For weeks, experts flooded the internet, TV, and social media with warnings NOT to star at the phenomenon without the proper eyewear, as it can cause permanent damage. Obviously, we don’t know – except to say Jason is SAYING he is! The caption he wrote reads, “I can see it without my glasses.” So… joke or weird flex? Is he poking fun at everything for the attention or just getting lucky that his retinas aren’t burned off? Ok, that’s extreme. Most experts agree that starring at the eclipse would unlikely to completely blind you, but its powerful rays can still burn and damage your retinas quite a bit. Jonathan Majors has learned his legal fate. And it has left nearly every observer around the globe scratching their heads in befuddlement. A few months after Majors was found guilty of domestic violence — in connection with an alleged fight between him and his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari — the Marvel actor was sentence on Monday afternoon. Inside of a New York City courtroom, a judge decreed that the star must attend a one-year “in person batterers” intervention program in Los Angeles. Moreover, Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Michael Gaffey ruled that Majors must continue mental health counseling and stay away from Jabbari. There was at least some chance Majors could have been sentenced to up to a year in prison instead. A few weeks after the verdict, meanwhile, Majors spoke out in an ABC News interview. The Challenge returns to MTV in 2024 with host TJ Lavin at the helm, who just a couple of years ago survived a two, terrible accidents on his bike. As fans prepare to watch their favorites compete on newest season of All-Stars, let’s look back at how TJ himself recovered from two insane physical challenges, one that left him in a coma. TJ, a veteran BMX pro dirt jumper, never stopped riding after he segued into hosting, and was still doing incredibly difficult stunts well into his 40s. Cue the summer of 2018, where TJ found himself with a lacerated face and injured knee after a BMX accident in Las Vegas went wrong. On Monday, August 27, via his Instagram Stories, TJ shared a clip of the accident, with the biker missing a jump at a dirt course. T.J. The new jump that I’ve been working on all month, I finally hit it … and overshot it by a lot. Yeah … 41, still having fun.” Thankfully, this time around, he managed to escape major injury. “The CAT scan was negative, no brain problems,” he told his followers. “And the knee came back, no knee problems. So, just little stitches here and there. No worries. Keeping it real.” Within a few hours, he was dischared and sent home and was back on the course before anyone knew it. It’s a marvel he’s still riding on the course at all, give the fact that 8 years earlier, he was in medically induced coma after a similar accident! In October 2010, TJ was critically injured and hospitalized after crashing on a different dirt bikecourse in Las Vegas. In what was billed at the time as his last ride as a professional biker, TJ suffered brain bleeding, a broken wrist and was put into a medically induced coma for 9 days after the accident. Very scary indeed! Thankfully, doctors at the time helped him make a full recovery, though he did have to stay in the hospital for over a month. Video of the crash was shared the following season, to talk about the extent of TJ’s injuries. Did TJ Lavin Suffer Brain Damage? Only a few weeks after he was released from the hospital did TJ return to the set of The Challenge to film the upcoming season. The 21st season was called “Rivals” and was set in Costa Rica. “I wish I could tell you how it felt to walk back out into the show as the host after the brain injury that I had, but I really cannot remember,” TJ admitted on Instagram at the time, via Heavy. He admitted that in the weeks after his traumatic brain injury, he suffered “short term memory loss” among other mental issues. However, as of today, 14 years removed from that incident, and he’s feeling and looking great! You love to see it! This coming directly off the cowboy boot heels of Beyonce’s country songs topping the charts immediately after releasing. “Texas Hold ‘Em,” already made history as it’s success made her the first Black woman with a #1 country song. Ever. Clearly, it seems the Beyhive’s vibing with the Queens new sound, but what about true blue country fans? And what about solidly country artists? We’re sad to say there is division on that front, with certain group of people are absolutely fuming that she’s part of the music genre at all. On Tuesday, February 20, Billboard announced that Beyonce’s “Texas Hold ‘Em” has hit the Number 1 spot on the Hot Country Songs chart. Rolling Stone has confirmed the significance — that Beyonce is the first Black woman to top that charge since 1958, when it came into being. Then, after the Cowboy Carter album dropped, Bey made history again, becoming the the first Black woman to come in at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. Beyonce announcing new music at the most-watched Super Bowl in history is a very winning combination. Initially, a Country music radio station declined to play Beyonce’s music … even though it is of the genre. The fan outcry from the Beyhive and from music fans alike was intense and very justified. The radio station reversed course, with overwhelmingly positive results. In fact, most other radio DJs have noted that they’d love it if Beyonce’s fans, who are only dipping their toes into the Country music pond for her sake, find that they enjoy other songs of the genre. And yet, there is still a fierce debate over whether Beyonce’s album should even be considered country at all! Not Everyone Is A Fan, While Others Defend Beyonce With Their Whole Heart But it’s not just fans who are divided. There are celebs who are at odd over Beyonce’s new music venture as well. The Dukes of Hazzard alum John Schneider whined to fringe-right platform OAN that this is a case of “lefties in the entertainment industry” trying to “seize control” over country music. The has-been actor suggested that Beyonce is “just like a dog in a dog walk park. You know, every dog has to mark every tree, right? So that’s what’s going on here.” Shocking words! But not necessarily surprising words from a man whose most famous work features America’s most notorious symbol of racial hatred on the hood of the show’s “iconic” car. News in mid-February. “The more the merrier,” Lainey Wilson told Extra, as you can see below. “[Country music] is about that storytelling. It’s about making people feel at home. Over the past month or so, the Brown family has been in the news for the most tragic of reasons: Garrison Brown, the 25-year old son of Kody and Janelle, took his own life in early March via a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to authorities in Arizona. It’s all so very sad. Now, meanwhile, we’re hearing that the world may be hearing a lot more from/about the cast members who make up Sister Wives — due to what may be a bombshell memoir. (TLC) According to Mykeltki Brown, via a recent Live Stream on YouTube alongside her husband Tony, a few of Kody’s children have talked about writing a memoir of some kind. “We actually have considered writing a book,” Mykelti told listeners, adding that she got tired of waiting on her brothers and sisters to start the process after this idea was first broached. “I think I honestly gave up waiting to write a book [with my siblings] and that’s one of the reasons we did Patreon.” Mykelti is the fifth child of 18 born to Kody and went on to say that the book may still happen down the line. First, because it would be the loss of jewelry. Second, because it is generally unsafe to wear shiny jewelry into the ocean — as it can attract sharks, which are notoriously curious. That was when Kourt hit Kim with an amazing line. “Kim,” she coolly advised her younger sister. “There’s people that are dying.” Now, Kris is repeating the quote towards Kourtney. Some ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashian’ moments will always be with us Kourtney’s message to Kim was wise and a healthy dose of reality. But her delivery and the contrast to Kim’s (understandable!) distress made it hilarious. In fact, we’d go so far as to say that “Kim, there’s people that are dying” is an all-time reality TV line. Much like America’s Next Top Model‘s equivalent, “I just want to tell you that some people have war in their countries.” Is Kourtney Kardashian shading Kim on purpose? Ordinarily, we’d say that this is just a fun, playful callback — along the lines of “don’t be f–king rude” or “it’s what she deserves.” These are iconic family moments that have become enduring memes. So, she dove in the ocean, put on goggles, found it, and then she went back and found the back of it.” Kim announced: “That’s how clear the water is in Bora Bora, so, guys, the earring has been found.” Kourtney Kardashian might be deliberate shading Kim Kourtney and Kim have gotten on each other’s nerves for many years. When things were all said and done, the divorce settlement wasn’t ideal — Clarkson was forced to pay millions to Blackstock — but at the time, at least she could say it was all over with. In March 2024, Kelly filed a fresh lawsuit against her ex-husband and former manager Brandon Blackstock. She claims in the motion that Brandon and his father Narvel Blackstock’s management firm, Starstruck Entertainment, violated labor laws since the beginning of their relationship with Clarkson, which started in 2007. Clarkson alleges in the lawsuit that Starstruck “was not licensed as talent agents” and argues that the firm never “obtained a talent agency license from the California Labor Commissioner.” To put in plainly, Kelly’s legal team is claiming that because Brandon and his family weren’t licensed talent agents, all the money they received while working for her, “including, but not limited to, any and all commissions, fees, profits, advances, producing fees, or other monies,” should be returned. How much could that even be?! This comes just months after a California agency ordered him to repay the singer over $2.6 million. Kelly won that previous lawsuit – though Brandon is appealing – with the courts ruling her ex must pay back millions of dollars for fees he took out of her work on The Voice, the Billboard Music Awards and other projects. Oh, you thought the divorce was settled? Not by a long shot! In fact, this divorce may continue to be complicated for many, many years to come. Kelly and Brandon tied the knot in 2013, ushering in a new era fro the American Idol singer. While they were married, the couple welcomed two children: daughter River Rose and son Remington Alexander. But the romance wasn’t meant to last. Kelly filed for a divorce in 2020 – and that’s where all the trouble started. Almost immediately, Brandon and the Starstruck company sued Kelly for unpaid commissions. Then, as the divorce stretched on, Brandon made demands for everything from property to millions of dollars. The Divorce Settlement In 2022, after two years of contentious legal battle, Kelly and Brandon agreed to a divorce settlement. On the family side of things, they agreed to joint legal custody of their children, with Kelly obtaining primary custody. Court documents revealed that Kelly was on the hook to pay monthly spousal support payments of $115,000 through Jan. 31, 2024, as well as $45,601 in child support monthly until the children reach 18. On top of all that, she was required to pay her ex-husband a one-time payment of $1,326,161. But the divorce settlement only settled that – their divorce. Their lives were so intertwined, as he acted as her manager, that the legal waring continues, as mentioned above. And honestly, we don’t see it ending ANY time soon. She how things have panned out for her, we can’t blame her, but it’s interesting that she didn’t even want to lock it down to begin with. As it usually is with situations like this, she did for him. “[Brandon] had children, a religious background, and it was important, I think, for him. But I’ve never been that person. Because I’ve been through a couple divorces in my family, I just don’t like to put any weight on it. It can happen; it doesn’t have to happen. Clarkson explained that over that summer, when she would have been filming blind auditions for The Voice, she was instead spending quality time with her kids in Montana. “The kids were with me, and with their dad,” she said. “It was nice because they usually have to travel a lot because of our separation. Just a few years ago, Country singer Morgan Wallen’s N-word tirade caught the attention of people who’d never heard his music. Unfortunately, he has reportedly pivoted from hurling slurs to hurling chairs. As in an actual physical chair. From a rooftop and onto the street below. That is not only bad behavior, but it’s a crime. Especially since Wallen had the bad luck of allegedly yeeting the chair awfully close to a pair of police. According to a report by Nashville’s local News Channel 5, some officers were standing on Broadway, the location of Chief’s Bar as well as Garth Brook’s new honky tonk. A chair came hurtling down off of the roof and struck the ground in front of them. The officers went into the establishment and spoke to staff members. Reportedly, the Chief’s Bar staff identified Morgan Wallen as the culprit. According to their accounts, he tossed the chair off of the roof and then laughed about it. Authorities arrested Wallen on three counts of reckless endangerment. That applies to the two officers who were reportedly dangerously close to the chair and for the general danger to the public. Additionally, Wallen faces a charge of disorderly conduct. As tends to happen when one throws a chair. Wallen’s bond was set at $15,250. Davidson County Jail released him at around 3:30 AM. In a good-news, bad-news twist, he was already planning to be in Nashville on that date — as he has tour performances on May 2 and May 3 in the city. This is, to say the least, not Wallen’s first brush with controversy. Back in May of 2020, authorities arrested Wallen on disorderly conduct charges and public intoxication charges. To his credit, he made a thorough apology, disavowing the slur and asking fans to not try to defend him. Of course, this news came after Wallen was facing professional consequences. Some question how sincere an apology, however thorough, can be if someone has to apologize for work. And others wonder how much the apology matters, as it’s difficult to understand why he would be hurling slurs in the first place. Most people can probably agree that while hurling a restaurant chair off of a rooftop is a dirtbag move, it would have been worse if it had injured someone. The reason that this is a crime is because doing so requires a reckless disregard for public safety. Truth be told, getting arrested on these charges is still something that Wallen can “come back from” as an entertainer. Rough, dangerous behavior in a bar isn’t okay or excusable, but it’s seldom evil.
