spend more time together. But, in the Duggar cult, they might as well have been neighbors rather than sisters. On her podcast, Jinger Duggar tells her sister why she feels that they are so close now. (Image Credit: YouTube) ‘I feel like I do talk to you the most’ “[We were] very, very different as kids,” Joy recalled. “I think part of it is because I was so, like, ‘I will not be a girly girl. I will not wear nice clothes,’” she said of her childhood. Joy elaborated: “We just had very different interests and I was like, ‘I will never understand why they like shopping so much.’” Being an adult has changed things, as she admitted: “But, it’s grown on me.” It is very common for people to enjoy certain things — including but not limited to clothing — more when they are adults who are able to choose things for themselves. An outfit that you like at 28 is very different from an outfit that your famously poorly dressed mother likes when you’re 10. Joy-Anna Duggar smiles and agrees with her sister. (Image Credit: YouTube) These days, as adult women, both Jinger and Joy feel closer than they were as kids. Even though Jinger is in California. “We live so far away, but out of all the sisters, I feel like I do talk to you the most,” Joy-Anna told her older sister. “We are very, maybe, just chill and we are who we are,” she added. “I feel like we’re in the same season of life.” As we have explained in the past, “season” is a peculiar evangelical expression to refer to eras, chapters, or other segments of one’s life. “At least for me on my side, I feel like I can just pick the phone up, and there’s no pressure to talk to you,” she continued. “But also when we do it’s, like, there’s been no time between our conversations.” Jinger & Joy-Anna Duggar: Our Parents ‘Segregated’ Us as Kids! was originally published on The Hollywood Gossip. Reading Time: 2 minutes Ghislaine Maxwell won’t be getting out of prison any time soon — at least not if the US Senate has anything to say about it. On Wednesday, the Senate unanimously approved a bipartisan resolution declaring that Maxwell should not receive a presidential pardon or any other form of executive clemency. The non-binding measure passed Wednesday without opposition, reflecting rare bipartisan agreement as the Jeffrey Epstein case receives another round of renewed attention. Socialite Ghislane Maxwell with an unidentified male companion attends the Opening of the Asprey Flagship Store on 5th Avenue December 8, 2003 in New York City. (Photo by Mark Mainz/Getty Images) Maxwell is serving a 20-year federal prison sentence after being convicted in 2021 on sex trafficking-related charges for recruiting and grooming underage girls for Epstein, the infamous financier and convicted sex who took his own life in 2019. Although the resolution carries no legal force, it serves as a formal statement of the Senate’s position amid ongoing speculation over whether President Donald Trump could eventually consider granting Maxwell clemency. When recently asked about that possibility, Trump declined to rule it out, saying he had not given the matter much thought. The resolution was introduced by Senator Jacky Rosen, who argued that Maxwell’s crimes make her undeserving of any reduction in her sentence. Speaking on the Senate floor, Rosen said survivors of Epstein’s abuse deserve justice rather than uncertainty over whether Maxwell could receive special treatment. She also noted that the vote came as the Senate considered Attorney General nominee Todd Blanche, who has publicly stated that he would not recommend a pardon for Maxwell. The Senate’s action follows months of renewed public and political interest in the Epstein investigation and those connected to it. Earlier this year, Maxwell appeared before the House Oversight Committee but repeatedly invoked her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination rather than answer lawmakers’ questions. While the resolution sends a clear political message, it does not limit the president’s constitutional authority to issue pardons or commute federal sentences. Executive clemency remains solely within the president’s power. Still, lawmakers from both parties made their position unmistakably clear by approving the resolution unanimously. Whether the vote has any practical impact on Maxwell’s future remains uncertain. But the Senate’s message was straightforward, and it’s clear that members of both parties believe Maxwell should serve the remainder of her sentence without receiving a presidential pardon or other form of executive clemency. We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available. Reading Time: 2 minutes All week long, Kelly Ripa hasn’t appeared on TV. That’s a little awkward, since this has left her husband to man Live with Kelly and Mark without half of the eponymous hosting team. Why is Kelly gone? Who is stepping in for her? And when will she return? Kelly Ripa attends Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa on July 07, 2026. (Photo Credit: Noam Galai/Getty Images for SiriusXM) Where is she? On Thursday, July 30, Pamela Adlon sat with Mark Consuelos as his guest co-host on Live With Kelly and Mark. Adlon is only one guest host in a rotation. Meanwhile, Kelly has been absent from the show all week. Hunky husband Mark has provided periodic updates on her recovery. Kelly, meanwhile, has only appeared on social media — mostly in reposted content. Kelly’s absence is due to her gum graft surgery. Mark explained to the audience that, while she recovers, she simply cannot appear on the show. There are some surgeries that might allow someone to participate in a show remotely, if only to reassure fans. But gum graft surgery, which addresses receding gumlines and helps to stave off tooth decay, is not one such procedure. We hope that Kelly is recovering well and is as comfortable as humanly possible, under the circumstances. When will she return? Adlon appeared as a guest last week. Thursday, she was a guest host on the program. If you are not familiar Adlon is an actor, writier, and producer. If you don’t know Adlon for FX’s Better Things, you’ve still likely heard the actor’s voice as Bobby on King of the Hill. (Seriously, Better Things is pretty well reviewed. FX’s programming tends to be top-notch, as it’s one of the few remaining networks that seems to care more about television than about business numbers.) There is not yet a return date for Kelly. Or, if there is, it remains a tightly kept secret. One has to assume (and hope) that Kelly will consult with doctors as she recovers, and will not return prematurely. For her job, specifically, she’ll likely want to wait until returning to work is not only safe, but also presentable. You can’t really smile into the camera and hide your gum surgery at the same time. We hope that she is resting and recovering well. Reading Time: 3 minutes She went to prison and Netflix did a deep dive on her case in The Crash. Now, Mackenzie Shirilla is asking the court for a new trial. Her new attorneys say that her rights were violated, that she had inadequate legal representation, and Are they right? Is she just not enjoying prison? Is it a little of both? The infamous Mackenzie Shirilla appears in this mugshot. (Photo Credit: Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction) A new trial? On Tuesday, July 28, Shirilla’s news attorneys filed a writ of habeas corpus in federal court, Us Weekly reports. The federal petition is based around the belief that key exculpatory evidence was wrongfully excluded during her original trial. This new legal challenge also asserts that there was insufficient evidence leading to Shirilla’s conviction. In both cases (and beyond), her new legal team says that she had ineffective counsel at trial. As far as the excluded evidence goes, there’s an explanation for Shirilla driving where she was on the night of July 31, 2022 — one that doesn’t include her alleged intention to murder boyfriend Dominic Russo and friend Davion Flanagan. “The prosecution theorized that the location was intended to be private in order for Shirilla to crash the vehicle without immediate attention,” her new legal team argues. “But the defense had evidence that a local grocer had left a package of produce for Shirilla at a 24-hour pickup spot,” their filing notes. This pickup spot was “at a store located in the vicinity of the crash scene.” Shirilla’s attorneys wrote: “This would have provided a benign explanation for why Shirilla was driving in this particular area that morning.” They note that this was “evidence not presented by the defendant even though the grocer testified about other matters.” Should a minor’s case be tried in adult court? Additionally, Shirilla’s new legal team argue that her rights were violated on a more broad level during the trial. Specifically, she was a minor at the time of the tragic deaths of her two companions. Her trial, they argue, was improperly transferred from juvenile court to adult court. Improper because she was still a minor and belonged in juvenile court. If the prosecution’s theory was that an emotional teenager tried to kill herself and her companions by driving at high speed into a wall, would that not belong in a different legal venue than it would if, say, a 30-year-old had done the same? That is, essentially, her attorneys’ argument. And, whatever we may think of Shirilla and her culpability, that seems sound. The bit about the potentially exculpatory evidence does seem like something that a courtroom should hear. Imagine yourself as a juror (Shirilla had a bench trial, but bear with us) and you vote to convict someone who seemingly had no possible reason for being in an area except to commit a crime. If you later learned that they were on their way to the grocery store, but were not permitted to explain this in court, you might think that it could have influenced your verdict. That said, we have not seen this alleged evidence. We don’t know if Shirilla was actually on her way to pick up a parcel. Two young men died in a horrific crash that could have claimed Shirilla’s life, too. It seems likely that she has at least some culpability. Whether it’s worth two concurrent sentences of 15 years … that may be up to a new trial to determine. Or not, as the case may be. Mackenzie Shirilla Demands New Trial: My Rights Were Violated! My First Lawyer Sucked! was originally published on The Hollywood Gossip. View the full article

Reading Time: 2 minutes Back in 2023, adult film star Emily Willis went into cardiac arrest while being treated for ketamine addiction at a rehab facility in Malibu. This week, her family was awarded a $3 million settlement against the facility, but for Emily, life will never be the same. Following news of the settlement, Emily’s mother told TMZ that her daughter is still unable to speak and communicates only with her eyes and by shaking her head. Emily Willis attends the 2023 Sundance Film Festival “Divinity” Premiere at Egyptian Theatre on January 21, 2023 in Park City, Utah. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) Emily went 30 to 40 minutes without oxygen during her cardiac arrest, and she still undergoes daily therapy with the goal of one day regaining the ability to speak. According to TMZ, “Emily is still learning to walk again and needs help being fed,” but she is finally able to sleep without being monitored. Her family reports that she is able to watch and understand her favorite movies and TV shows, and her mother estimates that Emily is able to comprehend “about 80 percent” of what is happening around her. After undergoing 10 surgeries, Emily is currently living in Mexico, where she works with a team of “top-tier therapists.” Emily’s mother says the family is hoping to travel to Spain, so that she can undergo a new procedure that’s designed to “stimulate the systems that control speech, communication, and movement.” And while the family was just awarded a massive settlement, $3 million is really just a drop in the bucket, considering the fact that Emily will likely require lifelong care. The settlement reflects a new trend — one that we previously saw following Matthew Perry’s death — in which parties responsible for an addict’s recovery are being held civilly and criminally liable for failing to live up to provide adequate care. Prior to her two-month coma, Willis was one of the biggest stars in the world of adult film. In 2023, she transitioned to mainstream film with a role in the sci-fi film Divinity. We wish Emily and her family all the best as they continue on their long road to recovery. Reading Time: 3 minutes Early this year, Farrah Abraham announced a political run in the wrong year. She panicked and pivoted to running for a new political position. In the right year, this time! Now, the oft-ridiculed Teen Mom alum is doubling down on her campaign. But she’s also taking a break to skewer her mom as a “sociopath.” Farrah Abraham stopped by the ‘Legally Goff’ podcast to discuss a myriad of topics. (Image Credit: YouTube) Yes, she’s still running In January of this year, Farrah proclaimed her candidacy to be mayor of Austin, running in this year’s election. She was live on TMZ when she learned that the next mayoral race will not be until 2028. Farrah course-corrected, as one might charitably phrase it, to be running for Austin City Council in District 5. She’ll be facing off against Ryan Alter, who is Harvard-educated and the incumbent. Technically, Farrah also took some Harvard courses. You may recall how she ended up burning her Harvard sweatshirt and freaking out when, the clues suggest, a professor gently tried to speak with her about her wildly incoherent writing. She doesn’t take criticism well. The good folks at The Ashley captured Farrah Abraham’s Instagram Story where she’s doubling down on her Austin City Council run. (Image Credit: Instagram) On Tuesday, July 28, Farrah doubled down on her farcical run for office by displaying her merch and declaring that she’s “officially on the ballot for November.” (We said farcical, not impossible. Undeserving monsters whose only qualifications are being reality TV bigots can and do win elections, to the world’s everlasting regret, even if Spencer Pratt did lose recently.) Ominously, Farrah thanked the people who live in District 5 “in advance” for supporting her. There are big questions about whether Farrah meets eligibility requirements for City Council. But Farrah insists that she meets the requirements, even if she’s not disclosing her actual place of residency to the public. We can only hope that the good people of Austin will not allow Farrah to launch a political career. Please. Let’s not forget the woman whose fault this is Speaking of people whose names we all long to forget, Debra Danielsen has made multiple appearances on the podcast of Catelynn Lowell’s brother, Nick. That is so tangential but was enough to set off Farrah, who griped about it on the Legally Goff Podcast. First and foremost, Farrah blasted anyone related to Catelynn as “a family who goes out of their way to insert themselves into my life and hate on me.” She added that her doctors and her “success team” (no, we do not know what that means) agree with her. Farrah claimed that these people are “mind-boggled as to why my mom continues to act like a sociopath.” Farrah did talk about learning to mentally disentangle herself from her mother. Who, to be fair, Teen Mom fans generally agree could not have been a good parent or a good person. “Just having the education and the words now, to know, like, ‘Hey, if you’re acting like a sociopath, then that is what you are,’” she said. “‘You’re no longer my mom,” Farrah expressed. “That has taken you over and I really hope that you get some help for that.” She suggested: “Go find your own identity outside of your daughters’ and people hating your daughter and [you’re] joining in that. And I will never do that to my own child.” Gosh, we sure hope that that’s true. For Sophia’s sake. Reading Time: 2 minutes We have a new development in the ongoing saga of Nolan Wells. As you’ve likely heard by now, Wells was found dead on Mississippi’s Horn Island earlier this month, and his cause of death remains a mystery. Police are still investigating the matter, and now, a friend of Wells has lawyered up over claims that the two of them fought over a shared love interest. People listen as attorney Ben Crump holds a press conference with Elmore Wonsley and Christine Wells-Wonsley, the parents of Nolan Wells, at the annual NAACP National Convention to announce the results of an independent autopsy as they investigate the death of Wells on July 22, 2026 in Chicago, Illinois. (Photo by Scott Olson/Getty Images) Earlier this week, Katie McCormick was identified as the “mystery woman” whom the 18-year-old was speaking with on the day of his disappearance. Amateur social media sleuths are now claiming — with little to no evidence — that McCormick once dated a friend of Wells’ named Bart Edmiston Jr. According to statements released through his attorney, Edmiston intends to file a defamation lawsuit against individuals he says falsely accused him of playing a role in Wells’ death. The attorney also said Edmiston has received death threats as speculation surrounding the case has intensified on social media (per The Washington Times). Wells disappeared on July 4 and was found dead two days later. Authorities have not determined an official cause or manner of death, and investigators have repeatedly emphasized that the case remains active. A grand jury is expected to review the evidence once the investigation is complete. The teen’s family has questioned the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, particularly after learning his cellphone was recovered separately from his body. They have also commissioned an independent autopsy, which was unable to determine a cause of death or rule out foul play because of the condition of the remains. Edmiston’s attorney said his client has not been identified as a suspect and denies any involvement in Wells’ death. The attorney also rejected online rumors attempting to connect Edmiston to others involved in the case, calling those claims false and harmful. Other friends who were with Wells have also spoken publicly in recent weeks, insisting they have cooperated with investigators and had no role in the tragedy. Several have said they have received threats since the case gained widespread attention online. Meanwhile, Wells’ family continues to push for answers. Their legal team has sought additional digital evidence, including social media records, after raising concerns that photos or videos from Wells’ phone may be missing. No arrests have been made, and investigators have not publicly identified any suspects. Officials have urged the public to allow the investigation to proceed while discouraging speculation that could interfere with the case. Meanwhile, Katie McCormick’s sister has denied claims that Nolan stayed behind to pursue Katie even as his friends departed the island by boat. We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available. Reading Time: 2 minutes As we previously reported, Bryan Kohberger attempted to withdraw his guilty plea with a handwritten court filing on Monday. Kohberger is currently serving four consecutive life sentences for the 2022 murders of four University of Idaho students. He pled guilty to the crimes in July of 2025, but is now seeking a new trial on the grounds that he was misled by his lawyers. A law enforcement vehicle with obscured windows, believed to be carrying murder suspect Bryan Kohberger, enters the Latah County Courthouse on January 4, 2023 in Moscow, Idaho. (Photo by David Ryder/Getty Images) According to the New York Post, Kohberger’s attempt to overturn his plea is centering on a single piece of evidence: hair recovered from one of the victims. In a petition for post-conviction relief, Kohberger argues that unidentified hair found in the hand of victim Ethan Chapin represents potentially exculpatory evidence that was not properly disclosed before he agreed to plead guilty. Kohberger claims that information could have affected his decision to accept a plea agreement that spared him the death penalty. Kohberger pleaded guilty in 2025 to the murders of Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves and was sentenced to four consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole. As part of his latest filing, Kohberger alleges his attorneys provided ineffective assistance and failed to fully explain evidence that he now says could support his claim of innocence. He has also argued that he was pressured into accepting the plea agreement through misinformation and false promises. Retired FBI agent Chris Whitcomb has said the recovered hair did not appear consistent with Kohberger’s characteristics and was never subjected to DNA testing. Still, legal analysts say the hair evidence is unlikely to be enough on its own to undo Kohberger’s guilty plea. Whitcomb has suggested that investigators ultimately determined the evidence was not significant to the prosecution’s case. Other experts have described Kohberger’s latest argument as a long shot, given the extensive evidence presented before his guilty plea. Court records cited in multiple reports also indicate that a defense-retained DNA expert examined hair evidence and concluded it matched Ethan Chapin rather than Kohberger. Because Kohberger waived his right to a direct appeal when he entered his guilty plea, legal experts say he now faces a difficult path to obtaining relief. To succeed, he would generally need to show that his plea was not entered knowingly and voluntarily, that prosecutors improperly withheld exculpatory evidence, or that his attorneys provided constitutionally ineffective representation. Former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani told People that post-conviction petitions of this type are common but rarely successful, particularly after a negotiated guilty plea. A judge has not yet ruled on Kohberger’s petition. Until then, his convictions and four life sentences remain in place. We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available. Reading Time: 2 minutes In a scathing new BBC documentary, four women accuse Jared Leto of sexually assaulting them while they were still in their teens. Now, Leto is pushing back against allegations detailed in a new BBC documentary, with the actor and musician firmly denying claims of criminal sexual conduct. The Oscar winner released a statement after the film Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret featured accusations from multiple women, including four who alleged misconduct occurred when they were teenagers. Jared Leto attends CinemaCon 2025- Walt Disney Studios Invites you to its 2025 presentation highlighting its upcoming release schedule at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace during CinemaCon, the official convention of Cinema United, on April 3, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Alberto E. The BBC documentary includes interviews with women who accuse Leto of inappropriate and criminal behavior spanning several years. The film features accounts from 10 women, with four women making allegations of criminal sexual conduct. Leto has denied the allegations and maintained that the claims made against him are untrue. Leto has disputed similar accusations that have surfaced in the past. The documentary examines numerous accusations involving Leto, who has built a decades-long career as both an actor and musician. The film includes interviews with individuals who describe alleged encounters with him, as well as accounts from people connected to his music career. The allegations are disputed by Leto, and no criminal charges have been announced in connection with the claims reported in the documentary. The controversy comes as Leto remains one of Hollywood’s most recognizable performers. He won an Academy Award for his role in the 2013 Dallas Buyers Club and has also served as the lead singer of Thirty Seconds to Mars since 1998. It’s unclear at this time if the accusations against Leto will result in any civil or criminal actions. We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available. Reading Time: 3 minutes In the United States, a family annihilation killing takes place approximately every 5 days. A Michigan mother and her six children were killed in a septuple murder-suicide that ultimately claimed the lives of the family’s pets. Prior to the killing, Amanda “Mandy” Karolkiewicz appears to have left a series of reddit posts discussing her husband — and even contemplating divorce. Do these posts provide a clue as to the monster’s motive for allegedly murdering his wife and children? Michigan State Police following a deadly shooting. (Photo Credit: Emily Elconin/Getty Images) Mandy, her six kids, and their pets all died alongside their alleged killer According to Investigators, Kristopher Karolkiewicz shot and killed his wife, Mandy, and the couple’s six children. The children ranged in ages from 5 to 15. In the aftermath of the six homicides, Kristopher allegedly set fire to the family’s Grand Haven Township home and took his own life. Authorities report that the family’s pets also died in the ensuing inferno. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office characterized the investigation as one of the deadliest family homicide cases in the history of the county. A reddit account, by the username of Mandyk1179, appears to match Amanda Karolkiewicz’s life, timeline, marital history, employment, and more. Despite no activity in recent months, Mandy appeared to have made dozens of posts spanning about two years. Many use reddit to anonymously discuss their life and weigh difficult decisions. This includes crowdsourcing advice on major relationship issues from hundreds or even thousands of strangers. In Mandy’s case, she was a mom attempting to raise six children while simultaneously pursuing a teaching career. But there was more to it — including insights into Kristopher. ‘I love my kids more than I hate my husband right now’ According to her posts, Kristopher allegedly had an affair of some sort. She considered leaving him — but was also afraid of what this would do to her kids. “I love my kids more than I hate my husband right now,” the account attributed to Mandy wrote at one point. Ultimately, she vowed to try to keep her family together. She wanted to create a healthier home for everyone. Police have not released a motive for the killing during what is still a very new investigation. However, the reddit account may hold clues. A reddit post discussing delving into Mandy’s clues and Kristopher’s possible motives observed that he was, allegedly, a man who lied about his work history and education, and tended to get fired from jobs. Not all family annihilators have dark secrets or are abusive to their families, though some are. Family annihilators as a whole tend to be men who believe that their family is an extension of themselves. Some family annihilators see their families as status symbols. Other slaughter the family to “punish” them for being people instead of acting out whatever fantasy existed in his head. Some kill the entire family purely to punish the mother, even if she is the first victim. And then there are those who believe that they’re protecting their family from something “worse” by killing them here an now. What caused Kristopher Karolkiewicz to allegedly murder his wife and kids? Perhaps Kristopher’s latest firing was the inciting incident. On social media, that is the prevailing theory — and it certainly fits the profile. But we don’t know — and it’s possible that we never will. It has been more than 5 days. Statistically, the massacre of the Karolkiewicz family was not even the most recent familicide in the US. It is possible that the latest victims have not even been found yet. This is part of our reality. If there’s anything to take from this horrific tragedy, it’s that staying for your children might not be doing them any favors. (But then, some killers use divorce as an excuse to commit the same heinous crime.) Reading Time: 2 minutes You don’t need love in your heart to find love! It turns out that Marjorie Taylor Greene’s next job is being a wife (again). This week, she tied the knot with her fiance. Remarkably, it was a Vegas wedding. Marjorie Taylor Greene speaks to reporters as she departs on February 06, 2024. (Photo Credit: Kevin Dietsch/Getty Images) PHOTO ONE On Tuesday, July 28, MTG married fiance Brian Glenn. TMZ reports that the pair tied the knot in Las Vegas — complete with photos. The former congresswoman wore a white wedding gown while her new husband wore a tux. They walked right in front of row after row of slot machines on their big day. Only in Vegas! And, specifically, the Bellagio Hotel. [image or embed] — Celebrity News | Entertainment News | TMZ.com [Unofficial] (@tmz.com.web.brid.gy) July 29, 2026 at 8:48 AM According to the report, a cameraman followed the newlyweds as they played craps. A group of kids were also reportedly present, watching the two. MTG and her man applied for a marriage license in Clark County on July 24 — last Friday. It is very common to seek a marriage license at least a few days in advance of a wedding. Many remain valid for a month or longer. Of course, Vegas is almost synonymous with rapidly-assembled weddings that may be spur of the moment or even ill-advised. Only time will tell how these two fare. MTG and Glenn became engaged in December of 2025. At the time, the then-planning-to-retire congresswoman tweeted: “Happily Ever After.” Notably, both Greene and Glenn recently left jobs with major conservative installations. She left a GOP-controlled congress, and Glenn left a conservative network hilariously titled “Real America’s Voice.” It would seem that they are choosing each other. But MTG, at the very least, will still make time to post unhinged conspiracy nonsense on social media. Life’s all about finding that balance. Marjorie Taylor Greene claims Trump is a “founding father” pic.twitter.com/OmzQws36oM — Headquarters (@HQNewsNow) July 15, 2024 Greene’s falling out with Donald Trump is only one piece of a larger picture of fractured conservative alliances. Some believe that, despite her unhinged beliefs on many topics — including her love of antisemitism and her loathing of vaccines — MTG couldn’t carry on with the Trump regime’s handling of the Epstein files. Realizing that the man she’d supported was also a prolific monster may have felt like a betrayal. Others, however, believe that she simply stepped away to flee a sinking ship — and could plot a political comeback once Trump is finally out of the picture. We hope that Greene and Glenn are very happy together. So happy, in fact, that neither feels any inclination to enter the political arena in any way, shape, or form. Reading Time: 2 minutes We have tragic news to report from the world of music today. Kavinsky — the French DJ best known for his contributions to the 2011 Ryan Gosling film Drive — has passed away. He was just 50 years old. DJ Kavinsky performs during day 1 of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival at the Empire Polo Field on April 26, 2008 in Indio, California. (Photo by Charley Gallay/Getty Images) The artist, born Vincent Belorgey, was found dead at his home in Paris on Tuesday evening, according to a report from Reuters. French authorities have opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death, though prosecutors said first responders found no signs of suspicious activity at the scene. Officials have not announced a cause of death. According to the Paris prosecutor’s office, investigators are working to determine what led to the musician’s death. Authorities emphasized that there was no immediate indication of foul play, but the inquiry remains active. The news has prompted an outpouring of tributes from fans and fellow musicians around the world. Kavinsky rose to international prominence with his 2010 single “Nightcall,” which found a massive audience after appearing on the Drive soundtrack. The haunting synthwave anthem became synonymous with the film and helped establish Kavinsky as one of the defining artists of the retro-inspired electronic music movement. More recently, the musician introduced his signature sound to a new generation when he performed “Nightcall” during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics alongside Belgian singer Angèle. The performance renewed interest in the song and further cemented its place in pop culture. French leaders were among those honoring the late performer. French Culture Minister Catherine Pégard described Kavinsky as one of the country’s “most singular voices,” praising music that was both nostalgic and timeless. French President Emmanuel Macron also paid tribute, calling the artist “forever a source of French pride.” Kavinsky leaves behind a legacy that stretched well beyond France, with “Nightcall” remaining one of the most recognizable electronic tracks of the past two decades. Additional details about his death have not yet been released as authorities continue their investigation. We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available. In the meantime, our condolences go out to Kavinsky’s loved ones during this enormously difficult time. Reading Time: 2 minutes One of the many, many messy pieces of the Summer House fallout was a wild detail. In their four years of marriage, Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke never had sex. Why did that happen? Well, they’re now explaining that there were several factors. One of them was that Cooke tried to have her read a book about dating an entrepreneur. Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula attend Bravo’s “Summer House” Season 10 at 92NY on January 28, 2026. (Photo Credit: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images) ‘There were no dates’ At the Summer House reunion, both Cooke and Batula revealed that they had never actually consummated their marriage. On July 28, during Part 2 of the In The City reunion, Batula explained that “part of it” was an issue with her mental health. “Depression will do that,” she said simply. Even before they married in 2021, their sex life was a topic in therapy. “I wasn’t getting courted. There were no dates,” Batula explained. “He would work all day, work all night, then come to bed, tell me an email, and then try to have sex with me.” “It felt like there was no foreplay. There was no emotional intimacy. There was no conversation,” Batula lamented. She summarized: “There was nothing else happening in the relationship.” “I felt like I was just an object at that point,” Batula expressed, understandably. “Then the depression hit also, and then it was just an unfortunate storm,” she characterized. Batula noted: “Then he would still go out. He would still do these things. We get into big fights –” Amanda Batula admitted she was being defensive at the "Summer House" reunion : Peacock pic.twitter.com/IvUdKKjozn — Page Six (@PageSix) July 22, 2026 ‘Your solution was for me to read a book on how to date an entrepreneur’ This is when Cooke interrupted. “Can you imagine?” he asked, seemingly seeking sympathy. “Like this is not like a guy-girl thing,” he characterized. “But like we get married, Cooke described, “and there’s just, like, we never have sex.” They did clarify that the never was hyperbolic. Batula and Cooke confirmed that they had sex three times in their four-year marriage. “Every date we ever went on, trip, getaway, I’m putting in the hours now or then, so we can provide for a family later,” Cooke explained. Which is to say that his unhinged grind mindset (grindset) was a factor. “It takes a toll on our romantic and intimate relationship,” Batula explained. “Your solution was for me to read a book on how to date an entrepreneur.” She continued: “So like you’re literally saying exactly what I’m saying is that you worked really hard for our future, but it did have an effect on our marriage and our relationship.” You know that moment in A Muppet’s Christmas Carol when young Scrooge and his would-be wife sing about how their love is gone because he’s too fixated on building a career and fortune and forgot to nurture their relationship? It sounds like that, but way more modern and way more cringe. Many people are entrepreneurs. Guys who use that specific identity as a label are often waving a red flag, however. Reading Time: 2 minutes We have tragic news to report from the world of music today. Glen Hansard — the Irish singer-songwriter who rose to fame with his role in the acclaimed 2007 film Once — has passed away. He was just 56 years old. Musician Glen Hansard from the band “The Frames” performs during day 2 of the Coachella Music Festival held at the Empire Polo Field on April 28, 2007 in Indio, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) According to a report from the Associated Press, Hansard died early Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in Lucan, on the outskirts of Dublin. Emergency responders treated him at the scene, but he was pronounced dead shortly afterward. His family later said they were “deeply shocked and heartbroken” by the sudden loss. For music fans around the world, Hansard will forever be remembered as the soulful voice behind the band the Frames and the folk duo the Swell Season. But it was his role in Once — and the film’s Oscar-winning song, “Falling Slowly,” which he sang with Markéta Irglová — that brought him his greatest international fame. Long before Oscar recognition, Hansard had established himself as one of Ireland’s most respected musicians. He fronted the Frames for decades, helping shape the country’s modern rock scene, while his work with the Swell Season and as a solo artist showcased a deeply personal style that resonated with listeners worldwide. His 2015 solo album Didn’t He Ramble earned a Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album, further cementing his reputation as one of Ireland’s premier singer-songwriters. Away from the spotlight, Hansard was widely admired for his charitable work. For years, he organized an annual Christmas Eve busking event outside Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre to raise money for the Dublin Simon Community, which supports people experiencing homelessness. He also delivered a memorable performance of “Fairytale of New York” at the 2023 funeral of Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan, a tribute that became one of the ceremony’s most unforgettable moments. Tributes quickly poured in following news of Hansard’s death. Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin described him as “a talented musician and actor who made a significant contribution to Ireland’s cultural landscape over many years,” while others praised not only his artistic gifts but also his generosity and commitment to helping others. Hansard is survived by his partner, poet Maire Saaritsa, and their child. Our thoughts go out to his loved ones during this enormously difficult time. Reading Time: 2 minutes Last week, we reported on the news that Tony Romo had been arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) in Wisconsin. Now, the arrest is receiving renewed attention after newly released body camera footage showed the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback struggling through field sobriety testing following his July 23 traffic stop. The video, obtained by Page Six, shows the retired NFL star being instructed through a series of standardized sobriety tests after officers said they observed signs of impairment, including red, glassy eyes and the odor of alcohol. Tony Romo attends the 2022 Paramount Upfront at 666 Madison Avenue on May 18, 2022 in New York City. (Photo by Arturo Holmes/WireImage) According to the footage, Romo asked if he could stretch before beginning the exercises, explaining that previous back issues were bothering him. During the tests, he repeatedly said he did not understand the instructions and asked officers to repeat them. At one point, Romo asked, “Did I pass?” before continuing with the evaluation. Officers ultimately determined he had not successfully completed the tests. Earlier footage from the traffic stop shows Romo telling a deputy he was leaving a golf course and heading to visit his grandparents. When asked how much he had consumed to drink, the longtime CBS Sports analyst replied, “Zero.” Police pulled Romo over after alleging he made an unsafe pass while driving on Interstate 43 in Milwaukee. When officers requested that he exit the vehicle, he initially asked to contact his attorney before eventually complying. EXCLUSIVE: Tony Romo told cops he was on his way to meet his grandma and grandpa when he was pulled over and ultimately busted for OWI … newly released body camera footage shows. pic.twitter.com/visfkPfxGT — TMZ (@TMZ) July 29, 2026 After being transported for additional testing, Romo declined to take a preliminary breath test, reportedly telling officers he had been advised by attorneys never to submit to one. Authorities subsequently informed him they would seek a warrant for further testing. Court records also indicate Romo received a citation for allegedly refusing to take an intoxication test after his arrest. He was booked into the Milwaukee County Jail before being released later that evening. His initial court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 21. Under Wisconsin law, a first-offense operating while intoxicated (OWI) case is generally treated as a civil matter rather than a criminal offense and typically carries a financial penalty if the driver is convicted. Neither Romo nor CBS Sports had publicly commented on the newly released footage as of Wednesday morning. Social media is split after seeing the footage, with some noting that Romo seemed a bit out of it and others claiming the officers had no cause to arrest him. Reading Time: 3 minutes If Donald Trump had as easy of a time passing laws as he does openly breaking them without consequence, we’d all be in trouble. He’s run into a standstill in the Senate. The legislative body is about to go on recess. They haven’t passed his big voter suppression bill because they lack the votes. Trump’s attempt to apply more pressure hit a snag when he, seemingly by accident, pushed for the “deep throated” bill. What did he mean? Donald Trump delivers remarks during the funeral service for the late Sen. Lindsey Graham on July 28, 2026. (Photo Credit: Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images) ‘A full and deep throated SAVE AMERICA ACT’ Among the dozens upon dozens upon dozens of Trump’s “Truth Social” posts this week is an eyebrow-raising post from Monday, July 27. “John Thune should not allow the United States Senate to ‘leave town’ until it passes The Save America Act,” he began. Trump continued: “Or, far better still, TERMINATES THE FILIBUSTER.” He described a filibuster-free senate as a place “where Republicans can then quickly pass everything they ever dreamed of.” Trump continued: “including a full and deep throated SAVE AMERICA ACT, the Budget, and the ever looming Debt Ceiling disaster, 1929!” In a post that sought to excoriate Thune and push for a voter suppression bill, Donald Trump distracted readers with an odd choice of words. (Image Credit: Truth Social) Yes, we will come back to that absurd line in a moment. “The Dumocrats will do it on day one,” Trump claimed, briefly expressing a rare good idea while using his perjorative nickname for the Democratic party. “And can’t believe how lucky they got with this Senate leadership,” he complained. Absurdly, Trump concluded his post: “Remember, stupidity always brings LOSING & DEATH!” That from a man who profits and succeeds politically on waves of, many would argue, stupidity. He really will throw any ally under the bus. Surely he meant ‘full throated’ Obviously, Trump writing “deep throated” in a post is, unfortunately, distractingly funny. Deep throat rose to popularity after a pornographic film (with a truly absurd premise) bore the name, but refers to a very thorough performance of fellatio. It’s a great party trick for impressing your friends. In popular culture and in political history, it was also the moniker of Mark Felt, the secret informant who fed information on Richard Nixon’s criminal abuse of power to the Washington Post to reporter Bob Woodward. It’s funny for anyone to accidentally refer to a sex act instead of writing “full throated.” It’s also humorous for Trump to accidentally evoke the memory of the Watergate scandal, which in retrospect pales in comparison to his brazen and very public corruption. Despite his atrocities, Trump can be funny — though seldom when he means to. In this case, we’re just once again witnessing the scrambled words of a man whose brain is essentially decaying — whether from age or perhaps in the aftermath of one of his rumored strokes, one can only guess. The SAVE act, on the other hand, is no laughing matter. Trump proposes a historic act of voter suppression. The desperation with which he pushes this seems to be an indicator that he knows, on some level, how deeply unpopular he is. If every American voter is able to vote without suppression, he and his allies will lose in 2026 and even more in 2028. He’s pushing the GOP to push this at all costs, but they don’t have the votes to do it. And, soon, they will have even fewer votes to carry out his will. Reading Time: 2 minutes In the weeks since Jelly Roll filed for divorce from Bunnie Xo, the exes have sent some very mixed messages about their split: First, there was talk that Bunnie and Jelly would still have a child together even though they’d separated. Shortly thereafter, Bunnie compared her marriage to a prison sentence. And now, we have another sign that this breakup is less than amicable. Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo attend the 68th GRAMMY Awards at Crypto.com Arena on February 01, 2026 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Brianna Bryson/WireImage) Fans noticed on Tuesday that the former couple no longer follow one another on Instagram, marking another public sign that they’ve moved on after ending their nearly decade-long marriage. The social media change comes just weeks after the pair finalized their divorce following Jelly Roll’s filing, which cited irreconcilable differences. Although unfollowing an ex isn’t unusual, the move is notable because the two initially presented a united front after news of their split became public. In the weeks following the divorce filing, both Jelly Roll and Bunnie spoke positively about one another, with the country star referring to his former wife as one of his closest friends. Bunnie likewise said the two intended to remain supportive of each other despite ending their marriage. Since then, however, their lives have continued to move in separate directions. Over the weekend, Bunnie shared that she had purchased a custom Rolls-Royce Cullinan, describing it as a gift to herself following the divorce. She was also seen spending time with her new boyfriend, reality television personality Dylan Wolf, in videos posted to social media. The Instagram unfollow comes after another social media change earlier this summer, when fans noticed Jelly Roll had removed references to Bunnie from his Instagram bio shortly after the divorce filing became public. The former couple’s separation has generated significant online discussion in recent weeks, particularly after Jelly Roll’s daughter, Bailee Ann, pushed back against speculation surrounding the breakup. She insisted that infidelity was not the reason for the divorce, while Bunnie later echoed that there was “nothing to clear up” and urged fans not to create their own narratives about the split. Neither Jelly Roll nor Bunnie XO has publicly commented on the decision to unfollow each other, leaving fans to speculate whether it’s simply another step in moving forward after their divorce or a sign that their relationship has become more distant in the weeks since their marriage officially ended. Either way, it seems that there’s no going back for this formerly close couple. Reading Time: 2 minutes California governor Gavin Newsom is currently the unofficial front-runner to be the Democratic nominee for the presidency. But like most politicians — or most grownups, for that matter — he’s got a few skeletons in his closet. In a memoir published earlier this year, Newsom admitted to sleeping with a staffer while he was mayor of San Francisco (before he met his current wife). California Gov. Gavin Newsom looks on during a bill signing event related to redrawing the stateâs congressional maps on August 21, 2025 in Sacramento, California. (Photo by Justin Sullivan/Getty Images) In the book, Newsom opened up about sleeping with Ruby Rippey, who was then married to his friend (and staffer) Alex Tourk. Now, Rippey has opened up about her relationship with Newsom in a new interview with Vanity Fair, admitting, among other things, that she wet the bed during their first tryst, and that Kamala Harris encouraged her to keep quiet about the affair. Rippey says the flirtations with her then-boss began during a night out shortly after she gave birth. “Hey — you look really good,” she recalls Newsom saying. “You’ve lost all your pregnancy weight.” She adds that she was in the throes of addictive addiction at the time (Newsom has been open about his own past battles with substance abuse) and that the situation escalated shortly thereafter when both parties were drinking at a co-worker’s wedding. “We meet and we drink. There is sex, but it isn’t the point. The point is proximity—to power, to being chosen, to feeling newly visible—no longer muted by pregnancy, by new motherhood, by the strain of white-knuckling long stretches of sobriety. It isn’t love. It isn’t romance. It’s intoxication,” she writes. Rippey eventually checked into rehab, and one of her counselors advised to keep the affair a secret (even from her husband) during her early sobriety. She claims that then-district attorney Kamala Harris echoed that advice. “Soon after, Kamala Harris calls. I know her from the [former mayor Willie] Brown administration; she is now the district attorney. I tell her people are urging me to speak publicly. A publisher has offered an advance for a memoir. I am broke and unemployable,” Rippey writes, adding: “She listens, then says simply: ‘I wouldn’t say anything right now, Ruby. Just pause. More time will give you better perspective.’ “It turns out to be the best advice I receive. I am newly sober and still inside the wreckage—unable to make sense of anything, let alone speak clearly about it. So I stay silent.” These days, Rippey and Newsom are both happily remarried and no longer pinned down by addiction. But even though most of the events described in Rippey’s article took place more than 20 years ago, Newsom would probably prefer that that chapter of his life remain in the distant past. Reading Time: 2 minutes In July of 2025, Bryan Kohberger was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to the murders of four University of Idaho students. The move enabled Kohberger to avoid the death penalty, but according to court documents filed on Monday, the 31-year-old former PhD student is now attempting to withdraw his plea. Kohberger filed a handwritten petition seeking post-conviction relief, claiming he is innocent and alleging he was pressured into accepting a plea deal through “false promises and blatant disinformation.” A person walks outside of the Latah County Courthouse on January 4, 2023 in Moscow, Idaho. (Photo by David Ryder/Getty Images) He argues his attorneys misled him about the strength of the evidence against him and the consequences of going to trial. The filing comes one year after Kohberger pleaded guilty to the killings of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin, as well as one count of burglary. He was sentenced to four consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole. According to legal experts interviewed by CNN, overturning that plea will be an uphill battle. Under Idaho law, defendants seeking to withdraw a guilty plea after sentencing generally must show that allowing the conviction to stand would result in a “manifest injustice,” a high legal standard that is rarely met. Claims of innocence or second thoughts alone are typically insufficient. Experts also note that judges carefully question defendants before accepting guilty pleas, asking whether anyone has threatened or coerced them and confirming they understand the agreement. Kohberger told the court his plea was voluntary, making it more difficult to argue otherwise now. In his petition, Kohberger also alleges his attorneys withheld information that could have helped his defense, including evidence involving unidentified hair recovered during the investigation. He further claims he was told that whether he was actually guilty was irrelevant so long as he accepted the plea deal. Those allegations have not been substantiated in court, and prosecutors have not yet publicly responded to the filing. The latest challenge has reopened painful memories for the victims’ families, many of whom believed the case had reached its conclusion after Kohberger’s sentencing. For now, Kohberger remains in prison serving four life sentences without parole while the court decides whether his petition raises sufficient legal grounds to move forward. Although post-conviction challenges are common, experts say successfully overturning a guilty plea after sentencing is exceptionally rare. We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available. Reading Time: 2 minutes Congratulations! Pop singer Madison Beer has been linked to some major names in the entertainment world. Professional athlete Justin Herbert has been her boyfriend since (at least) last year. Now, the two have announced that they are engaged! Madison Beer attends the 68th GRAMMY Awards on February 01, 2026. (Photo Credit: Brianna Bryson/WireImage) Congratulations! On Tuesday, July 28, Herbert and Beer took to their respective Instagram pages to share the news. The photos show the two together in what is clearly an engagement photoshoot. Additionally, we see some woodworking that reads “Mr. and Mrs. Herbert.” The caption on the photoset reads: “meet my fiancé.” In the past, Beer has dated the likes of Jack Gilinsky and Brooklyn Beckham. (Beer came out as bi about a decade ago, and has had relationships with women, though if she had any high profile entanglements, they kept things under wraps. Her last major romance was Nick Austin, an internet personality. As of October 2025, she and Herbert were in a romance. The public does not yet know when, officially, they began dating. With this announcement on July 28, 2026, Madison Beer and Justin Herbert shared that they are engaged! (Image Credit: Instagram) Good for them! Herbert is entering his seventh season with the Los Angeles Chargers. He is a star quarterback from a family that includes other professional athletes. While he famously has not enjoyed much success in the playoffs, Justin is still young, and his prime playing days might still be ahead of him. Whatever the case, he’s already a winner in the game of love. It’s clear that he’s one lucky guy! Beer’s history is perhaps better known, at least in celebrity gossip circles. She is a singer who rose to fame after Justin Bieber boosted one of her songs when she was only 13. Being a child star had its burdens, especially when explicit photos of her leaked without her consent when she was still a teenager. She’s now an adult in her late twenties, and has spent the past decade or so topping charts. (She also worked with Mattel to produce “We Are Monster High,” which is a niche piece of trivia.) Our heartfelt congratulations go out to Beer and to Herbert on their engagement news. Madison Beer & Justin Herbert: Engaged! was originally published on The Hollywood Gossip. View the full article

Reading Time: 2 minutes Late last week, Meghan Markle shared cozy photos of her kids. She and Prince Harry had spent days at Princess Diana’s childhood home, and Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet enjoyed the sprawling family estate. Cute, right? Wrong! Royalists are accusing the duchess of being “obscene” and “vulgar.” Why? Duchess of Sussex and Founder of As Ever Meghan Markle speaks onstage during Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit 2025. (Photo Credit: Leigh Vogel/Getty Images for Fortune Media) Family visit or ‘obscene’ PR move? For a quick recap, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent a few days earlier in July spending time on the Spencer family’s ancestral estate. Harry and Meghan have been invited to Althorp before. Unlike Harry’s paternal relatives, who have been extra weird in recent years, the couple seem to get along well with the Spencers. Photos showed Prince Archie, who is 7, and Princess Lilibet, who is 5, exploring the sprawling property. It was cute and sweet … unless you have a very specific agenda. Royalists, for example, have a very specific agenda. What issue do Royalists have? Well, ostensibly, these Instagram photos amounted to a desecration of Diana’s memory. See, Princess Diana is buried on a private island on the Althorp estate. Meghan and Harry did not share any photos of Harry’s mother’s resting place. They did not mention (or “name-drop”) Diana at all. Instead, they shared snaps of their children walking in the grass. Grass which royalists might care to touch. The Althorp estate is 13,000 acres. That makes the property over 20 times the size of Monaco. Monaco is a country. Did they exploit Princess Diana without mentioning her or showing her gravesite? Or, as The Daily Mail writer Maureen Callahan puts it, “obscene.” “Diana was buried on that island, at her family’s private residence, precisely to keep her gravesite from becoming a circus, a tourist attraction, a commodity,” the article claims. We have to emphasize that parts of Althorp are generally open to the public, though not Diana’s gravesite. The estate was closed for a couple of days in early July to accommodate Harry and Meghan and their children. “For Meghan to share this, in my opinion, is beyond callous,” the article declares. “It’s vulgar.” The article brands Harry as “traitorous” and says that these sweet family photos “sparked revulsion online and among good people everywhere.” What’s going on? Well, to be blunt, certain people are outraged by Meghan whenever she does anything. Or when other people simply speak about her in a positive or neutral tone. It doesn’t sound reasonable because it isn’t. We cannot explain it logically because it is not logical. However, in this case, there may be real royal sentiments that are opposed to Meghan and Harry and this trip. It’s clear that the Spencers are more welcoming to Harry and Meghan than the Windsors. What better way to mask this fact than by drumming up outrage over … we’re not really sure. Taking pictures of their kids a few miles from Diana’s resting place? Unforgivable, it seems. Reading Time: 2 minutes There has been a new update in the tragic case of Nolan Wells. The circumstances of the teenager’s death remain shrouded in mystery. However, a claim that he was “drinking heavily” has come to light. Does that tell us how he died? People listen as attorney Ben Crump holds a press conference with Elmore Wonsley and Christine Wells-Wonsley, the parents of Nolan Wells, on July 22, 2026. (Photo Credit: Scott Olson/Getty Images) ‘Drinking heavily with friends’ 18-year-old Wells vanished after partying with friends on July 4, 2026. He was later found face-down, still in his swim trunks. After two days in this state on the beach, his identity was confirmed with dental records. Now, ABC News reports that witnesses told investigators that Wells was “drinking heavily with friends” during the fateful trip to Horn Island. What does that tell us? From the start, investigators have suspected that Wells may have died by drowning. (He was found in swim trunks and along the beach.) It is more likely for someone who has been drinking heavily, as Wells allegedly was, to drown accidentally. Certainly, it is a preferable answer to someone having been struck hard enough to render them unconscious in the water or physically held underwater. Those images of a homicide — deliberate or accidental — have plagued Wells’ loved ones and the general public since news first broke of his death. Is the case now over? We need to wait for the toxicology report (among other things) Obviously not. For one thing, friends reporting that Wells was “drinking heavily” — those precise words coming by way of what searchers were informed when given a description of Wells on July 5 — doesn’t really tell us much. Alcohol consumption impairs judgment and can cause someone to collapse. A sufficiently intoxicated victim could certainly have accidentally slipped and fallen and been brought in by the tide. They could also have fallen asleep in the sand and been overtaken by high tide. But we do not actually know how much alcohol may have been in Wells’ system when he died. The Medical Examiner’s Office’s toxicology tests will be part of the official autopsy results. And those are still pending. Mississippi authorities have believed that Wells drowned. His family wants real answers. And so does the broader community. A young Black man’s mysterious death is, too often in the history of our nation, not an accident. Everyone wants to be sure. Even if Wells was drinking, that would potentially make it easier for an unknown adversary to surprise or overpower him, such as by striking him on the back of the head. Whatever happened, Wells’ family deserves the truth. They deserve closure so that they can grieve in peace. Reading Time: 2 minutes Natalie Portman has been in the spotlight since childhood, and for the most part, she’s managed to steer clear of scandal. But now, the Oscar-winner finds herself at the center of a surprising controversy involving a critically acclaimed novelist. Portman, who is currently pregnant with her third child, once described Rachel Cusk as “one of my favorite writers.” But now that Cusk is set to release a novel about an actress whose life bears a striking resemblance to Portman’s, that assessment may change. (Photo by Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images) According to The Times of London, Cusk — a major name in the literary world thanks to books like Outline and Second Place — may have based her upcoming release, The Story of M, on Portman. The book tells the story of an author who asks her famous actress friend if she can write about her. “A little while ago, I told the actor M that I was thinking of writing her autobiography. She liked the idea. She’s a good sport,” the story reportedly begins. The main character — known only as M — is a former child star who, at one point, is cast in a film about ballet (Portman won an Oscar for playing a ballerina in 2011’s Black Swan). It’s hard not to notice the similarities, and insiders say Portman feels “betrayed” and “outraged” and is attempting to “distance herself” from the book. “It’s very identifiably a portrait of Natalie Portman that doesn’t seem to recognize her as fully human, suggesting she’s been subsumed by her own fame,” one literary critic who’s close to the situation told the Times. “But she seems one of the last actresses you’d say that about, because she is highly intelligent and present. I think it dehumanizes her. Her not naming Portman is her way of pretending this is in the dominion of fiction, rather than her being a real person that you have responsibilities to.” In the final pages of The Story of M, the title character confronts the narrator. M complains that her portrayal is “hurtful” and contains “things she herself didn’t recognize” about herself. “It isn’t you,” the narrator pushes back. “It isn’t anyone.” Is that Cusk’s way of pre-empting claims that the main character was based on Portman? Or is she sincere in her assertion that there was no real-life inspiration for M? We may never know. But it sounds like Natalie has already reached her conclusion.
