The new look was so dramatic that many online immediately began speculating about whether Trump had changed his grooming routine—or whether he was wearing a wig. Trump’s signature comb-over looked considerably more voluminous than it had during appearances earlier in the week. On Instagram, he revealed that Boltinhouse has been stripped of her crown. No longer Miss North Carolina, she is accused of violating the organization’s standards. Titles like Miss North Carolina USA, the organization reasons, are not “trinkets.” Rather, they are investments of trust. Trust which, Brodeur explains, Boltinhouse has broken. What did Boltinhouse do? Brodeur’s statement did not explain the specific violations that cost Boltinhouse her crown. However, the statement stated, very broadly, that the organization “does not tolerate racism, homophobia, transphobia, nor language that strips any person of their dignity.” That is a very good policy — but does not specify which aspect of that she broke. With exceptions of figures like Garrett Yrigoyen on The Bachelorette, very few scandals like these involve some sort of Macavity-from-Cats figure who has violated every rule in the book. From 2017 until 2019, she allegedly repeatedly used the n-word. On the plus side, she did not appear to be directly attacking individuals with the use of the slur. Her use in the sentences appears to have been for emphasis. At the same time … the thing about slurs is that their use is almost always an automatic attack against the entire demographic to which they refer. Slurs are not merely rude words, they are loaded with troubling and violent histories. Though Boltinhouse has also been accused of having been a vocal supporter of Donald Trump during his 2024 campaign, that does not appear to have been a factor. Last week, in his attorneys’ advice, he invoked his Constitutional right to avoid self-incrimination. On Thursday, a Senate committee voted to hold him in contempt of Congress. The next step could be to send a criminal referral to the DOJ. Will it happen? Last week, members of the Senate grilled Dr. Fauci six years after the fact about the federal government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination 111 times. Despite him showing up to the Senate floor and allowing the GOP to put on this show trial, that still wasn’t good enough. In an 8-to-5 vote along party lines, Republicans voted to hold him in contempt for allegedly blowing off a congressional subpoena. The right wing narrative about Dr. Fauci seems to be a little inconsistent. Some claim that he manufactured this virus (humans do not have the technology to engineer a virus of this sophistication), killing millions and disabling millions more. On the flip side, other rightists have claimed that this deadly pandemic was actually nothing, and hate Dr. Fauci because they believe that the government response was too restrictive. Both groups have been known to parrot unhinged narratives about vaccines. Though Trump was in office in 2020 and supervised the launch of America’s pandemic response, Republican Senators are loathe to criticize him. Therefore, they take aim at Dr. Fauci. Will he be prosecuted by the DOJ? Rand Paul is many things. Very few of them are good. He is also the Committee Chairman. He says that the Fifth Amendment does not protect Dr. Fauci because President Joe Biden offered him a preemptive pardon before leaving office. Biden issues multiple pardons for targets, like Dr. Fauci and Hunter Biden, who seemed likely to be subjected to malicious and unjust prosecutions by the Trump regime. Dr. Fauci’s legal team advised him to invoke the Fifth because answering questions in any way might expose him to legal jeopardy. Among other things, federal pardons are not state pardons. Now, the potential criminal referral to the DOJ may sound daunting — but it might not be that big of a deal. An actual referral would require 60 votes in the full Senate. Even if, let’s be real, the alleged ghost of Mitch McConnell were to join in this vote, that seems pretty unlikely. Rand Paul, whom some people take seriously for whatever reason, wants Dr. Fauci prosecuted and imprisoned. In that sense, this is a big deal. Vindictive maniacs who are utterly detached from reality should probably not hold as much political power in our federal government as they do now. The announcement comes just two days after Sydne’s brother, Austin Towle, shared in a TikTok video that she had been moved to hospice care and was “surrounded by her friends and family.” According to TMZ, Sydney had been battling cholangiocarcinoma, a rare bile duct cancer. More often than not, this seemed to be a distraction from actual scandals facing William and Kate. Harry saw how the firm protected his brother and sister-in-law, but not his wife. He didn’t want to lose Meghan like he lost his beloved mother. A California Court of Appeal has denied the former Vanderpump Rules star’s attempt to have Rachel “Raquel” Leviss’ lawsuit against her dismissed, meaning the case will continue toward trial. The ruling marks a significant victory for Leviss, who first filed suit in 2024 over allegations stemming from the explosive cheating scandal that dominated headlines the previous year. Hilton is a single father, and while he has family in the area — having recently moved from Las Vegas to Miami to be closer to his mother — there’s no word on whether any of them are in a position to take in his children. The infamous blogger has been open about the fact that his elderly mother is very ill. Hilton will likely be hospitalized for quite some time following this week’s incident, and the situation has sparked renewed interest in the lives and welfare of his three kids, all of whom were welcomed via surrogate. “All kids are mine genetically,” he wrote in a Huffington Post essay in 2017, adding: “Each was born thanks to the generosity of a different surrogate, using eggs from the same anonymous donor. “While I don’t rule out adoption in the future, for me it was important to have kids with my DNA. The announcement about her upcoming break, which came over the weekend, said that she would be avoiding the spotlight for a bit after her Eternal Sunshine Tour concludes. On Monday, August 3, Ariana performed in Chicago. Standing on the stage, she told the crowd that she “wanted to speak to my fans directly.” Her goal? Human beings can need a break sometimes.” She continued: “And also, this can be, and will continue to be, the greatest experience of my professional and creative life.” Ariana addressed the concern of some fans that what some consider to be “negativity” is “ruining” the release of petal, her album. “I just have to say that could not be more the f–k opposite,” she decreed. Ariana added a non-specific: “I love you, and this is what I will always take with me and carry with me because the rest of that s–t is not mine to carry, so I don’t carry it.” Ariana then went on to praise the crowd and to affirm how much she has enjoyed her Eternal Sunshine Tour. It really sounds like she may be trying to debunk claims that she’s getting help. That said, it is possible that Ariana has simply lumped all of the conversation that does not come from stans as “haters.” If so, perhaps she is quashing claims that she’s running and hiding from her detractors. No one is seriously saying that she’s hiding from criticism. And the people begging Ariana to get help are not haters. Most of them (most of us, really) are longtime, diehard Ariana fans. Yes, the disgraced music mogul’s projected federal prison release date has been changed yet again, according to updated records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons (via Page Six). Just days after it appeared Diddy could be released on January 24, 2028, the agency’s inmate database now lists his expected release date as February 20, 2028. The new date marks the latest twist in what has become a confusing series of revisions to Combs’ sentence timeline. His projected release was originally expected sometime in the summer of 2028 before shifting several times over the past year. It later moved to April 2028, then February, then January, and now back to February once again. The most recent update comes only weeks after reports surfaced that Diddy got into a fight with another inmate at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. According to Page Six, the confrontation began after another inmate insulted Combs, prompting him to respond physically. Prison staff reportedly broke up the fight, and Combs was placed in solitary confinement. An unnamed source claimed Diddy “held his own” in the altercation, though prison officials have not publicly confirmed those details. Combs is serving a four-year federal prison sentence after being convicted in 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges that could have resulted in a life sentence. When handing down the sentence in October 2025, Judge Arun Subramanian acknowledged Combs’ accomplishments as an artist and entrepreneur but said they could not outweigh the harm caused by his criminal conduct. “You abused them, physically, emotionally, and psychologically,” the judge said while addressing victims connected to the case. In addition to his prison sentence, Combs was ordered to pay a $500,000 fine and complete mental health and substance abuse treatment programs while incarcerated. On Sunday, August 2, a man named Jeanine John Taele was arrested outside of Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes. Trump himself was not present. But there was a security meeting at the time ahead of his GOP fundraiser. Taele was allegedly taking photos while walking the grounds of the golf course. He had apparently been beforehand, which prompted staff at the facility to notify law enforcement of his return. Plainclothes federal agents reportedly spotted him while he was allegedly monitoring “security-planning activities.” Officers for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department found a loaded magazine on Taele’s person. In his car, they found a loaded pistol and still more ammunition. The real find came on Monday, August 3, when investigators executed a search at his home. There, Taele allegedly had an illegally modified AR platform rifle, a .45 caliber pistol, body armor, high-capacity magazines, and, yes, even more ammo. It is not currently clear what Taele may have intended for this arsenal. It seems likely that additional charges will follow. Among other things, Taele was already a person of interest in a robbery. The El Segundo Police Department — an affluent community about 15 miles north — was already on the lookout for him. There are times when it pays to be someone who everyone wants some time with. Multiple police departments as well as federal authorities wanting you at the same time is not ideal. Without knowing anything about Taele but this, one can easily imagine a wide range of possibilities. The first is that a man already wanted in connection to a robbery had decided to go out in a blaze of glory. One can conjure up all sorts of motives, such as a desire for fame or perhaps a personal vendetta against the man whose persistent economic sabotage may have created the motive for the robbery in the first place. On the other end, perhaps a man — whose arsenal may or may not have had anything to do with an alleged robbery 15 miles away — enjoyed a walk and snapped photos on a golf course, not even knowing that it is owned by one of the planet’s most infamous figures. We don’t know what happened. It’s possible that we never will. It’s probably best that authorities decided that it’s better safe than sorry. Just hours earlier, he had publicly and furiously rebuked her over the dropped charges against Olympic canoeist David Hearn. Hearn was falsely — absurdly, even — accused of “sabotaging” the Reflecting Pool. In reality, Trump’s cartoonish-looking ally’s company, Greenwater, appears to have botched a job that didn’t need to be done in the first place. That’s essentially what prosecutors are saying now, too. Trump disagrees. And when Pirro left the White House while toting a large box and other bags, some wondered if she had been fired. Naturally, jokes went flying as soon as the photo began to circulate on social media. But many could not help but wonder if Pirro had actually been fired. Trump has known her for decades. Pirro has been a political ally, and widely and correctly mocked for it, for years. And yet he sat in the Oval Office and mimed playing an accordion while complaining about an “unfair” judge and accusing Pirro of having “choked” under pressure. Trump values subservience and loyalty above all else. He does not, however, reciprocate it. Did Trump fire her? Trump declaring that Pirro had folded “like an umbrella” by dismissing the felony case against Hearn does not sound good for her career. (In contrast, it appears that the Department of the Interior is happy to dance to Trump’s tune, as the motion to dismiss informed the court that evidence was withheld by the Interior until after they had secured an indictment.) However, as of Wednesday morning, there is no indication that Pirro has been fired. Trump sees the Department of Justice and every other division of the federal government as weapons that he can use to ease regulations on his allies and to punish his enemies. Pirro has been a devoted minion of his for years. Perhaps he will overlook this matter rather than find another person who had “judge” in their name when appearing on TV. However, unlike other aspects of the Trump regime, attorneys must abide by certain rules in court. Failing to do so could result in disciplinary action, and some believe that Pirro and others in her office dropped the case in order to avoid professional blowback that has nothing to do with Trump. Like many others, they are remembering that Trump is not forever, and could not protect them from all consequences even if he wanted to. Prosecuting a case that they know to be false is a bridge too far, even for most (but not all) attorneys who are otherwise happy to push forward Trump’s twisted agenda. Anyway, we can celebrate one piece of good news. The Greenwater scandal is in and of itself absurd, but Trump’s weaponization of prosecutors to go after people whom he would like to imagine somehow sabotaged the Reflecting Pool (that he drove over in his presidential motorcade) was, like so much else, alarming and un-American. The footage showed Hilton — whose real name is Mario Lavandeira — covered in blood and brandishing a knife. As livestream viewers encouraged him to put down the weapon and check into a hospital, Hilton threatened suicide and made other deeply troubling comments. Authorities confirmed they responded after receiving multiple reports from people who had watched a distressing livestream. Deputies used crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies before Hilton was transported to a hospital for medical care. “In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritize de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication,” said a spokesperson for the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office. “Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and utilizing crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimize the risk of injury to the individual, deputies, and the public.” Hilton’s representatives have asked for privacy while he focuses on his recovery. They added that Perez’s top priority at the moment is his health and the well-being of his family. Officials have not released additional details about his medical condition. Perez, of course, became a household name on the strength of his controversial celebrity gossip blog in the early 2000s. His scathing takes and boundary-pushing humor made him a divisive figure in the early days of social media and helped him to develop a multi-million dollar brand. Earlier this year, Hilton suffered an attack of sepsis that he described as life-threatening. He explained in a series of videos that he found religion during his 21-day hospital stay. The Vanderpump Rules alum levels some shocking accusations in the documents, including claims about an alleged groin-kicking attack that took place in October while he was on tour with his band, Tom Sandoval and the MOST Extras, in Florida. Sandoval claims that Victoria “kicked me repeatedly in the groin area while hurling expletives and insults toward me in the presence of my band mates, tour crew and fans.” He alleges that Victoria had “consumed drugs and alcohol to the point that venue security personnel had to physically carry her from the concert venue back to the tour bus” earlier in the night. Just three months after his public breakup with Elsie Hewitt (which came just months after they welcomed their child), he was spotted out and about with a new gal. Sarah Jane Nader is a reality TV personality of Love Thy Nader fame. On Monday, August 3, he was spotted walking towards his car with Nader, opening the passenger door to let the 23-year-old inside. You can see them in a video that Deuxmoi obtained, below. Technically, we cannot confirm or deny whether Davidson and Nader are an item. We all know that many people give rides to others. Sometimes, you just need to be dropped off by a friend-of-a-friend without waiting on a rideshare. But Davidson and Nader (but especially Davidson) are public figures, who know that being seen out together is going to get reported. They also know what many will assume. With that in mind, this almost feels like a soft launch of a relationship. Which is not to say that it’s going anywhere or seems serious in any way. Dating as a parent can be complex In May, Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt split despite welcoming Scottie Rose, their daughter, just months earlier. Breakups happen. They are not always well timed. (And no, staying together for a child’s sake does not do the child any favors.) Reports soon said that Davidson and Hewitt were no longer getting along, even though they’d like to be amicable co-parents and remain friends. Hewitt even admitted that she was looking for some sort of nanny. Her very public post seemed like a thinly veiled callout of Davidson than a help wanted ad. The good news is that, in July, Davidson and Hewitt shared that they had reached a co-parenting agreement. Their priority will, they affirmed, be their daughter. The incident happened in 2023, but Phil is just now opening up about his near-death experience — and the serious drinking that led up to it. In an interview with The Sunday Times, the 75-year-old recalled spending seven months hospitalized in Switzerland after his organs began shutting down. And it seems that at his lowest point, he began drinking first thing in the morning. “I’d have wine when I woke up. That was what I’d want for breakfast, a glass of wine,” he told the Times. “But I didn’t drink into the night, you know. So, I wasn’t really aware of having a problem, to be honest.” Collins says the situation got so bad that there were conversations about “pulling the plug.” “There were some decisions to be made about, ‘Do we keep Phil on life support?’ kind of thing,” Collins said. “My kidneys were packing up, my organs were just seizing up. People were coming to say goodbye.” At one point, Collins was so close to death that his five children traveled from afar to say goodbye to him in his hospital bed. The former Genesis frontman added that he has no memory of those final visits. “But I don’t remember them coming. I didn’t have no idea this was going on,” he explained. “They were all worried that they wouldn’t see me again. It could all have gone so terribly wrong.” Collins was first admitted to the hospital in late 2023 after returning to heavy drinking. He was released shortly before Christmas but was hospitalized again just weeks later, eventually spending months recovering from the ordeal. Thankfully, he says he hasn’t touched a drop since he left the hospital in early 2024. These days, Collins’ health might not be perfect, but at 75, he says he plans to continue touring and recording. His goal was to promote his new YouTube cooking series, The Real Food Show. More on that later. Kennedy ended up distracting from his agenda by some very strange remarks during the interview. “I will literally eat anything,” he announced. Whatever he was about to say, someone on his team thought that it might sound worse than announcing that he doesn’t have a gag reflex and that he eats “even stuff I find on the street.” We said that we would address The Real Food Show, and we will. RFK Jr. gained popularity online because he is a conspiracy theorist, because he has a famous name, but also because he tapped into real anxieties about what corporations have done to foods in order to maximize profits at the expense of consumer health. He is part of a regime that has slashed regulations on these corporations and also cut funding to cancer and other medical research. There’s currently a very famous parasitic outbreak that has claimed lives. It’s not going so well. However, Kennedy seems to believe that he can win back some of his fractured coalition by showing people simple recipes to cook in an economy that Trump has repeatedly sabotaged. Obviously, any celebrity chefs who accept his invitation to join him on the show will need to be avoided thereafter as collaborators. Rowdy is now an adult, and revealing that he spent is final teenage years captive at a private ranch. He says that his parents shipped him off for, among other things, being gay. Posing in a seated position, the caption to his video explains the premise. “Me preparing for the Netflix documentary on how I got adopted by one of the most well known families in the south,” it reads, “while also being gay.” Saying that the Robertsons are one of the most famous families in the south arguably buries the lede a little. The Duck Dynasty clan are notorious conservatives. And the late Phil Robertson was famously homophobic (among other bigotries). (The facility is the ominously named Master’s Ranch Christian Academy, and between Rowdy’s statement and online comments, it may actually be worse than it sounds.) “ … so, I got sent [to MRCA] for one, being a little snot, and two, it was partially because of me being gay, but mainly because I was a little snot.” Rowdy remained at MRCA until he was 18. He described himself as feeling on edge because people would “constantly yell” at the toxic facility. “I’ve allowed myself to, like, understand that trauma isn’t my fault and I’ve allowed myself to grow from it,” he reflected. Since then, he’s attended (real) therapy and also gotten some closure Rowdy did partially attribute his apprehension at yelling to being “on the spectrum,” but yelling is a toxic and unacceptable behavior. No one should yell at neurotypical teens, either. When it comes to being at peace with what he endured, he explained that therapy and closure as an adult have helped him. “ … therapies helped that and actually being able to sit down with my mom and actually talk to her in a neutral zone and actually tell her about all the stuff that happened allowed me.” This, Rowdy explained, allowed him “to actually grow from it to actually be able to speak it out.” He explained that he “faked” confirming at MCRA with the mindset: “They can’t change me being me, so I’m just gonna have to make them think I [changed], so I just had to act.” This is a common survival tactic for people in abusive situations. Robbie was just a baby when his biological mother went to prison. When he was 10, his dad passed away. A couple of years later, he was adopted by the Robertsons. For those unfamiliar, Phil Robertson was so notoriously homophobic that he was suspended from his own show for multiple episodes. He also made other bigoted remarks, expressing racist views. On an episode of her MeSsy podcast, which she co-hosts with fellow actress and MS advocate Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Applegate opened up about enduring a severe kidney infection that left her in excruciating pain. She has also spoken about the emotional impact her illness has had on her family, particularly her teenage daughter, who has struggled to watch her mother’s condition worsen. Despite those challenges, Applegate has consistently maintained her trademark honesty and sense of humor while keeping fans updated through her memoir, podcast, and public appearances.
