At the time, there was widespread speculation that Kneeland had been suffering from CTE, a condition tragically common among NFL players. Now, those fears have been confirmed. (Photo by Pablo Blazquez Dominguez/Getty Images) Eight months after Kneeland’s death at the age of 24, researchers have confirmed that Kneeland was suffering from Stage 1 chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a degenerative brain disease linked to repeated head impacts. His family also confirmed that he died by suicide following the posthumous diagnosis. The Concussion & CTE Foundation announced on July 7 that researchers at Boston University’s CTE Center examined Kneeland’s brain tissue after his death and identified early-stage CTE. “Unfortunately, I was not surprised to find CTE in the brain of Mr. Kneeland, because we have found this progressive brain disease in nearly half of the athletes we’ve studied who have died before the age of 30,” Dr. Ann McKee said in a statement. McKee added that the findings underscore the need for continued research into the disease and its effects on young athletes. Rather than allowing Kneeland’s story to end with tragedy, his loved ones hope his diagnosis encourages more conversations about the long-term effects of repetitive head trauma. His girlfriend, Catalina Mancera, said the family chose to share the diagnosis publicly in the hopes that it could help others. “Marshawn was so much more than the way he died,” she said. “If sharing his story helps even one family recognize the signs or pushes research one step further, then his life will continue to make a difference.” Catalina welcomed a son by Marshawn in June, several months after Kneeland’s death. But those plans reportedly changed at the last minute, with the entire area ultimately being shut down. The sudden closure came during what business owners expected would be a busy holiday weekend, making the financial impact even more frustrating. The business shared news of the unexpected closure on social media, but instead of sympathy, the owner says the post attracted a wave of criticism from Taylor Swift fans. According to TMZ, some commenters argued that a local business losing money paled in comparison to the significance of Swift and Kelce’s wedding, accusing the owner of unfairly criticizing the singer. The owner claims the bar was hit with negative reviews from upset fans, with some calling him “a real piece of s–t” for complaining about the situation. She has now dished on her experiences behind the camera in The Love Producer, a memoir. Now, LaPlaca was a longtime friend of “Pilot Pete,” the windmill-romping and famously indecisive 24th Bachelor. You may recall that Peter made quite the impression when Hannah Brown revealed her windmill escapades. He then dodged a major bullet with Madison Prewett (yikes), proposed to Hannah Ann Sluss, then months later got back with Kelley Flanagan. It turns out that between the end of his two-month engagement to Hannah Ann and his stunning reconciliation with Hannah, Peter had another dalliance. In early 2020, as the Bachelor Nation may recall, there were rumors about Peter’s friendship with Julie. Now, the two were friends, and had also worked together, so with him getting back with Kelley days later, this seemed like just a rumor. She hooked up with him after that, helping him to dodge that bullet for a second time. (Seriously, his mom was right about Madison.) Days later, he was spotted out in public with Kelley. This left Julie feeling blindsided and heartbroken. Technically, Peter hasn’t confirmed each of Julie’s claims, line-by-line. Reading Time: 2 minutes Days after an Idaho mother’s 18-month-old twins died, she was on an RFK Jr.-affiliated podcast. She claimed that her toddlers were vaccine deaths. Now, she has been indicted on two first-degree murder charges. Investigators believes that she planned and carried out the killing of both sons. She has since had another child. (Photo Credit: Ado County Sheriiff’s Office) Dallas and Tyson were helpless toddlers KTVB obtained court records in which a Payette County grand jury indicted Andrew Shaw. The two murder charges stem from the allegation that she killed both of her 18-year-old twins in May of 2025. According to evidence presented to the grand jury, the method of the crime was suffocation. Dallas and Tyson were both toddlers and were found in a shared bed in Northgate Mobile Park in Idaho. First responders shared at the time that they intended to treat the tragic case as a homicide, for obvious reasons. Days after Dallas and Tyson died, Andrea Shaw and her husband were guests on a podcast that receives funding form Children’s Health Defense. That ironically-named organization is an anti-vaccine group, making it effectively the opposite of what its name implies. The group is associated with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who was then and is now Secretary of Health and Human Services as part of the Trump regime. In fact, he previously led this sinister organization. On the podcast, Shaw alleged that vaccines had caused the deaths of her sons. Obviously, that was not the case — and investigators concluded that she knew that firsthand. Authorities fear that another child could be next Shaw’s attorney, Joseph Filicetti, claims to also believe that the twins died simultaneously from routine vaccine schedules. “They were looking at it as a vaccine death,” he told KTVB, “and that’s still what I believe it to be.” He then rambled: “I’m not a medical expert, but the medical experts I have, [they] go through a series of [steps] when looking at different complications.” One has to wonder if Filicetti would still believe that these murders were simply “complications” if speaking, not to a local news outlet, but as an officer of the court. Attorneys have a duty to advocate for their clients. But, as officers of the court, they must stick to certain ethical behaviors in order to avoid contempt or more severe consequences. Last week, Shaw was arrested following the grand jury indictment. She has since been arraigned. She is currently being held on $2 million bond. Even if released, she will be subject to various conditions — including no contact with any minors. This is a matter of some urgency. On June 25, 2026, Shaw underwent a cesarean section. The baby is reportedly in her husband’s care. It seems clear that prosecutors fear that this newborn could face the same violent end that claimed their older siblings. Infanticide can have a variety of motives, but it is not uncommon for a series of infant siblings to meet the same death before the perpetrator is caught. As questions surrounding McConnell’s condition continue to mount, a series of explosive, unverified claims from far-right activist Laura Loomer is gaining quite a bit of traction. McConnell has remained hospitalized since being found unconscious at his home on June 14. Subcommittee Chairman Sen. On Monday, Loomer stepped in to fill the void, claiming that she had spoken with a “very high-level source” who told her McConnell was “officially brain dead.” “A very high-level source told me Mitch McConnell is officially brain dead, and machines are keeping him alive, but he is a vegetable and ‘never coming back,'” Loomer wrote. She did not provide any evidence to support the claim. Loomer also questioned why McConnell’s wife, former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, was reportedly in China while her husband remained hospitalized. “So why is his wife @ElaineChao in China instead of by his side? Is she a Chinese CCP spy? How does the wife of one of the most powerful US Senators just travel to China?” Loomer asked, adding: Oh… Who goes to China when their husband is on life support? Senate Majority Leader John Thune said he had spoken with McConnell following his medical emergency. “He sounded good. He wants to be back,” Thune said, adding: “He is clearly dialed in to what’s going on. He’s following along with stuff we are doing this week up here. Very much so.” Meanwhile, a spokesperson for McConnell also sought to reassure the public, saying the senator was “fully engaged with staff on Senate business and Kentucky matters and is very appreciative of the outstanding care he is receiving.” However, no additional information has been released regarding why McConnell was hospitalized or where he is receiving treatment. Reading Time: 3 minutes On Monday, the latest scandal had Maine senate candidate Graham Platner losing endorsements. Not over the Nazi tattoo. Not the slur use. And not his admittedly-to-the-right-of-most-Republicans gun policy. He has been accused of sexual assault by an ex who initially hesitated to come forward because most of his political aims are positive. (Photo Credit: Mathew Tsang/Getty Images) ‘Graham Platner may drop out’ On Monday, July 6, King tweeted to weigh in on the latest ugly development in the high-stakes Senate race in Maine. “Graham Platner may drop out,” he began by acknowledging. In an alarming parenthetical, King commented: “(I hope he doesn’t, but).” King continued: “Meanwhile, the Abuser in Chief just keeps on keepin’ on.” It appears that King is arguing-by-implication that because Donald Trump is an unrepentant monster, this should impact the standards to which good people hold themselves when choosing politicians. On July 6, 2026, Stephen King announced that he hopes that the rape allegation does not prompt Graham Platner to drop out. (Image Credit: Twitter) Obviously, King heard a lot of angry responses. Instead of retracting his tweet, he doubled down. “Tell you what,” King argued. “If you knew the whole truth about everyone in the Senate and House of Reps,” he suggested, “those chambers would be dead empty.” King continued: “Jesus said, ‘Let him without sin cast the first stone.'” Critics of this perspective and of this particular turn of phrase might make multiple arguments. One of which being that not everyone believes in sin and that billions would feel free to cast stones in this particular scenario. In a follow-up tweet, noted Maine resident Stephen King appeared to suggest that the presence of other predators in government should excuse an accused predator with mostly good policies. The author maintains an active Bluesky account, but did not share these opinions there. Bluesky has been a hotbed for Platner skeptics ever since his Totenkopf was revealed, and before he was caught sharing posts from noted antisemites Stew Peters and Nate Cornacchia. And then, of course, Platner’s reddit history, which included both victim-blaming of rape victims and use of the r-slur, was uncovered. At that point, he should have dropped out. But he did not. And given the mostly-progressive values that his campaign espouses, some bought into the narrative that he was a changed man and the best bet for Maine. It is wrong to suggest that everyone who believed that they could explain away Platner’s alarming history as a transparently bad person was themselves a bad person. Our society constantly drills it into people’s heads that forgiveness is virtuous. Additionally, many are desperate for hope in the economic and cultural bleakness of the Trump regime. But, in real life, you do not need one “strong man” to combat a strongman. And you certainly do not need one sexual predator, accused or otherwise, to combat a sexual predator. Also, the remark about how “those chambers would be dead empty” is a great example of how political cynicism is a poison pill. Yes, there are predators in government already. No, not everyone. And no, there should not be more. King, like many in Maine and throughout the country, likely feels very anxious about the results of the Senate race. He should! Retaking the House and Senate for America could bring a halt to much of the Trump regime’s dismantling of our country, and start investigations and more before 2029. But, at the end of the day, we — the voters — need to be good enough to elect good people to combat bad people. We cannot be so desperate to combat wrongness that we abandon all belief in right and wrong. First and foremost, she’d like to clear up rumors about why she checked herself into the mental health facility. It was not about substance abuse issues. Rehabs are not only for that. There are a list of reasons why people go into them. ‘Just a reset for my mental health’ “My number one priority was just a reset for my mental health, and to get away,” Taylor expressed. She needed a getaway, “whether it’s one day, whether it’s seven, whether it’s 30.” Taylor affirmed: “I willingly did that. That was my choice.” She added that it felt “cruel” for fans to judge her for going to rehab. It was truly the best thing for her. In fact, according to People, Taylor and Travis met with Will and Kate in London just weeks before their wedding. That may have been when the Prince and Princess of Wales broke the news that they would not be able to attend the wedding. It was reportedly Kate’s first time meeting Travis face-to-face. But despite the distance between them, it seems that the two couples enjoy a “real relationship.” “She and Travis really enjoyed spending time with William and Kate. That’s where the connection is,” said Shuter’s source. On her Instagram page on Sunday, July 5, Abrams shared a screenshot of her in a red sequin gown. This was no random snap. She wore this outfit to Taylor and Travis’ wedding. Alongside this pic, she shared a series of other images. Only one of them landed her in hot water with Swifties. The photo that earned some backlash was from the 2018 film, The Favourite. The pic shows Abigail Hill, a fictional character portrayed by Emma Stone, beating up another character, Samuel Masham. Masham is portrayed by Joe Alwyn, an actor whose primary claim to fame remains one erstwhile relationship. From 2016 to 2023, he and Taylor were in a relationship. Notably, Abrams included no context for the screenshot. She didn’t even mention Taylor’s wedding in the caption. What does it mean? Swifties are downright notorious for noticing tiny little details, whether the details mean anything or not. These are, after all, fans of a woman who is affectionately nicknamed blonde Jigsaw. So, yes, people took notice of the single still from an 8-year-old film. But insiders say increasingly byzantine prenups are all the rage in Hollywood these days. So the fact that Tayvis managed to take things to a new level is impressive, in a way. But is all that complexity a good thing? Many marriage purists believe that prenups are a bad idea, as they plant a subconscious seed of doubt in the minds of the newlyweds and make it easier for one or both parties to call it quits in times of strife. The widowed mother of two will be attending preliminary hearings for Tyler Robinson, the man accused of murdering her husband, Charlie Kirk, last September. While Robinson has been charged with aggravated murder and several additional offenses, he has not yet entered a plea. According to the New York Post, the state intends to present surveillance footage, witness testimony, photographs, and other “gruesome” evidence outlining Robinson’s alleged actions before and after the fatal shooting. “It’s going to be a tough week on everybody,” a source told the outlet, adding: “There is going to be evidence presented which the family may choose to leave the courtroom for. “That’s their prerogative. They are going to make those decisions when in court.” Court filings previously described surveillance video that allegedly shows Robinson scouting the area around Utah Valley University before returning with a rifle. Prosecutors also claim the footage captures the shooting and Robinson’s subsequent flight into a nearby wooded area, where investigators later recovered a rifle wrapped in a towel. Authorities have also alleged that investigators found ammunition and a tool used to etch markings into bullet casings at Robinson’s home. Perhaps most notably, prosecutors claim Robinson confessed to the crime on four separate occasions, including in a note allegedly left for his roommate and romantic partner. “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I took it,” the note reportedly states. Prosecutors have also said independent DNA testing conducted by federal agencies allegedly linked Robinson to the recovered rifle, the towel and a screwdriver connected to the investigation. Utah prosecutors have announced they intend to seek the death penalty for Robinson. Although she was not required to appear in court, Erika decided to attend the proceedings alongside Charlie Kirk’s parents, Robert and Kathryn Kirk. A source close to the family told MS Now they felt compelled to attend “to bear witness.” Erika has already played an active role in the legal proceedings through her attorney. She previously argued in favor of allowing cameras inside the courtroom and asserted her right to a speedy trial. The hearing is expected to be livestreamed after Robinson’s attorneys unsuccessfully argued that media coverage could prejudice potential jurors. As the case moves forward, Erika Kirk continues to face an entirely separate battle online. Since Charlie Kirk’s death, a number of conspiracy theories have circulated on social media and in podcasts, falsely claiming that Robinson is being framed or that others were responsible for the killing. Among the false allegations are claims that Erika helped orchestrate or conceal her husband’s death, along with other unsupported accusations connecting her to unrelated public figures and elaborate plots. No evidence has been presented to support those claims. Folarin Balogun — the US men’s team’s top scorer in the World Cup tournament — received a red card after accidentally stepping on the calf of a Bosnia and Herzegovina player, who proceeded to writhe around on the ground as though he’d been mortally wounded. The theatrics worked, and the US played the rest of the game a man down, and Balogun was also to be suspended from the team’s next match. Yeah, a multi-game punishment for a split second of incidental contact (the Bosnian player was completely uninjured, by the way) struck many viewers as excessive. And it seems that one of those viewers was none other than Donald Trump. In a move that’s left the social media soccer community divided (it’s basically US vs. the world), FIFA officials decided to let Balogun play in tonight’s match against Belgium after receiving a call from Trump. “Thank you to FIFA for doing what was right, and reversing a great injustice!” Trump said in a statement on social media on Sunday. According to the report, Buckingham Palace set a deadline for Harry’s RSVP. (No, most people do not need to respond on a strict schedule to find out if they can crash at a parent’s house, but apparently it’s different when that parent wears a crown.) Harry allegedly missed the imposed deadline. That meant that the invitation was rescinded. However, Harry did accept the invitation. ‘Disappointing’ A rep for Harry confirmed that it was “disappointing” that Buckingham Palace had withdrawn the invitation. Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace alleged that he or his team had formally declined the invitation on Saturday — the day after the deadline. Then, when Team Sussex had reached out to accept the offer, it was too late to make arrangements. It is unclear in this reporting how aware Harry was, if at all, that there was a strict timeline to accept the offer. Either way, he’ll have a less convenient — albeit likely more modern — accommodation for the visit. Did Harry drop the ball? Did Charles intend to play weird power games with his son? Are intermediaries representing one or both royals the ones who are playing games? It’s entirely possible that one or all of these are happening. The famous charity program mails free books to children from birth to the age of five, the ages at which most children developmentally first learn to read. Parents reading with children helps childhood development in numerous ways, helping to give them a head start on life. Dolly’s charity work is legendary. “Taylor and Travis, it’s Dolly, and I was just told that you two are making a donation of two million dollars to my Imagination Library,” she stated in her Instagram video. “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” Dolly expressed. “I’m blown away and overjoyed with that gratitude,” Dolly expressed. “Hey, when you have your firstborn, can I have it?” she joked. As you will see in the coverage, it’s hard to make out any details. The dog looks white and cute (because all dogs are cute). But Swifties are operating on a whole other level of sleuthing. Being a fan of blonde Jigsaw will do that to you. Earlier this year, there was footage of a white, fluffy dog exiting one of Taylor’s vehicles. Combined, fans have drawn their own conclusions. We have to emphasize that all of this comes from Swifties sleuthing. Taylor’s team has not confirmed anything of the sort. Travis’ team hasn’t, either. Though many of us have posed for photos with dogs (and cats!) that are not ours, it is fairly conspicuous when such a photo shows up as wedding decor. This week, a man pleaded guilty for his role in this family nightmare. He confessed to sending ransom demands to the Guthries. Though he has no apparent knowledge to help find Nancy, he won’t be prolonging their anguish any further. (Photo Credit: Joe Raedle/Getty Images) He entered a guilty plea On Thursday, July 2, Derrick Callella pleaded guilty to transmitting a demand for ransom in interstate commerce. He also pleaded guilty to using a telecommunications device to abuse, threaten or harass a person. Callella is a resident of Hawthorne, California. He texted two members of Guthrie’s family on February 4 — Annie and Tommaso Cioni. For context, this was mere days after Nancy’s abduction. Callella also allegedly made a nine-second call to another relative. Obviously — now, to us — Callella was making fake ransom demands. He had no knowledge of the case, no access to Nancy, and could only demand payment via cryptocurrency. According to court records, Callella used a VOIP line to message: “Did you get the bitcoin [we’re] waiting on our end for the transaction.” This message came mere moments, investigators say, after the Guthrie family’s first public plea for proof of life. But, despite the content of his messages, Callella had no involvement with the abduction. There was no “we.” He wanted an easy payout for himself. This goes for those sent in February and for the additional note sent to TMZ in recent weeks. It isn’t simply that sending false messages to try to scam money out of grieving, desperate people is illegal. These notes — the ones in February, at least — gave the Guthrie family hope that she might be alive. It is now widely believed by most that Nancy died very early into her abduction. The family’s hopes of reunification with her were false. Callella has not yet been sentenced. His sentencing hearing will be in just over two months, on September 10. At that time, he will be ordered to 10 years of probation. According to court records, after entering his guilty plea, he reported to a residential addiction treatment facility. Reading between the lines, this appears to be a case of a troubled individual who made things worse for an already grieving family. We hope that rehab helps him to set his right life. In them, she described the behavior of two exes. Without her confirming or denying any names, most assume these men to be Tate Paul and Dakota Mortensen. She says that one of these men tricked her into telling more about her trauma and her mental health, and that she was in a “vulnerable” place and told him. Taylor recalled being “scared to ask for help because I was always reminded I’d go to jail if I told anyone.” That threat is sometimes hollow, but not always. It is arguably undeniable that Taylor has faced clear retaliation. On Thursday, July 2, billionaire Michael Rubin threw his famous White Party in the Hamptons. There were a litany of famous guests, including Jay-Z, Teyana Taylor, French Montana, and more. This sort of exclusive, high-end event attracts the rich and powerful and the young and sexy, especially if both groups are famous. Sometimes — as we all saw on the notably-not-a-documentary, Gossip Girl — juicy tidbits spill out these gatherings. Which leads us to this alleged kiss, complete with an age gap controversy. During the event, Maguire and Spice were spotted standing on the balcony of the $50 million oceanfront mansion. It’s unclear how long they were speaking, let alone what topics were under discussion. However, it appeared that Spice leaned in for a kiss at one point. And Maguire appeared to place a hand on her arm and pull her close in the process. Without the perfect angle, we have to acknowledge that the entire world could be misreading what happened. But … it sure looks intimate, we’ll say that much. PHTOO THREE Whether the two shared a kiss or just appeared to due to a series of remarkable coincidences, they weren’t hiding whatever was going on. This was a huge party. The pair had to know that there would be witnesses and likely photos. Ice Spice is a huge talent, with friends like Taylor Swift. She was both famously and infamously the song behind a recent Spongebob Squarepants project. And Tobey Maguire is, well, Tobey Maguire. He’s the first of three live-action Spider-Man stars. To be blunt, neither of them are strangers to fame. They are under a spotlight and a microscope at all times. Some have (understandably) raised their eyebrows at the age gap. Maguire is 51. Spice is 26. She’s barely over half his age. In fact, just a few months ago, Maguire got backlash over allegedly dating 20-year-old Mishka Silva. That said, he’s not one of those guys who only dates 20-somethings. He was previously linked to Tatiana Dieteman, who is in her 30s. Dating someone half your age — or less — should not become a habit. That’s usually a red flag that someone wants a less confident, less But allegedly kissing at a party is not, in fact, dating. Another source dished that, in Nashville, word is making the rounds that the pair “aleady got legally married.” Why there and not in New York, where their big July 3 wedding takes place? New York marriage licenses are sealed, but Page Six reports that Taylor and Travis haven’t been legally married there. According to another insider, a small ceremony went down somewhere in Tennessee. This was a legal event, in front of a small group of loved ones. Additionally, a site that tracks Taylor’s infamous and widely memed private jet noted that she made a series of eye-opening stops on the final Sunday in June. These stops appeared to be in cities where some of their closest relatives reside. Though we here at THG cannot claim to magically know Taylor’s best-kept secrets, it appears that she and Travis may have had a simple legal wedding ahead of time so that they can get that out of the way and then focus on their big day together. Smart! High-powered wedding guests are ‘flying blind’ Despite the non-disclosure agreements and the watermarked invites to protect against unwanted secret-spilling, we do know quite a bit about Taylor and Travis’ wedding. For example, there will be over 1,000 guests. While some — like Harry Styles — received invites but cannot attend, attendees will include everyone from family to friends to titans of industry, like several Disney bigwigs. Rumor has it that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds did not make the list, which sounds like a true tragedy. We cannot claim to know what was on Taylor’s mind. But you’d think that someone whose name has been dragged through the mud by terrible men would be more understanding of what Blake went through, right? According to Variety, a bunch of A-listers are “flying blind” because of the hush-hush nature of the wedding. Yes, they know to show up at MSG on July 3. But that’s it — no motif, no colors, no further instructions, really. Some have spent top dollar to have stylists pull multiple looks ahead of time, just so that they have options at the last minute. (Imagine attending the wedding of the decade and having to dress for it under a, like, RuPaul’s Drag Race time crunch.) Anyway, we’re all pulling for this to go off spectacularly.
