Reading Time: 2 minutes Back in December of 2024, Luigi Mangione was arrested in connection with the shooting death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Now, Mangione may be ready to put an end to at least one chapter of his ongoing legal saga. According to a new report from NBC News, Mangione is expected to plead guilty to federal charges related to Thompson’s death during a court appearance on Friday in Manhattan. Mangione is accused of fatally shooting Thompson outside a Manhattan hotel on December 4, 2024. The killing sparked a massive manhunt and generated an extraordinary amount of public attention, including widespread support for Mangione online. He was arrested five days later in Pennsylvania. Mangione has previously pleaded not guilty to both the federal and state cases. His federal charges include two counts of stalking resulting in death. A guilty plea could have significant consequences beyond the federal case. New York’s double-jeopardy protections could potentially prevent state prosecutors from pursuing their murder case if Mangione is convicted federally first. However, Manhattan prosecutors have indicated that they intend to fight any effort that could interfere with their prosecution. For now, the precise terms of any potential plea agreement remain unclear. Mangione was originally facing additional federal charges, including a murder charge that could have made him eligible for the death penalty. Those charges were dismissed earlier this year because of legal issues, although the remaining federal charges still carry the possibility of a life sentence. And it’s safe to say the embattled star really didn’t hold back. At one point, Pitt revealed that he has a hard time watching adult film — and his reason has absolutely nothing to do with the subject matter. Instead, the Oscar winner simply can’t get past what he considers bad acting. During the conversation, Pitt opened up about his love of movies and television while discussing his lengthy career in Hollywood. The 62-year-old actor admitted that poor performances can quickly take him out of whatever he’s watching. “Bad acting drives me crazy,” Pitt explained. And then came the rather unexpected confession. “It’s why I can’t watch p-rn,” Pitt said. Pitt also compared the subject to another type of performance that leaves him scratching his head: soccer players dramatically hitting the ground after relatively minor contact. The actor joked that he would like to give some of the sport’s biggest stars — including Brazilian megastar Neymar — acting lessons, suggesting that their theatrics could use some serious improvement. “I’m gonna start a class for flopping, because these guys are terrible. It’s some of the worst acting I’ve ever seen. I know drawing a foul is part of the gamesmanship, but man, they need a lot of help,” the actor explained, adding: “And I’m going to start with (Brazilian star) Neymar, because as balletic as he is on the pitch, man, he needs some help. “I’m going to show him how to sell it, do it with understatement, how not to do it too often so it reads as real. I got a whole curriculum.” For Pitt, apparently, realism matters. Whether he’s watching a major Hollywood production, a soccer match, or something considerably more NSFW, the actor simply can’t turn off his critical eye. And while his comments were clearly delivered with his trademark dry humor, they offer another glimpse into just how seriously Pitt takes the craft of acting. Reading Time: 3 minutes After fleeing to another state with another set of legal considerations, surrogate McKenna West has given birth. Hers is an odd story that seems pretty miserable for everyone involved. Flouting her contract and fleeing to another state, West hoped that she’d be recognized as the birth mother. The parents are suing her as they prepare to give their newborn son a series of major surgeries. And yes, they’re facing off in court in a fairly unique clash of inter-state law. West was a surrogate — specifically, a gestational carrier — from Alaska. (Gestational carriers are implanted with an embryo from another couple, but are colloquially referred to as “surrogates” by most folks.) She had agreed to go through a pregnancy for a couple who live in California. Part of the surrogacy agreement contained a clause allowing the couple — the parents-to-be — to terminate the pregnancy if prenatal testing uncovered any anomalies, just as they would have had one of them been pregnant. This is all pretty standard fare for a surrogacy arrangement and contract. But, as you can imagine, this is where it all went awry. At the 20 week scan, doctors discovered that the fetus had hypoplastic left heart syndrome. HLHS is a rare birth defect. The left side of the heart is severely underdeveloped and incapable of aiding in a healthy circulatory system. Treatments are drastic and involve three major heart surgeries. The Norwood procedure takes place within days of birth. The Glenn procedure is performed upon the infant several months later. At around preschool age, patients must undergo the Fontan procedure. Heart surgeries upon a baby or small child are traumatic and carry major risks. Even those who undergo all three treatments face major risks, with 30% not even surviving childhood to become adults. What will the courts decide? This case involves three states, two parents, and a surrogate (and some political theater for Ken Paxton) When the parents-to-be learned of this diagnosis, they made the difficult decision to trigger the clause and terminate the pregnancy. But that is not what happened. Instead, West refused. She also fled to Texas, where she hopes that local laws would consider her to be the “birth mother” even though the child is not hers genetically. Her due date was on September 2, but she gave birth on Wednesday, August 12, in the Dallas area. West also took the audacious step of naming the child, selecting “Gabriel” for a child who is in a legal gray area. As you can imagine, the baby’s parents are feeling several emotions after this roller coaster. “Our clients’ only focus at this time is ensuring that their baby receives the medical care that he vitally needs and that they, as his parents, are able to spend every precious moment they can with him,” their attorney told The Dallas Morning News. The parents are (obviously) suing West. They are due in court later this month. In the meantime, West is at least not allowed to see or care for their child. Her attorney has expressed that she has considered taking the child if the court finds that she is allowed to. It sounds like this is a classic case of breach of contract, but with a lot of personal pain and a very real chance that the parents will end up losing their child — whatever they may name him — in the coming decade or so. We will hope for the best for a family that has already been through so much as they face both the medical and legal hurdles to come. Ocampo, in an intimate Miami ceremony. According to Page Six, the couple said “I do” on July 25 after dating for roughly a year. They had obtained their marriage license earlier this month, on July 7. Following the arrest of the Tate brothers, Barron may have to testify about his ties to these creeps — and about any knowledge that he may have of their alleged crimes. Reports say yes It is probably no great shock to anyone to hear that a member of the Trump family has close ties to a notorious criminal accused of sex trafficking, terrible violence, and more in multiple countries — on multiple continents. Actually, we probably need to be more specific. Andrew and Tristan Tate are brothers. They are infamous, even among the dirtbags of the manosphere, due to the numerous criminal allegations against them. Recently, they were arrested and will be extradited to the UK — where they are facing 59 charges, including rape. Andrew Tate has notoriously been taking to social media and whining about his experiences in custody. Representative Yassmin Ansari recently put forward the idea that Barron Trump testify before the House Oversight Committee. “The committee must learn from Barron Trump about his knowledge of the Tate brothers’ crimes,” her letter read. The request added: “If he had any involvement whatsoever, and if he communicated with members of his father’s administration or the president himself regarding their legal proceedings.” Rep. Ansari’s letter added: “Most egregiously, investigative reports have detailed direct, extensive communications between Andrew Tate and Barron Trump.” While one might hope that Barron had no criminal involvement with the Tate brothers, it makes sense to have testimony from known associates. Especially, you know, scions from powerful crime families that are already notorious for sex trafficking and numerous other crimes. It sounds like Andrew Tate is counting on his political ties to free him When Donald Trump regained power in January 2025, Andrew Tate took it as a clear sign that his legal situation would improve. “The Tates will be free,” he declared at the time. It appeared that he expected that Trump would either protect him from his criminal charges in the UK and Romania, or work to make the charges go away. Tate had, after all, spent years cozying up to fringe right politicians and individuals, helping to drive lonely and gullible boys into young adults who supported Trump. (Tate did end up allegedly raping Lauren Southern, a far-right influencer who knew that her peers and her audience would never support her when she spoke out.) Barron Trump will always be closely linked to one of the most evil men of our time, and one of the most destructive men in human history. In that, he has no choice. No one gets to choose their father. Any association with dirtbags like Andrew Tate, however, is voluntary. Even if Tate weaseled his way into Barron’s circle, Some would suggest that Barron Trump should avoid drawing attention to his (past?) ties to Andrew Tate by simply saying nothing. Now, the 17-year-old son of former Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans has been released from the mental health facility where he spent the past month, following an approximately three-month stay at a camp for troubled teens. Jace confirmed the news himself on Wednesday, when he returned to Instagram for the first time since being sent away following the incident at the North Carolina home of his grandmother, Barbara Evans. However, it appears likely that he has returned to Barbara’s home, as she has been fighting to have Jace live with her. His father, Andrew Lewis, is another possibility. One thing is certain: Jace is not living with Jenelle. Although Jenelle reportedly still has legal custody of her son, Jace cannot live with her while her reconciliation with David Eason continues. David is legally prohibited from having contact with Jace, meaning he would have to move out of Jenelle’s home for Jace to live with his mother. As of the latest report, David remains in the home. And here’s where things get particularly strange. According to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, Jace has actually been out of the facility for several weeks. According to the source, Jenelle was nowhere to be seen and did not board the plane with them. “She was definitely not present at the airport with them,” the tipster claimed. The timing is notable, as Jace and Dawson were reportedly seen at the airport one day before Jace’s 17th birthday. AOC and her fiance Riley Roberts recently split as hopes ramp up that she will launch a 2028 Presidential campaign. As what could only be a joke, the behaviorally troubled “looksmaxxer” suggested that he could “fix” one of America’s most prominent politicians. He even went so far as to say that he would marry her. If you are unfamiliar, lines like “I could fix him” (or her, or them, as the case may be) are something of a meme on social media. Often, it is a reference to a troubled fictional character. Other times, it may be at an attractive mugshot. The joke is not always made in good taste. Regardless, the implication is that one could “fix” a person by dating them. (At his best, Peters referred to JD Vance as “subhuman.” But he is also being sued by his ex-girlfriend for sexual abuse and battery.) In addition to the issues with basically everything about Peters and how he rose to fame, AOC doesn’t need fixing? Sure, no politician is going to get 100% agreement from anyone. (AOC’s recent commentary on “Woke 1” vs “Woke 2” was a mistake, for example, turning a once-funny social media joke about ramping up social justice work into a tone-deaf talking point.) On his livestream, Peters went on to suggest that he would even marry Ocasio-Cortez. He also insulted her ex. That last bit seems a little harsh, given that the guy just fumbled AOC. He’s probably suffering enough. We’re in no danger of Clavicular dating AOC What is important to remember about Clavicular is that he is not good or redeemable — but that he is also a symptom of a lot of external wrongs in the world. (He is also the child of two bodybuilders, which could definitely help explain his unhinged fixation upon controlling his looks to a self-destructive degree.) Peters talks about looking good and making money so that one can date a supermodel. That is shallow and nihilistic. But it is also, you know, born of the harsh realities of our ruined world. The just get a job and you’ll make enough to live narrative of past decades, of past generations, has been killed — primarily by the fallout of the Reagan era. Peters is only 20. He was a preschooler for the 2008 financial crisis. Unlike Millennials (he is Gen Z), he does not even have childhood memories of what it was like to live in a land of opportunity. We don’t think that AOC is in any danger of dating him. Therefore, we also don’t think that we’re in any danger of having Clavicular as our country’s First Gentleman. Peters turns 21 later this year. He’ll probably live to see that. But between seven years of injecting testosterone and getting weird about peptides and his ever-growing rap sheet, it seems that he’s on a downward spiral that could cost him his life if he isn’t careful. Foster has been particularly close to Harry, with the former royal reportedly describing their relationship as something of a “father and son” bond. Foster also helped Harry and Meghan find a place to stay in Canada after they stepped back from their royal duties. Meghan and Katherine have their own connection, having attended the same school as children. So, while the viral video may have sparked plenty of speculation, the moment appears to be nothing more than a few seconds of awkward footage that social media has turned into a much bigger story. The Oscar winner casually offered up that revelation in an interview with Esquire, but from the reaction on social media, you’d think he announced it at a press conference. Lots of people are not thrilled with the fact that Brad is drinking again, which makes sense, given his alleged history of being a very problematic drunk (more on that later). Pictures) Perhaps in response to the criticism, a source close to Brad issued a statement: “This is a very personal decision that’s unique to Brad and his own circumstances,” the insider told Page Six, adding that he’s had “a lot of time to reflect” on his drinking. “Over time, his life changed and he reached a point where he felt comfortable making a different choice,” the source explained, adding: “For him, that means moderation and being very conscious of his limits. McGregor tweeted that he would be downing some pints in support of his “fellow actor,” before urging Pitt to “take it easy.” He later shared a video of a pint being poured in which he quipped, “This one’s for you, Mucker!” Like Pitt, McGregor has been accused of violent and abusive behavior, though in both cases, the allegations remain unproven. Angelina Jolie has long alleged that Pitt became physically abusive while he was drunk aboard a private jet flight in 2016. Again, given those circumstances, the fact that Pitt has decided to resume drinking is striking a sour note with many social media users. But addiction and recovery are different for everyone. But Trump is not only refusing to acknowledge his role in the Greenwater scandal. He’s also pressing the DOJ to bring new charges against the same innocent man. Apparently, the topic was whether former Olympic athlete David Hearn could face another prosecution. One consideration was whether the case could be pursued as a misdemeanor. Notably, this would mean that prosecutors would not need to obtain an indictment from a grand jury in order go after Hearn. As of the initial report, this was merely an exploration of the options that the federal government may have in punishing random people who were near the Reflecting Pool for the incompetence of Trump and the crony he hired. Last week, the US Attorney’s office moved to drop the charges against Hearn because they were, well, nonsense. Specifically, it was reported that the Department of the Interior had concealed evidence that the Reflecting Pool issues stemmed from a botched installation rather than from some sort of mythical act of vandalism. Many people in Donald Trump’s orbit were appointed because they will say whatever he wants to hear and do whatever he wants them to do. That’s the nature of a mad king, after all. However, prosecutors are held to special standards of behavior, and can face real consequences — including sanctions — if they prosecute someone while knowing that the person is innocent. Trump clearly views all aspects of his regime as tools with which to punish his enemies. Even after Pirro showed him the evidence that the installation was botched, he couldn’t accept the truth — or let go of his “vandals” conspiracy theory. It looks like Jeanine Pirro is choosing loyalty over professional ethics On Wednesday, Pirro convened a special grand jury in DC, The Washington Post reports. This appears to be a direct consequence of Trump’s continued irrational (or perhaps deliberate — more on that in a moment) fixation on blaming anyone but himself and his cronies for the sorry state of a national monument. Pirro assembled the legal body, which could permit federal prosecutors to delve into major and controversial cases. Steven Vandervelden is an ally of Pirro’s, and he will be heading the special grand jury. Special grand juries — sometimes nicknamed blue ribbon panels or blue ribbon juries — can be controversial. They are supposed to be made up of people who have special qualifications to serve as jurors. (Almost the opposite of how a regular jury is selected.) What is this really about? Well, Donald Trump is dozing off on live television and, judging by the dark marks on his hands and arms, is either regularly receiving secret medical intervention or is afflicted by some necrotic curse. Maybe both? With that in mind, it is possible that America’s mad king really is delusional enough to believe that an act of vandalism by random passersby sabotaged his big beautiful Reflecting Pool, rather than it being a natural consequence of his own incompetence and corruption. However, some warn that this may be a calculated blow to show that the Trump regime will target and prosecute anyone it pleases, upending their lives for months or even years even if they are sure to be freed, exonerated, and perhaps even take home hefty financial settlements over time. It’s a toll to clearly say, ‘My treatments are done, the course has run and I am on my way,'” she reads as she rings a bell. Her lengthy caption kept a similarly upbeat tone, even while conveying very somber news. “Hi friends :),” she began. “I wanted to share something with you all that I’ve kept to myself for a while but for various reasons would like to share now.” Davis revealed: “A year and a half ago I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer, which has metastasized to my bones. He is now recovering under medical supervision, though reports say that he has limited awareness of what transpired. Though thankfully his kids were not there to witness the worst of it, many now wonder what’s in store for his three children. Now, his mother has filed to officially have custody of them. This will mean being able to manage everything from them going to school to dentist appointments. She is also asking the court to keep these records sealed. “The children in this case should not be subjected to any further trauma related to the incidents that are the basis of the petition,” she writes in her custody petition. Any child could be traumatized by a parent falling ill, let alone a bloody incident involving emergency responders and a prolonged hospitalization. Perez’s fame makes it so much worse. It is likely that the children’s peers and their parents are fully aware of what has transpired. Last week, Perez went on TikTok Live and proceeded to harm himself with a bladed instrument for a period of 15-20 minutes before moderators stepped in. His body, the blade, and his face were coated in blood to a level normally only seen in horror films and war zones. (His TikTok has since been permanently deleted.) He remains hospitalized. Florida’s Baker Act allows for involuntary hospitalization in cases of extreme mental health issues. It sounds like recovery will be a lengthy process Updates from his family clarified that Perez’s three children were not present for the livestream. His sister had apparently fled the home, taking her niece and his children. Perez had already shown some sort of sign of his mental health crisis. At present, he is reportedly in stable condition. However, he is said to be in pain. Additionally, he will require surgery to remedy some of the injuries that he sustained. At this time, we do not really know what triggered Perez Hilton’s mental health crisis. He recently embarked on a move. There were apparently financial troubles. He also recently delved into Catholicism, the religion in which he was raised. Mental breaks can be caused by stress, by illness, by poisoning, and by unseen genetic factors. It sometimes takes a perfect storm for someone to have a total breakdown. Whatever the cause, we hope that he makes a full recovery. Carmine Agnello, reality TV personality and grandson of deceased mob boss John Gotti, was her kidney donor. The courts were lenient at first, allowing him to postpone his incarceration for his mother’s sake. But the transplant never happened. The transplant was never even scheduled. (Photo Credit: David Pomponio/FilmMagic) ‘The request for another deferral of Mr. Agnello’s self-surrender is unjustified’ The Associated Press reports that on Monday, August 10, Carmine Agnello finally began serving his 15-month prison term. The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed this news the following day. Agnello is currently incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution Fairton (FCI Fairton) in New Jersey. Originally, he would have begun serving his sentence in July. The courts had previously allowed him to hold off — until they ran out of patience, trust, or both. US District Court Judge Nusrat Choudhury had previously agreed to delay Agnello’s incarceration until September 18 — over a month from now. That would, in theory, have given him enough time to undergo the transplant and then to recover from teh surgery. Only if the surgery had taken place by August 10. Victoria suffers from chronic kidney disease. The idea of her son offering her one of his kidneys was heartwarming to many. On Monday, the judge issued an update: “Because there is no concrete evidence that an organ transplant will be scheduled to take place at any time between today and Sept. 18, 2026, the request for another deferral of Mr. Agnello’s self-surrender is unjustified.” ‘Clearly, the transplant surgery is not imminent’ “It is undisputed that Carmine is a great match for Ms. Gotti,” Agnello’s attorney argued on Monday. “He is simply asking the Court to allow him to remain available to his mother during this very limited period,” he insisted. Agnello wanted to remain free “while her doctors determine whether and when she can proceed with transplant.” Prosecutors noted that the doctor’s notes indicated that they were still treating Gotti’s infections. No transplant could take place until that health issue was resolved. “Clearly, the transplant surgery is not imminent,” argued the US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, Joseph Nocella. Clearly, the court agreed. Victoria Gotti and Carmine Agnello both became reality TV personalities as they appeared on Growing Up Gotti. The reality series, truly a product of its time, capitalized upon Ms. Gotti’s status at the daughter of an infamous crime boss. Agnello pleaded guilty in 2024 to wire fraud in connection with a scheme in which he obtained $1.1 million in COVID-related small business loans. In addition to his 15-month sentence, he must repay the money that he fraudulently obtained, perform 100 hours of community service, and be under supervised release for a period of two years. Perhaps the court will allow him to donate his kidney during his incarceration. But it appears that the window during which he could recover from such a surgery at home has now closed. Earlier this week, the embattled couple withdrew their not guilty pleas on charges of child endangerment and false imprisonment. Now, it’s looking like they’re going to be able to weasel out of the charges altogether — if they follow court orders. They also need to avoid any further trouble with the law. The Ashley obtained court documents showing that the Arkansas judge signed a Diversion Order for Joseph and Kendra. This means that the case will be postponed for one year, which will be considered an Advisement Period. During this time, the disgraced former reality stars will essentially be on a sort of pre-probation. They will have to comply with all of the terms of the court order. Pending their full cooperation, the judge has agreed to drop the charges against them after one year. Joseph Duggar has been arrested for the alleged molestation of a 9-year-old girl. In addition to complying with the court’s instructions, Joe and Kendra must each pay $1,850 in fees before the Advisement Period ends. They also must avoid further trouble. Well, more than Joseph is already in. In the mean time, Kendra is allowed to see her children. It sounds like Joseph is still restricted to supervised contact only, which makes a lot of sense, given the charges that he’s facing in Florida. It’s not that any reasonable person believed that Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell were good parents. They are members of an abusive cult, after all. It takes a lot of education and deprogramming to be a good parent after a life like that. What we know is that both parents were charged with four counts (each) of child endangerment and of false imprisonment in the second degree. There was a report immediately after Kendra’s arrest, claiming that investigators — who automatically searched the home after Joseph’s arrest — discovered that the children’s bedroom doors locked from the outside, like prison cells. That’s alarming all by itself. But given that the source was close to the Duggars, it’s unclear if that is the whole truth. None of this touches upon Joseph Duggar’s charges in Florida. He allegedly molested a 9-year-old girl in Florida back in 2020 during a bizarre vacation in the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Though Joseph reportedly confessed twice, including to police, he entered a plea of not guilty and seems prepared to drag that poor girl into a full trial. It would be nice if Kendra learns from this, follows Arkansas department of Human Services advice, and perhaps becomes a good parent despite her membership in a toxic cult. However, given the way that she’s clinging to her husband and the Duggars and seemingly cutting off contact with her family following Joe’s arrest, we won’t hold our breath. Yes, Kendrick is a married dad, so when he called Drake a freak, it was not intended as a compliment. At 40, the Canadian Degrassi alum probably isn’t burning through groupies the way he used to, but he recently hosted a “20-vs-1 dating” event that’s probably not gonna convince anyone that he’s ready to settle down. At one point during the livestream, Drake was presented with a “hall pass” from adult film star Lena the Plug. Despite recent rumors that Lena had filed for divorce from husband Adam22, the podcasting duo is still very much married. Now, Lena and Adam are not monogamous (after all, they both work in the adult industry), but they say that their relationship still has rules. Of course, most of the women were probably there less for the cash and prizes (or even the chance to date Drake — sorry, Drizzy!) than for the clout. Pinkchyu has already become something of a social media celebrity in the days since she literally made Drake bark for her. The Canadian “goth baddie” (Drake is nothing if not loyal to his home country) has now amassed over 2.6 million followers on Instagram, with tens of thousands of those coming in the past few days. Not bad for a niche model representing a subculture that peaked 40 years ago (sorry, goths!). But that’s what’s great about an event like this. In a way, everybody wins, and there really are no losers. Well, except maybe for Adam22, who issued a hall pass only to watch Drake pass on his wife. According to author Michael Wolff, Trump’s 2015 decision to run for the White House was largely about one thing: staying famous. And Wolff says that assessment came from a rather infamous source. (Photo by Eric Lee/Getty Images) In a new Substack column, the Trump biographer detailed conversations he had with Jeffrey Epstein about Trump, including the disgraced financier’s reaction when his former friend announced his presidential campaign. At the time, Trump was still the star of The Apprentice. But according to Wolff, Epstein believed Trump was worried that his television career was beginning to fade. “Epstein knew that Trump’s star turn on The Apprentice was fading and that he urgently needed a new platform for the promotion of Donald Trump,” Wolff wrote. In other words, according to Wolff’s account, Trump wasn’t necessarily dreaming of becoming president. Instead, he was looking for his next big platform. Wolff claims Epstein believed Trump had always been primarily motivated by fame, money, and sex. And not in that order. “Donald has never spent a moment in which being seen was not his main goal,” Wolff recalled Epstein telling him. “Money, sex, fame, it’s in that order.” Wolff also claimed Epstein believed Trump’s fascination with former Presidents Bill Clinton and John F. Kennedy was connected to their reputations as powerful men who were almost as famous for their personal lives. And while Epstein may have viewed Trump’s presidential campaign as another attempt to remain relevant, he apparently wasn’t amused by the prospect of Trump actually winning. “You don’t understand, it’s Donald Trump. No shame. Do you understand how powerful that is?” Epstein allegedly told Wolff. That concern apparently became even more significant after Trump won the 2016 election. Wolff has previously described Epstein as being both fascinated and frightened by Trump. He also claims Epstein believed Trump had tipped off Palm Beach police about his activities, a claim that Trump has not acknowledged. Trump and Epstein had been friends for years before their relationship deteriorated. The Trump administration isn’t buying Wolff’s version of events. White House spokesperson Lauren Bis called the author’s claims “lazy and false.” She argued that Trump already had a successful television career when he entered politics and said he launched his campaign because he believed the country needed a change. “President Trump declared his candidacy because he loves America,” Bis said (via Radar Online). Trump has also maintained that he was never particularly close to Epstein and has said he cut ties with the convicted sex offender after Epstein’s 2008 conviction. Still, Epstein’s relationship with Trump continues to generate controversy more than six years after his death. Unfortunately, most of the coverage has little to do with the players’ accomplishments on the court and much to do with various controversies pertaining to politics and social issues. The latest drama began during a game — when Chicago Sky forward Dijonai Carrington was ejected after committing a flagrant foul against Sophie Cunningham of the Indiana Fever. After she was ejected for giving Cunningham a forearm to the face, Carrington took to X (formerly Twitter) with a post that read simply, “WHITE PRIVILEGE.” She also tagged Cunningham’s team. The post didn’t sit well with many commentators and sports journalists, as Carrington’s ejection seemed appropriate, given the brutal nature of her foul. One journalist who chastised Carrington was former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho. “The refs made the right call on DiJonai Carrington. There’s no white privilege involved in that specific call,” Acho said on his Speakeasy YouTube show on Monday. The remark led Carrington to allege that Acho had misinterpreted her comments. “I’ve never once claimed that the assessment of the foul was white privilege,” Carrington wrote on X, reposting a clip of former NFL star Emmanuel Acho discussing her response. “Try exercising your critical thinking skills, I know you studied psych. Furthermore, I’m the LAST thing from ignorant or asinine when it comes to speaking on ‘white privilege’, do ya research on that one.” Carrington, who graduated from Stanford, added, “I actually went to school, one of the top universities, might I add, to educate myself on this exact subject. I’ll stand corrected,” Acho wrote on X, adding: “However, America is a speaker oriented country, so the burden is on you for being clear, direct and easy to understand.” For her part, Cunningham downplayed any racial bias, saying “there’s no reason to even play that card.” She went on to dismiss Carrington’s hard foul as “her just trying to get attention.” The grudge might resurface the next time Cunningham and Carrington face off on the court. Beckinsale wrote that these comments are “telling me how disgusting I look and I’m anorexic or I’m on meth or that I’ve lost so much weight.” She even shared screenshots, sharing insight into how much she has fixated upon these comments. The examples that Beckinsale cited accused her of using GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic and expressed overall concerns about her gaunt appearance. “First off, I’ve lost my entire family, except my precious daughter, in a short amount of time,” Beckinsale wrote. Both her mother and her stepfather passed away, back-to-back. “The second thing is, I have a condition, which is an autoimmune condition called mast cell activation syndrome, and there’s another one called mast cell disease, and there’s mastocytosis,” she detailed. “This is something that I was diagnosed with 16 years ago,” Beckinsale shared. At least, that’s what he claimed, oddly commenting that it was “for old time’s sake.” The truth, it turns out, was that Trump sneaked out of Air Force One and left Turkey on a military craft. He hid in a catering truck to make the switcheroo without the journalists and staffers still on the plane knowing. Trump’s departure raised eyebrows because the expensive jet — a brazen symbol of the Trump regime’s corruption, albeit one of many — which he skipped using. Despite his claims at the time that this was out of some sort of odd nostalgia, Trump quickly spilled that there were security concerns. He called himself “number one” on Iran’s hit list, seemingly as a boast. Now, the truth of how Trump departed from Turkey on July 8 has gotten much, much weirder. Numerous outlets are reporting that Trump boarded Air Force One for the cameras as part of what was essentially a hoax. He then slipped out of the plane and boarded a military aircraft. Sensationally, Trump was able to sneak out of Air Force One by way of a catering truck. Journalists and White House staff were both still aboard Air Force One. None of the journalists and few of the staffers were aware of the sleight of hand. It does sound like something out of Veep. Apparently this warning of an alleged plot came by way of Israel, which may cast doubt onto its veracity. We are, after all, talking about a nation whose bloodthirsty regime has a vested interest in the United States attacking its enemies. To be clear, there are alleged threats to Trump in the world. None of them seem to have panned out so far, but they exist. Maybe the Iran threat to fire a missile at his plane was legitimate, but nothing came of it. We are now nearly halfway into August. It was in February when Trump first attacked Iran in a wave of bombings with no particular justification. What has followed has been worldwide economic suffering, a gas crisis, a weakening of the US’ strategic petroleum reserve, a massive depletion of America’s missile capacity, and an erosion of what little trust remained with key allies. Multiple times, a deal has seemed within reach. But America’s Mad King seems to be prolonging the war with the intention, critics say, of preserving his ego. Unfortunately, this is a natural and inevitable consequence of electing unqualified despots who don’t really understand how anything works. Especially if they receive counsel from weird macho ideologues and notorious drunks. The good news is that the catering truck story is a little source of humor in the unending hell in which we are all trapped. Though he never detailed his reasons for getting clean, it’s been widely assumed that Pitt’s divorce from Angelina Jolie — and the allegation that he behaved abusively while drunk — played a major role. The divorce continues to make headlines a decade later, as the A-listers are still battling over shared assets, including the French vineyard and winery they co-own. News that Pitt is drinking again comes on the heels of a tumultuous few months in which all of Brad and Angelina’s children dropped his last name. “I was sober for seven years. And then I got back off the wagon,” he confessed in the interview. “In a more restrained manner. I got overconfident a couple times, went, ‘Yep, nope, not good for me.’ Not in big quantities.” Pitt explained he “can have a few” glasses of wine, but he “can’t have a lot.” “I have to be professional about it,” he said. Pitt first spoke publicly about his sobriety in a 2019 New York Times interview. “I had taken things as far as I could take it, so I removed my drinking privilege,” he said at the time. In 2020, Pitt publicly thanked Bradley Cooper for helping him quit drinking, and he spoke about his sobriety journey on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast just last summer.
