Hickerson’s attorney, Sloan Ellis, issued a brief statement Thursday as questions continue to surround the actress’ death at age 36. “Hayden’s death remains under investigation and it is important to allow that investigation to proceed,” Ellis told TMZ. First responders attempted to revive the actress, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. A police report subsequently confirmed that Hickerson and his brother, Zach, were at the residence when emergency personnel arrived. According to the report, Hickerson showed police a bag containing medications Panettiere had been taking. Authorities have stressed that the investigation remains ongoing. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office previously said an autopsy found no signs of trauma that contributed to Panettiere’s death, while her official cause and manner of death remain pending additional investigation and testing. Hickerson and Panettiere had a complicated history. The pair began dating in 2018 and endured multiple breakups and reconciliations. Their relationship also included allegations of domestic violence, with Hickerson pleading no contest to felony charges involving Panettiere in 2021. Earlier this week, police visited Hickerson’s family home as part of a probe to determine if criminal conduct played a role in Hayden’s death. He and his family spent quality time with Charles. They visited the ancestral home of his late mother, Princess Diana. Harry was already expected to return to Britain in September for a children’s charity — one that he has supported for over 20 years. And, of course, for events tied to the Invictus Games. Now, news has broken that Harry and Meghan are preparing to leave their idyllic lives in Montecito, California and return to their homeland. Perhaps this really is about family — giving their children time and memories with their grandfather before he is gone. But maybe this is about getting away from the rot that threatens to destroy the United States from within. In January 2026, Donald Trump baselessly claimed that NATO allies had “stayed a little back” from the front lines in Afghanistan. Prince Harry actually served in Afghanistan (and famously so). He pushed back at the time, noting that he “made lifelong friends” and also “lost friends” during the war. (At that time, Trump felt frustrated that NATO allies would not simply give him Greenland. His mad king behavior has been getting worse and worse.) “Boy, what she’s done to that guy,” Trump would later vaguely gripe, referring to Meghan Markle in May. Trump reacts with fury to any criticism, but covets fawning attention from famous people. This has left him incredibly frustrated since his rise to power a decade ago — and prompted him to react with whining and complaining when people accurately describe his tyrannical behavior. ‘They are moving back to Britain because they don’t like President Trump’ When People reported on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s plans to cross the Atlantic, the potential political angle initially avoided notice. However, it was not long before folks on social media began to take notice. America’s very own Magda Goebbels, Katie Miller tweeted a screenshot of a portion of the article. “…They have made no secret of their disillusionment with the current White House,” the segment reads. “With the midterm elections fast approaching, concerns about the direction of the U.S. loom large for many….” Miller then accused: “They are moving back to Britain because they don’t like President Trump.” She also baselessly claimed that the millionaire couple are “broke.” Quote-tweeting an article about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, white nationalist podcaster Katie Miller claimed that the two were fleeing to the UK to avoid Donald Trump. Moving to a new country is expensive, time-consuming, emotionally loaded, and hardly automatic. Obtaining a visa, let alone the equivalent of a green card, is often daunting or even impossible. Besides, most people decide to wait out what’s likely to be four years. This time, it’s different. Some folks, particularly communities of color and LGBTQ+ Americans, are having to move between states and, in some countries, leave as refugees fleeing persecution. Not everyone. But as the Trump regime continues, it’s likely to only get worse. But Harry and Meghan are rich, famous, and live in California. If this insulation weren’t enough, they could probably just move to Canada without much of an issue. Canada, however, is not any closer to ailing King Charles. Reading Time: 2 minutes The murder trial of Lindsay Clancy has been captivating the nation for several weeks now. And as the defense makes its case, Clancy — who admitted to killing her three young children in 2023 — is receiving a surprising surge of support. For many of those attending, however, the gathering was about more than Clancy herself. Supporters said they wanted to call attention to what they see as failures in the mental health system, particularly when women seek treatment for postpartum mental illness. “Women are being dismissed, neglected and ignored when we speak up,” supporter April Vincent told the Associated Press. “We’re scared because nobody takes us seriously.” Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, does not dispute that his client killed her children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan. Instead, he argues that she was suffering from severe mental illness, including postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder, and should not be held criminally responsible. The defense has argued that Clancy repeatedly sought help before the January 2023 killings. She reportedly saw multiple mental health providers, took medication, called a suicide hotline, visited an emergency room, and admitted herself to a psychiatric hospital. Prosecutors have presented a very different account. They allege Clancy deliberately planned the killings and sent her husband out of the house shortly before the children died. They have also questioned the seriousness of Clancy’s subsequent suicide attempt and presented testimony that she did not always take her prescribed medication. Outside the courthouse, supporters applauded Reddington when he appeared. Organizer Renee Kimball urged the crowd to trust the defense attorney, telling them that Reddington “has Lindsay’s fight.” The group later formed a circle, recited the Lord’s Prayer, and raised their arms to form hearts with their hands. Inside the courtroom, hospital chaplain Sheila Cavanaugh provided emotional testimony about her more than 200 visits with Clancy following the killings. Cavanaugh recalled that Clancy appeared emotionally flat after regaining consciousness and told her, “I’m so glad my children are safe.” The chaplain also testified that Clancy described hearing a voice telling her that she and her children would not be safe unless she followed its commands. Clancy has pleaded not guilty to the murder charges. The case has thrust postpartum psychosis — a rare and severe condition — into the national spotlight. And for the women supporting Clancy outside the courthouse, the trial has become a broader fight over whether women suffering from serious postpartum mental illness are being heard before it’s too late. What happened next was a fiery explosion from within the right-wing media ecosystem, with everyone from members of the Trump family to pundits to podcasters practically frothing at the mouth over the mention of Natalie Harp. Officially, the 35-year-old blonde woman is some sort of assistant to Trump. She is essentially his shadow, penning his most rancid social media posts and printing a carefully curated supply of alleged good news. Unofficially, many struggle to understand this relationship. Famously, she also credited Trump for saving her life after he signed a law allowing people to try experimental treatments. (It’s true that she had bone cancer, but medical experts have said that the treatment that she apparently used was already accessible.) By all accounts, the only man of any importance in her life is Trump. And he seems to occupy not only her professional life, but her thoughts and emotions. Is she Donald Trump’s mistress? Some accused Senator Ossoff of claiming that Trump was having an extramarital affair with Natalie Harp. He neither said nor implied anything of the sort. Which calls into question why so many conservatives seemed to jump onto this same talking point. At this time, there is no evidence of any sexual relationship between the two. Even Natalie’s brother, Preston Harp, believes that it is not a physical attraction on her part — even though he is critical of his sister’s association with Trump and hopes that she comes to her senses soon. Still, this is a woman who writes emotional letters to Trump — apologizing for “embarrassing” him in public and openly gushing over him and signing them: “With all my heart, Natalie.” Unfortunately, the true explanation appears to be stranger and creepier than a sexual affair. However, among the elite ranks of far right Christian nationalists, this is a known and familiar dynamic where she is effectively worshiping Trump. Trump values few things more than loyalty. Not loyalty to others — ask anyone whom he abandoned on the decoy plane last month. (Notably, he took Natalie with him.) Trump loves to be adored and appears to have lost touch with reality by surrounding himself with sycophants of this degree. According to one new report, Hayden attempted to have alcohol and nitrous oxide cannisters (known as “whippits”) delivered to her room during a recent trip to Nashville. A source tells Page Six that Hayden made the trip as part of her promotional tour for her memoir. The source added that Panettiere was only “there for a day,” and she “wasn’t happy” that her items were not delivered. In her memoir, Hayden wrote extensively about her struggles with alcoholism. Nitrous oxide can be huffed for a brief high. Hayden’s publicist and friend Kasey Kitchen denies the allegation. “She was in Nashville for a short amount of time and slept for most of it. She also had private security with her,” Kitchen said. Two days prior to the Nashville trip, Kitchen appeared alongside Hayden during her interview with Tamron Hall. During the episode, Hayden spoke candidly about the toll alcohol had taken on her health. “When I got to the point of looking in the mirror and seeing my eyes had turned yellow, and that I didn’t recognize my body anymore and I went into that doctor’s office and got a blood test, and he told me ‘If you don’t stop, you’re going to be looking at a liver transplant,’” Panettiere explained. Hall replied: “So, you’re 30 years old, and the doctor’s telling you, ‘You’re 30 years old, Hayden. You will not live to see 35.'” “Yeah, [the doctor said], ‘If you do not stop immediately.’ And, I was like, ‘I can’t do that to me,’ and if I can’t do it for myself, I’m going to do it for my child,” Hayden said. Reading Time: 2 minutes Even before his disappearance over two months ago, Mitch McConnell was a shell of his former self. These days, some believe that he is so unwell that he is unable to return to the Senate. Others believe that McConnell is dead and that those in power are concealing his passing until the time is right. Footage of McConnell struggling to figure out how to vote on the Senate floor isn’t really encouraging. Take a look: Sen. (Photo Credit: Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images) Mitch McConnell seemed lost and dazed on the Senate floor Unless you count dubious “proof of life” photos that do not actually prove anything, no one seems to have seen Senator McConnell in over two months. The Kentucky politician was hospitalized on June 14. Based upon eyewitness reports, he did not seem to be doing well as he was hauled away in an ambulance. Since then, extremely reasonable people have been asking for actual proof that he is alive and well. But it looks like, even before his hospitalization, McConnell was struggling to even go through the motions of serving his constituents. As TMZ has documented from CSPAN footage, McConnell appears to have been confused and disoriented on the Senate floor. Notably, this was in early June — 10 days prior to his hospitalization. The June 4th session involved Senators voting 29 times during an 18-hour span of time in what’s called a “vote-a-rama.” McConnell seemed to struggle with simple yes-or-no votes. As you can see in the video, everyone from McConnell’s chief of staff to a clerk to Senator Bernie Moreno seems to coach McConnell after he votes the opposite of the way that he presumably would have wanted to. An experienced Senator should be able to cast votes without guidance The video shows McConnell changing a vote after being “corrected” by others. It also shows people visually show him how to vote, as if he has forgotten and needs guidance. McConnell does seem to follow their, ah, helpful guidance. Later in the recording ,we can see McConnell sitting stationary for 6 hours while the Senators around him mill about. Look, perhaps he was patiently meditating. Or perhaps, however unlikely, he was high out of his mind on gummies. But most do not believe these innocuous explanations. McConnell has not been seen in public since June 14. We are now nearing the end of August. Even without the footage of him shuffling while seemingly disoriented, people suspected that his health event either caused such catastrophic damage that he can no longer feign wellness … or simply ended his life. Some even speculated that his alleged death might be announced in August — after the deadline to hold a special election to replace him had passed. As it stands, the people of Kentucky are down 50% of their Senate representation. And most folks do not expect to see McConnell again unless there is an open casket. Hey, maybe we’re all wrong. Perhaps he is really in a rehab facility regaining his tortoise strength and will return stronger than ever to the Senate. But we have to ask ourselves: what explanation is most likely? The troubled star admitted he’s drinking alcohol every day during a recent probation status hearing, according to a court document obtained by Complex. LaBeouf appeared without an attorney at the August 19 hearing and told officials he has been checking in with his probation officer. But despite his past troubles with drinking, LaBeouf apparently isn’t steering clear of booze while completing those requirements! According to the document, the actor acknowledged drinking daily while also saying he had declined mental-health treatment. LaBeouf’s latest legal headache stems from a February incident at a New Orleans bar during Mardi Gras. Shia was accused of repeatedly punching a man outside the establishment before returning and allegedly becoming even more aggressive. Several people reportedly attempted to restrain him. After being allowed to get up in the hope that he would leave, LaBeouf allegedly struck the same man again before punching another man in the nose. The actor ultimately pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery and was sentenced to two years of probation in June. At the time, LaBeouf’s attorney, Sarah Chervinsky, attempted to downplay the incident, calling it a “minor Mardi Gras bar tussle.” “The police and District Attorney’s investigation proved exactly what Shia LaBeouf said from the beginning — that this was nothing more than a minor Mardi Gras bar tussle,” Chervinsky said. “There is no evidence it was about bias or prejudice, which is why the state only charged these low level misdemeanors. Mr. LaBeouf came to court today wanting to take accountability for his part in what happened, and he has done so.” Now, however, LaBeouf has another reason to take his probation seriously. His next hearing is scheduled for September 23, although he reportedly won’t be there because he’ll be filming a movie. And there’s a pretty serious consequence hanging over his head if he fails to complete his probation: six months behind bars. For now, LaBeouf appears to be balancing court-ordered treatment with a daily drinking habit — a combination that could make his road out of legal trouble considerably more complicated. In describing the cosmetic genital surgery that she’d undergone, she likened herself to her daughter. At the time, her daughter was one year old. Now, that clip has resurfaced — and the backlash drove Jessi to (temporarily) delete her account. As an April 2025 guest on the ‘Off The Vine’ podcast, Jessi Draper made an unfortunate comparison. Her words have come back to haunt her. (Image Credit: YouTube) ‘I look like my daughter [down there]’ During The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives‘ first season, Jessi invited her castmates to a painting party. This was prior to “getting my cookie redone,” as she put it. She was referring to cosmetic surgery on her vulva. (Child safety experts have cautioned against silly nicknames for genitals, as there are documented cases of children reporting an adult touching them inappropriately to other adults without being understood because they use nonsensical terms like “cookie.”) Specifically, Jessi underwent a labiaplasty to reduce the size of her labia minora. There is sometimes weird shaming over the shape and size of genitals, including of labia. Some folks would rather go under the knife than worry about what a partner thinks about their naked body. Jessi spoke repeatedly about this surgery (neither her first nor her last time getting cosmetic work, and yes many fans are concerned that this is a compulsive behavior) on SLOMW. She also opened up on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Off The Vine podcast in 2025. This is where she got herself into trouble. “They cut the meat off. Like, you know how you have the little things inside the flaps?” Jessi asked, reminding everyone that the women of SLOMW may be victims of educational neglect as well as extreme religious upbringings. “They just, like, cut it off and then sew it back up … ” Jessi continued, accidentally describing a huge swathe of surgeries. “I’m like, ‘I look like my daughter [down there],” Jessi announced, referring to her then-one-year-old. “I’m like, brand new again.” That poor choice of words has resurfaced Comparing her adult genitals to that of her actual human baby-slash-toddler’s did not go over well. She is a grown woman in her thirties. While she wasn’t necessarily sexualizing her daughter, it was still … icky. (There is absolutely a conversation about how society expects women to look young forever in ways that make the comparison flattering to Jessi. Imagine, for contrast, a man comparing his penis to a baby’s. Suddenly, it sounds super weird and no longer a compliment.) Without delving into an ongoing feud … Jessi is currently in one. And that is why a very specific clip from Jessi’s 2025 interview was posted this week. It did not go over well. Jessi actually briefly deactivated her social media amidst the negative backlash. Now, however, it is back. She is a public figure and she has brand deals to support, no matter how many comments shr eceived. “Someone told me when I got [my labiaplasty] done I’d look brand new and like the day I was born again down there so it was a play on that,” Jessi said about the backlash after the initial interview. “I’m sorry!” She also called it “a bad joke” and explained that she “didn’t mean any harm by it.” We believe her! One thoughtless comment probably says a lot more about our society’s disturbing beauty standards than it does about Jessi as a person. Yes, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will return to Harry’s home country later this month with their two children, according to a report from NBC News. The family is expected to remain in Britain for an “extended period,” with Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, reportedly set to begin school there in September. Buckingham Palace and Harry’s spokesperson have declined to comment on the move, but many believe the couple may wish to be closer to King Charles as he battles cancer. Still, the decision represents a remarkable turnaround for a couple who spent the past six years building a new life in California. Harry and Meghan famously left the UK in 2020, eventually settling in Montecito, where they purchased a reported $14.7 million mansion. Their departure was followed by a series of explosive interviews and projects that exposed deep divisions within the Royal Family, including their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, their Netflix docuseries and Harry’s memoir, Spare. Harry’s relationship with his father has also been strained for years. But that relationship appears to be improving. Charles was diagnosed with cancer in 2024, and Harry, Meghan and their children visited Britain last month. The trip marked the first time the King had seen Archie and Lilibet since 2022. And while Charles reportedly welcomed the idea of having his youngest son and grandchildren closer, the monarch apparently didn’t know about the family’s plans until Sunday. The brothers have been estranged for years, and there is little indication that Harry and Meghan’s return to Britain will magically repair that relationship. Some of those ventures have been more successful than others, but the Sussexes have continued to maintain their public profiles from California. Jenelle and David finalized their divorce on Friday, July 11 in 2025. They had a nasty court battle. And, naturally, Jenelle had a protective order against David for reasons that we likely do not need to explain to anyone who has followed the horrific details of their story. However, early this year, David was allowed to fly to Vegas to visit Ensley in the hospital. Unfortunately, David and Jenelle rekindled their sick entanglement. David even moved in with Jenelle. Brand new information: terrible grown men do not change As Teen Mom fans may recall, Jenelle insisted that she and David were merely “coparenting” while sharing a home. (Just for the record, considering the charges that David is facing and everything else that we’ve heard about him, coparenting with the guy isn’t good, either.) Even so, she referred to him more than once as her “man.” During this time, David seemed to worm his way back into her life at every level. For obvious reasons, the relationship between boss and employee has received a fair amount of scrutiny, and Harp’s own brother has claimed that she has an “unhealthy obsession” with Trump. The Times obtained letters written by Harp to Trump, one of which finds her apologizing for walking a golf course in Scotland while her boss rolled along in a cart. “I also am sorry if I was an embarrassment walking the course in Scotland,” Harp allegedly wrote, adding: “I want things to always be right between us. I also know I’ve been distracted all week (forgetting to eat throughout the days, and even forgetting to sleep, and only catching a couple hours at a time).” She reportedly signed the letter, “With all my heart, Natalie,” which is not generally the tone one strikes when communicating with an employer. And that’s not the only time that Natalie tested the conventions of workplace behavior. According to a new report from CNN, Harp once got into a “screaming match” with fellow staffers in the lobby of Trump Tower. The then-former president was preparing to be transported to a nearby courthouse, and though there was no space left in his SUV, Hart was “determined not to be left behind.” To solve the problem, Harp reportedly climbed into the trunk and rode to the courthouse like a spare tire. The actor and Real Housewife is adding her name to the list of those who believe that Lindsay is innocent of her crimes — and covering for her husband. It is critical that we acknowledge that neither Clancy nor her attorney is claiming that she did not do it. Her legal defense is is that she was not in control over her actions due to extreme postpartum psychosis, profound mental illness, and alleged overmedication. (We have reported on tragic cases of likely postpartum psychosis just recently. It is much rarer than postpartum depression, but it can happen.) After taking the lives of her children, Clancy attempted to end her own life. She lived — but is now paralyzed and must use a wheelchair. This is a complex case. Whenever postpartum psychosis leads to a tragedy, many people have strong feelings regarding the victims, the perpetrator, and anyone whom they might blame for not taking action sooner. Unfortunately, conspiracy theorists are weighing in and making claims about Clancy’s guilt or innocence that no one at the trial is making. And unfortunately, Lisa Rinna is one of them. This week, the Bravolebrity took to social media to announce: “Alright he did it! Patrick did it. Patrick’s the one who did it.” She is referring to Patrick Clancy, husband of Lindsay. And she is accusing him of killing their three children and allowing his wife to take the fall. Well, she’ll explain. “I also heard that women typically don’t strangle … that’s awful to even say,” she said. “But that isn’t what a woman would do. They don’t strangle.” Rinna then cited her therapist as the source of this actually somewhat true but missing key context belief. “What do they do? Well, they poison. Or they drown them.” Rinna then claimed: “And she looks at me and she goes, ‘He did it.'” The opinion of Rinna’s therapist notwithstanding, it is true that women who commit murder (when not simply using a gun or an accomplice) are historically more likely to use poison. This gendered aspect of violence makes a lot of sense, and no, it is not the result of some sort of intrinsic feminine trait. If you are part of a group that is statistically (but not always) smaller and less muscular but you are also part of a group that is too often (but not always) expected to feed people, you have two incentives to use a harder-to-trace murder weapon than someone who might have an easy time bludgeoning someone to death and then disposing of the remains. Poisoning someone’s food, their drink, their medicine, their toiletries … these are the acts of intentional homicide. Which is not what basically anyone in Clancy’s life believes happened. Instead, it’s believed that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis. This can take various forms, but a massive hormonal imbalance combined with other factors can cause someone’s protective instincts to backfire, making them a danger to their children. And this is the sad result. Clancy was not trying to get away with killing her kids. She was not thinking clearly and she also tried to end her own life. Additionally, she was bigger and stronger than the victims. Some of Rinna’s unproven statements on other topics sound very believable. This one different. We now know Hayden was at an apartment complex with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, at the time of her death. And with Panettiere’s death still under investigation, police have made a notable visit to a Hickerson family home. Two Greenville Police Department vehicles reportedly arrived at the South Carolina residence of Hickerson’s grandmother, Betty Ellison, at approximately 8:20 a.m. Witnesses say an officer knocked repeatedly on the front door while another attempted to access the home from the side. The officers left after roughly three minutes. TMZ later reported that police returned about 90 minutes later to “conduct a welfare check.” A Greenville Police Department representative confirmed the visit but did not specify who the officers were checking on. Hickerson’s brother, Zach, 38, was reportedly inside the home during the initial visit. Brian, 37, and Zach had both been seen at the property the previous day. The residence is approximately five miles from the Greenville Airbnb where Panettiere was found unresponsive on Sunday, August 16. The 36-year-old actress was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m. after emergency responders attempted to revive her. Dispatch audio reportedly referenced a possible overdose and cardiac arrest, though an official cause of death has not been released. An autopsy found “no signs of trauma” that would have contributed to Panettiere’s death. However, the investigation remains active while authorities await toxicology results. Brian was reportedly at the Airbnb when Panettiere died. According to a police report, he was asleep in another room when Zach discovered the actress unresponsive in a chair. Brian also reportedly showed officers a bag containing medications Panettiere had been taking. The circumstances surrounding Panettiere’s final days have drawn increased scrutiny because of her complicated history with Hickerson. The pair dated on and off for years, and Hickerson was convicted of felony charges related to domestic violence against the actress in 2021. They did not publicly announce this news, such as by posting it on their family website or on one of the Dillard family social media pages. Instead, Derick posted to a Facebook group titled “Northwest Arkansas Dog Talk.” The actual title, and not the AI-generated slop that Meta added to it, was: “Rehoming family dog due to upcoming military move!!” Within the post, he shared details about Fenna, the family dog of five years. Naturally, Derick Dillard is just enough of a public figure that this immediately broke containment — while not being famous enough to have someone who looks into things for him (or just, you know, having enough money to not need this job or to move). On social media, people exchanged strong opinions about this move. Many cannot imagine taking a member of the family of 5 years and just sending them to another household due to a move. However, others pointed out that this isn’t about uprooting the family to Rhode Island. It’s about the military lifestyle. Temporary military housing is often not a place for a pet — especially for a larger dog. And, according to Derick, it could be up to eight months until the Dillards are even allowed to have a dog. Panettiere, who died on Sunday at age 36, suffered serious injuries when she was thrown from a zebra while filming the 2005 movie Racing Stripes in South Africa. She later revealed that she largely kept quiet about the severity of her injuries and continued working. “I kept my mouth shut and endured the pain in my back and neck,” she wrote, explaining that the injuries continued to affect her more than 20 years later. And that pain appears to have remained a significant problem in the final months of her life. Panettiere was photographed using crutches at Los Angeles International Airport in March. Around the same time, she was experiencing a frightening episode in which she temporarily struggled to move her legs. “I quite literally woke up, and felt nothing but pins and needles from my waist down,” she said during a May interview with Women’s Health. “I wasn’t able to bend my toes, lift my foot at all.” The actress said doctors initially could not determine what was causing the problem. “It was like that for so long that I was sitting there going, ‘Oh, my gosh, am I going to be paralyzed for the rest of my life?’” she recalled. “It’s the scariest thing that’s ever happened to me physically, for sure.” Panettiere’s longtime friend and hairstylist, Erick Orellana, previously told Page Six that her back problems had become “really severe.” “At one point, it was even hard for her to move her legs,” he said, though he believed she was “starting to be on the mend.” Panettiere’s boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, reportedly told police that she was on nine different medications in the days leading up to her death. He explained that he and Natalie were raised to believe in things like American exceptionalism and to see the US as “the boss of the world.” There was also slavery apologism in their upbringing — something that Preston, at least, has clearly unlearned. “I think my sister unfortunately didn’t break out of that delusion my mom raised us with. Trump is everything my mom taught us to respect,” he lamented. “I think that’s where her infatuation for Trump comes from, honestly,” Preston speculated, “because I don’t think it’s a physical attraction. Let’s be real.” Despite obvious reasons to doubt it (we listed a few in our earlier coverage), some have suggested that Natalie is Trump’s mistress. In 2023, Trump was due in court. Being found legally responsible for committing a violent crime would have been seen as politically disqualifying just a couple of decades ago. According to Preston, Natalie jumped into the trunk of a vehicle in Trump’s motorcade. Her reason? Trump allegedly wanted her with him when he went to court, and all of the seats were full. Preston was quick to label this “an unhealthy obsession.” It is not a disposition that he understands — at least not from her side. “Trump’s best friends are people who are his fan club,” Preston accurately observed. “That’s probably why he likes her. And, like, she’s good-looking. She’s got a good personality.” ‘We all have to come together and try to make it better’ Obviously, Preston and Natalie Harp’s estrangement in recent years has likely been painful for them both. He used his appearance on CNN to issue a plea to his sister. Preston expressed a desire that Natalie change and “realize that everybody on this Earth is part of a human family and that no country is better than any other country.” He then acknowledged: “The history of the United States is unfortunate … and it shouldn’t be rewritten.” He had previously made reference to Trump’s desire to lie about American history rather than to confront past evils. Preston sagely affirmed: “We all have to come together and try to make it better.” It is probably no surprise to learn that someone who grows up to become part of the Trump regime was raised on dishonestly, lies, and tales of supremacy. In fact, we’d say that it’s both noble and impressive that Preston seems to have clawed himself out of that and become such a well-adjusted adult. That cannot have been easy. Unfortunately, Natalie has not. And, as someone who is an active part of the Trump regime, it’s unlikely that she can ever be redeemed. She could, at least, make peace with loved ones like her brother if she resolves to change and grow as a person. We do not believe that she’s Trump’s mistress, as some have claimed. But her twisted infatuation with America’s worst enemy is an even worse idea to consider. Hopefully, she will get help soon. Unfortunately, the actress had quietly gotten back together with Brian Hickerson, the guy who pleaded no contest to punching her just a few years ago. (One of multiple known domestic violence incidents.) Now, a series of threatening texts that he apparently sent to Panettiere have been published. Be warned, the sheer malice of these words is difficult to read, to say nothing of the violent context. This particular mugshot of Brian Hickerson is from Valentine’s Day 2020 when he was arrested for punching Hayden Panettiere. (Photo Credit: Teton County Sheriff’s Office) It certainly reads like an attempt to blackmail her into dropping charges TMZ obtained documents stemming from Hickerson’s February 14, 2020 arrest for domestic battery. (There is no good day to punch one’s partner, but choosing Valentine’s Day for such an evil act seems extra despicable somehow.) Like Panettiere’s death, this happened at an Airbnb. A court order following the closed-fist blow prohibited Hickerson from contacting his victim. That did not stop him from sending her a series of threatening texts — texts that sound a lot like an attempt at blackmail. All of the stuff that is vaulted overseas with my people will come out the second I step foot into prison,” what appears to be a clear blackmail threat announces. “And all that does is hurt your name while simultaneously clearing my name,” Hickerson apparently claimed. “And at that point who actually cares?” Wow. “Say something Hayd, so I don’t get defensive and start firing off emails to people to get ready,” another threatened. The sentence that he received would be laughable if it were funny “I thought his legal stuff would magically disappear,” another alleged text menaced. “We gotta figure something out, buddy.” Hickerson’s texts continued in the report, reading: “It is very simple, it is a very simple fix, between me and you, you gotta make one phone call,” and “I don’t want to go to court, for you.” An additional message threatened Hayden Panettiere with: “I will be f–king fine in court, trust me, it’s for you.” Hickerson was sentenced to one year behind bars … and then the sentence was suspended, resulting in one year of probation. The ways in which our society and legal system do not protect victims of domestic violence are staggering. The most evil men alive walk free while innocent people who have harmed no one spend years in prison for possession of a forbidden plant in some states. We have no idea what video, if any, Brian Hickerson claimed to have of Hayden Panettiere. We also do not want to know. To be clear, the Valentine’s Day 2020 episode was not his only time facing charges for domestic violence against Panettiere. He ended up spending weeks in jail, years on probation. Hickerson was also ordered to take domestic violence prevention classes, a measure that many experts have pointed out is unlikely to work. Domestic abusers do not actually “lose control” or simply misunderstand how to process their emotions or whatever else they may claim during the faux apology phase. Violence is a tool that they employ to get their way, to make them feel powerful and in control. Pitt believes he can drink responsibly after struggling with alcoholism in his younger years. But according to at least one addiction expert, the Oscar winner is flirting with disaster. Pictures) Jessica Steinman, a Los Angeles addiction specialist and chief clinical officer for No Matter What Recovery, responded to Pitt’s recent revelation that he resumed drinking after seven years of sobriety. While Steinman emphasized that she was not diagnosing Pitt with alcohol use disorder, she cautioned that returning to alcohol after struggling with substance use can be risky. “There are people who struggle with substances and take a very large break, have a long period of sobriety and recovery, and they may choose to integrate it back into their lives,” Steinman told Fox News this week. “As an addiction professional, as someone who’s been in this field for a very long time, I don’t see a whole lot of success with that.” Steinman acknowledged that some people are able to return to drinking after years of sobriety without falling back into problematic patterns. But she considers those people “anomalies and exceptions to the rule.” And she says there can be a dangerous level of confidence that comes with years of sobriety. “People think, ‘Oh, I’ve gone this long. I think I’m going to be able to manage it – I have the skills now. I have tools,’” she explained. Steinman compared addiction to chronic health conditions that require ongoing management. “I liken it to diabetes or heart disease – you have to manage this health issue,” she said. “And it’s the same thing for alcoholism and substance use issues.” According to Steinman, addiction can alter the brain’s reward system, leaving it highly responsive to the dopamine associated with drinking or drug use. “And that doesn’t go away – it lays dormant,” she said. The addiction specialist compared that dormant response to a bear in hibernation. “If you wake that bear … life can quickly become unmanageable,” Steinman warned. “So they want to be very mindful of that happening.” Steinman also pointed to some potential warning signs for anyone who has returned to drinking after a period of sobriety. Those signs can include consuming increasingly larger amounts, erratic behavior, drinking alone, secretly drinking, or beginning to drink during the day. She also noted that “moderation” can mean very different things depending on the person. “Is it one drink a day? Is it a drink at dinner only? I’ve had people try out moderation by not having liquor at all and just sticking to beer and wine,” Steinman said. “So it’s all these different trials that they’re doing when someone starts seeing an escalation.” Steinman generally advises against what she described as “testing the waters” with alcohol after a problematic relationship with it. And her message is clear: A lengthy period of sobriety doesn’t necessarily mean the underlying problem has disappeared. Anyone noticing problematic behaviors involving alcohol or drugs, she advised, should speak with an addiction counselor. Pitt, meanwhile, says he is confident he knows his limits. As we previously reported, the Heroes and Nashville actress was found unresponsive at a South Carolina residence on Sunday, August 16. She was just 36 years old. And according to a police report obtained by Page Six, Panettiere’s on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, told officers that she had been taking numerous medications in her final days. The specific medications were redacted from the report. Hickerson and his brother, Zach, were reportedly at the Judson Mill Lofts when emergency responders arrived. Panettiere was found in cardiac arrest, and first responders attempted to revive her before she was pronounced dead at approximately 2:30 p.m. The police report also detailed the brothers’ reactions to the emergency. While Zach reportedly became emotional as first responders worked to save Panettiere, Brian did not appear visibly emotional until after she was pronounced dead. Authorities have not determined Panettiere’s official cause of death. An autopsy was completed, but toxicology results are still pending. A 911 call reportedly referenced a possible overdose, and Narcan was found at the scene. However, officials have not confirmed that an overdose caused Panettiere’s death. There were also no visible signs of trauma, and authorities have said there is no indication of foul play at this time. RadarOnline is reporting that Taylor is no longer actively a godmother to Blake and Ryan’s children. “It was one of the toughest decisions Taylor has ever had to make,” an alleged insider reported. “She loves the girls and it hurt her,” the source described, “but she had no choice given the circumstances.” The insider alleged: “She wanted to make a clean and total break.” According to the source, Taylor made the decision to consciously uncouple from Jamez, Inez, and Betty “a few months ago.” This difficult choice only came after she and her new husband (but then fiance) Travis Kelce had discussed the topic. The insider alleged that Travis agreed with his now-wife that cutting ties “was the right thing to do,” even though there is (obviously) no beef with the kids. “Right now, Taylor doesn’t feel it’s healthy or realistic to maintain a close relationship with the children while having virtually no relationship with their parents,” the source explained. The insider added: “She hopes that once the girls are 18 and able to make their own decisions, they’ll be free to reconnect if they choose.” Everything fell apart in late 2024 Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are actually the parents of four children, not three. In addition to daughters James, Inez, and Betty, they also have a son, Olin. They welcomed Olin in 2023. They and Taylor Swift only went official with the “godmother” status in 2024, with the singer jokingly referring to Ryan as “my godkids’ sperm donor.” How tragic that, mere months later, things would fall apart so severely. It is widely believed that, because Blake’s extended legal battle with Justin Baldoni involved mention of Taylor, this led to friction between them. Justin’s legal arguments apparently claimed that Blake had mentioned her friendship with Taylor as if it were an unspoken threat — a friend who would have her back if she faced off with some sort of workplace creep. The public understanding, however unconfirmed, goes on to say that Taylor felt used and felt that this was a betrayal of her friendship. It also meant that she was facing possibly having to testify in court — an inevitably sensational moment — if some awful dude’s attorney called her to the stand. If that happens, that’s a real shame. Not only because they were such good friends, but because Taylor knows better than most what it’s like to have your own words twisted and used against you in a massive smear campaign. 2016, anyone?
