Reading Time: 2 minutes Late last year, teen Anna Kepner was brutally murdered while on a Carnival Cruise with her family. Her younger stepbrother was soon identified as a suspect and then arrested. Until now, he had been allowed pretrial release, as he was being charged as a juvenile. He is now being charged as an adult for this heinous crime. (Photo Credit: Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images) She died by homicide last November On November 2 of 2025, 18-year-old Anna took a fateful family trip aboard the Carnival Cruise Line’s Horizon. She was with her father, Christopher Kepner, his new wife, Shauntel Hudson, and Shauntel’s son, 16-year-old Timothy Hudson. Also in the group were two half-siblings and a younger step-sister. Anna was last seen alive on the night of November 6. The next morning, she was found dead under her bed, wrapped in a blanket and “hidden” with life vests. The FBI investigated. The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office determined that her cause of death was mechanical asphyxiation — an arm placed across her throat. Per the ruling, the manner of death was homicide. Initially, Hudson was arrested and charged as a juvenile for the murder of his stepsister. He appeared before a federal magistrate in February 2026, and was represented by a public defender. In April, he was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of murder and aggravated sexual abuse. He will be tried as an adult. Previously, the court had allowed him a pre-trial release, staying with a relative. That has now changed. Timothy Hudson will be tried as an adult On Monday, June 15, Hudson surrendered to US Marshals at the direction of Judge Edwin Torres. The judge had reviewed existing evidence in the case. People reported that the judge found that the prosecution’s “case for a forcible rape is beyond clear and convincing.” The judge noted that the evidence “suggests a level of psychopathy and lack of remorse that by itself raises a serious concern that [Hudson] can snap at any time, despite the well-meaning and serious efforts of his caretakers to make sure that does not happen.” Hudson is of course, legally speaking, innocent until proven guilty. But judges can and must weigh evidence to balance this legal principle against other factors, such as likely danger to the community and risk of flight. Federal statutes are absolutely right to emphasize rehabilitation over pretrial detention for minors. (Frankly, that should be the case for adults, too. Prison doesn’t make anyone better, and neither does jail. Whenever possible, it’s better to find an alternative.) There are, however, exceptions. Whether it’s fascists and collaborators in a few years as we retake our federal government, or someone who has shown a propensity for remorseless violence on a smaller scale, some people need to be behind bars as a matter of public good and personal safety. It’s likely that Judge Torres did not make this ruling lightly. If anything, this ruling is a preview of the level and severity of the physical evidence that investigators have recovered and processed. Considering that he was openly wishing for lower viewing numbers for part of this season, the writing was kind of on the wall. Still, we’ll see him again — starting with the bonus episode. On Monday, June 15, TMZ reported that Wilson “was not picked up” for Summer House Season 11. The upcoming season of the hit Bravo reality series begins filming early next month, likely over Fourth of July weekend. Wilson will not be taking part. The same report acknowledges, however, that he could potentially make a cameo as the show continues. Whether he will is very much to-be-determined. Wilson first joined Summer House in Season 8, which of course premiered back in 2024. For months, he dated his gorgeous castmate, Ciara Miller. Season 10 saw their relationship, with them even sharing a kiss. What Summer House fans have since learned is that Wilson also secretly pursued a relationship with her bestie, Amanda Batula. Not only did they hide this entanglement from Miller, but also from Kyle Cooke — who was married to Miller until January 2026. It’s safe to say he’s not been enjoying his public figure status It came as no surprise when the Summer House Season 10 reunion not only spanned multiple episodes (including Tuesday, June 16’s bonus episode), but focused extensively upon this secret fling. During the episode, Wilson and Batula defended their relationship timeline, though many have questions — believing that there was cheating involved. Andy Cohen and castmates alike called out Wilson for being on beta blockers. Wilson and Batula may both insist that they were single when they hooked up, but Miller spoke to Meija Moreno — who said that she was actively dating Wilson when the world learned about his Batula entanglement. Even if there was no cheating, a lot of people feel that the secrecy was in and of itself a huge betrayal of their erstwhile friendships. By the way, Wilson was not at home while the reunion episodes aired. Instead, he and Batula were in Italy to attend his cousin’s wedding. After he got home, he earned widespread backlash after saying that he hoped that the Knicks would lose, so that public interest in an additional game would distract people from Tuesday’s bonus episode. I would have ended up dead or in jail. I would have killed myself if it wasn’t for you and Jesus. I thank you for that.” Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO’s relationship has long been a central part of the singer’s public story. The pair first met in 2015 at one of his concerts in Las Vegas and quickly formed a connection. A year later, Jelly Roll proposed to Bunnie onstage during a concert appearance in Las Vegas. According to previous accounts of their relationship, the couple secretly tied the knot later that same night in a courthouse ceremony, keeping the wedding under wraps from friends and family. According to an insider close to the former child star, he began feeling extremely ill during the flight. He even ended up being checked out by a doctor on the plane. That was not enough. It was concluded that he needed real medical attention — and so he was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital upon arrival. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that they had responded to the airport. Corey was transported to a local hospital to receive further evaluation and treatment. At present, TMZ reports that he is still undergoing tests at the hospital. Apparently, doctors suspect that pancreatitis or gallstones could be to blame for his symptoms. It’s good to hear that doctors are taking their time and looking him over. What could be wrong? It may sound odd for such an emergency to take place during a flight, but it also makes sense. Changes in air pressure can exacerbate existing symptoms. Additionally, some ailments grow worse with dehydration. Most people actively avoid hydrating well during a flight, because, well, it’s one toilet shared by dozens of people. If you can skip having to use it, all the better. Another factor can be stress during travel. It’s a stressful thing to do for most people, and can make hidden ailments present themselves. Before his return flight, Corey seemed to be having a good time in Illinois. He shared some content from the “Stand By Me” Live Tour in Chicago. Corey also visited the historic sight of the Jackson family home over in Gary, Indiana. It is such a shame that such a pleasant-sounding trip ended in a crisis. No cause of death has been publicly disclosed, but insiders have divulged that Barker died following an “unexpected medical emergency” last week. Barker joined Love Island USA in 2020 as a story producer before rising through the ranks to become executive producer for the show’s past three seasons. Along the way, he played a key role in both production and post-production and helped oversee the series’ soundtrack. Barker’s television career began at Leftfield Pictures in 2011, where he worked on popular reality programs including Pawn Stars, Forged in Fire, and Counting Cars. He later added credits on Queer Eye and several other unscripted projects before becoming one of the driving creative forces behind Love Island USA and its spinoffs. Just days before his death, Barker celebrated the launch of Season 8 on social media. “We come to Fiji for magic,” he wrote in a June 3 Instagram post while praising the cast and crew behind the series. During the documentary, it is revealed that, mere months into his romance with Kourtney, she suffered a miscarriage. This was a dark emotional moment for them both. “When we lost the baby, we were devastated,” Kourtney told the camera, per Us Weekly‘s reporting. She detailed: “We cried for days.” According to the couple, Kourt became pregnant about 6 months into their relationship. (As fans will no doubt remember, the two first became entangled in 2021, and went on to marry in May of 2022.) This was not a brief thing — not, for example, a chemical pregnancy. Travis and Kourt went so far as to learn that they were expecting a girl. Their intention was to name their potential future daughter Tulip. Ultimately, their perseverance paid off According to the documentary, they were at the three-month mark and attending a doctor’s appointment when they got the news. Marius Borg Hoiby, the son of Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit and stepson of Crown Prince Haakon, has been sentenced to four years in prison after being convicted on multiple criminal charges, including two counts of rape. The verdict was handed down Monday by the Oslo District Court following a lengthy and closely watched trial that has dominated headlines in Norway for months. The court ultimately found him guilty on 34 counts, including rape, domestic violence, assault, drug-related offenses, and other crimes. He was acquitted on several charges, including two additional rape allegations. While Hoiby is closely connected to Norway’s royal family, he does not hold a royal title and is not in the line of succession to the throne. Still, his relationship to the future king and queen has ensured intense public scrutiny throughout the case. According to CBS News, prosecutors argued that several of the women involved were unable to consent because they were unconscious or otherwise incapacitated. One of the rape convictions involved an incident that took place in the basement of the royal family’s official residence. The court also found Hoiby guilty of abusing former girlfriend Nora Haukland, one of the few accusers who has been publicly identified. In addition to his prison sentence, he was ordered to pay compensation to multiple victims and was issued a restraining order related to one of the women involved in the case. Prosecutors had sought a much longer sentence of more than seven years behind bars. Hoiby’s defense team, meanwhile, argued for a substantially lighter punishment. The disgraced royal relative has consistently denied the rape allegations and is expected to appeal the verdict. The case has cast a long shadow over Norway’s royal family, which, unlike the British royal family, has traditionally enjoyed strong public support and a largely scandal-free reputation. In recent months, the trial has generated intense debate throughout the country about privilege, accountability, and whether royal connections influenced the investigation. Adding to the family’s difficulties, Crown Princess Mette-Marit is reportedly awaiting a lung transplant as she continues to battle serious health issues. His new facility, Federal Medical Center of Fort Worth, specializes in medical and mental health services. Immediately, longtime Duggar watchers began to speculate about what might have led to the change of venue. His attorney is offering a limited explanation for the transfer. Not everyone is convinced. Already in custody, Josh Duggar continued to exude a smug presence when posing for mugshots. Speaking to TMZ, he insists that his client is doing just “fine” despite what one might assume from his transfer from FCI Seagoville to FMC Forth Worth. According to Brindley, this was a “routine” transfer. Which, obviously, tells us nothing. So, what did Brindley choose to divulge? According to Brindley, the May 29 transfer was not related to Josh’s health. TMZ notes that FMC Fort Worth primarily caters to severely ill inmates who require inpatient management, intensive monitoring, or both. In other words, no one gets transferred to FMC Fort Worth for a checkup. Or for fun. But that’s what Brindley has to share. And the Bureau of Prisons isn’t going to violate federal privacy laws to satisfy our curiosity. Alas. Upon his arrest, Josh Duggar was charged with receiving and possessing CSAM. In court, attorneys are officers of the court — and must conduct themselves in specific ways, including never lying to a judge, let along suborning perjury. Attorneys also have obligations to advocate for their cause or client. Many view these as sacred tenants of their profession. However, when attorneys speak to the press, they are wearing a very different hat. We make no statement to impugn Brindley’s integrity or to imply that these statements were dishonest. We just have to acknowledge that TMZ is not a judge and Brindley’s statements would be in Josh’s best interests rather than intended to give TMZ the most accurate scoop. Josh is currently serving a 12.5 year sentence following his conviction for receiving and possesing child sex-abuse material (CSAM). In fact, his release date was just pushed back — and not for the first time. At present, Josh will be in prison until February 2033. He is fighting to overturn his conviction, shorten his sentence, or whatever else he can do to wriggle out of the legal consequences for his crimes. Branded as Freedom 250, it did not take place on or represent America’s upcoming 250th anniversary. Instead, it took place on Donald Trump’s birthday. He is now 80. The gauche display was, simply put, beyond parody. The Idiocracy parallels are difficult to ignore. However, one of the most contemptible moments of the night came courtesy of Josh Hokit, a UFC fighter with a penchant for inflammatory commentary. “Shout out to Trump,” he began his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, “for having the balls to put some s–t like this on.” Hokit then praised his religion’s central figure, Jesus, as “more incredible than the Incredible Hok.” Here, he equates part of his surname to the Marvel hero, the Hulk. He then made a remark about fighter Alex Pereira’s mother. It was sexual in nature. “And lastly,” he announced while grinning, “Michelle Obama is a man.” Anticipating cheers, he asked: “Am I right, America?” The reaction sounded more like groans — even from a deeply Trump-friendly crowd. These days, people note that it is odd — if not unexpected — for Donald Trump to appear so fixated on President Joe Biden, who dropped out of the 2024 race and has been out of office for what feels like the longest 17 months in world history. Insulting President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama over a decade after they left the White House is incredibly strange. There is a fixation upon the Obama presidency by the American right. It was a time of social progress. The reactionary backlash to these positive changes — and to our first Black president — doomed us to over a decade of Trump. In the former First Lady, conservatives find an educated Black woman, one of their deepest fears. Bigots imagining her to be a transgender woman or as a secret man pulling some sort of The Birdcage act has been going on since long before any of us had heard the word transvestigating. These social constructs are used to reinforce both systemic and personal racism. What’s really odd is that Hokit would have been, what, a high schooler when the Obamas left the White House? He would have been a tween at most when President Obama first took office. Cultural malice and this sort of vice signaling don’t have to make sense. It’s arguably not supposed to. For a man who once stood on Buckingham Palace balconies before cheering crowds, the eighth row probably wasn’t exactly what he had in mind. Harry attended the game without Meghan Markle or the couple’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Instead, he was accompanied by JP Lane, a U.S. Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient who is expected to compete in the next Invictus Games. The prince was reportedly already in San Antonio for the Warrior Games and was invited to attend the matchup by Silver. In fact, Harry was seated near Silver during the game, which may explain why he wasn’t in the celebrity-packed courtside section. Still, social media users couldn’t help but notice the contrast. While Chalamet, Stiller and other Knicks superfans occupied the highly visible celebrity row, Harry’s seat was several rows behind the action. And yes, plenty of royal critics immediately seized on the optics. Of course, Harry wasn’t the only recognizable face sitting outside the VIP section. Sydney Sweeney, Scooter Braun, and Billy Baldwin were also reportedly seated away from the courtside spotlight. Knicks superfan Spike Lee was also in attendance, and Harry haters alleged that he snubbed the Duke of Sussex. “If it was a friendly interaction Spike would’ve first shaken Harry’s hand – not point at him,” one social media user wrote, according to GB News. “Harry went to high 5 but when Spike ignored that Harry followed through with the hand to touch his chest,” another added. But it appears that Spike was just joking when he declined to take Harry’s hand. Seconds later, the two laughed and embraced. Unlike some similar documentaries, Tyra actually participated — even if she avoided some topics, like her erstwhile friendship with Jay Manuel. In her legal filing, which People obtained, she alleges that the docuseries was maliciously edited to reinforce a false narrative against her. Tyra is seeking a jury trial to determine “appropriate” compensation. “[Tyra] did share her side. Her answers were very honest,” the legal filing claims. “But the story that viewers heard was the deceptive story producers chose to tell.” “Tyra Banks participated in the Netflix documentary series [on] America’s Next Top Model (‘ANTM’),” the filing explained. The explanation continued: “Because she believed viewers deserved a candid conversation about the show’s legacy — its successes and its shortcomings.” Tyra’s team added: “There are aspects of the show for which Ms. Banks takes accountability and she wanted ANTM viewers to hear that from her directly.” Pursuant to this goal, the filing says that she “did not limit the ANTM topics the interviewer could ask.” Even so, the filing alleges that only 16 minutes of Tyra’s lengthy interview made it into the final docuseries. We allegedly didn’t see part of her responses to really pivotal topics Tyra believes that the clips what the docuseries did include were “stripped of context and reassembled to support a false and defamatory narrative unrelated to what she actually expressed.” A big issue in the filing is that the doc was marketed as a documentary, with the filing arguing that “the genre matters.” “Viewers of a documentary do not expect manufactured drama or constructed narratives,” the filing notes. “They expect facts.” Tyra’s team argues: “Because they were promised a documentary, that is exactly how viewers interacted with the Netflix Series.” The filing highlights specific moments from interviews — moments that Netflix’s editors allegedly spliced out to rob other statements of context, and to make Tyra appear more villainous. Among the moments that Tyra alleges were robbed of vital context were the sexual assault of Shandi Sullivan and Miss J’s stroke and recovery. Her lawsuit isn’t only about damages. Tyra is suing for “loss of future business opportunities, loss of business income, other compounding losses as will be shown at trial.” She also wants compensation for being part of the series given the “significant mental anguish” that she has experienced in the aftermath. This sounds like a complex legal matter. We don’t know which way a jury might rule. There’s a non-zero chance that this ends with an out of court settlement of some kind. The NBA icon — whose Cleveland Cavs were previously knocked out of the playoffs by the ascendant New York Knicks — was arrested early Saturday morning in Houston after police discovered a handgun in his vehicle during a traffic stop. According to court records obtained by TMZ, Harden was driving a Mercedes through downtown Houston at approximately 3:40 AM when officers stopped the vehicle. He was later released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 22. Just days after Anthony was sentenced to 35 years in prison, the father of slain teen Austin Metcalf took to social media to share his thoughts on the verdict. And instead of offering his condolences to Karmelo’s parents or calling for compassion and empathy, as many hoped he would, Jeff Metcalf is stoking the flames of racial hatred. Karmelo Anthony posed for a new mugshot before beginning his lengthy sentence. (Collin County) During an appearance on Sarah Fields’ “JinxedSip” podcast, Metcalf unleashed a tirade of anger, much of it laden with truly shocking bigotry. Metcalf began by calling out Karmelo’s father, saying, “Andrew Anthony, you’re a p–sy and a coward, and you raised one.” He then turned his attention to Karmelo’s mother, saying: “Kala, you drunk b–ch. What did you do to that boy to make him stab somebody? My God, what kind of mother are you? Austin then turns his attention to someone named Kevin Hayes, who allegedly wanted to fight him. Watch full video on TMZ He refers to Hayes as “the only one in your family without a record,” then says, “I guess that’s something to brag about in your culture.” It’s at that point that the rant becomes even more explicitly racist: “You people hang your hat on the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen,” Metcalf seethes. “Let me make something racist up so y’all can go viral. I got a new name for ‘Melo … How about ‘Watermelon Felon?’ How’s that one strike you?” Metcalf then taunts Kala and Andrew about Karmelo’s future: “I hope he enjoyed his first night in that cell last night. Because he’s gonna have many nights to think about what the f–k he did. Metcalf then makes a rather dubious claim, saying: The mug shot of accused murderer Karmelo Anthony. (Collin County) “I forgave him so that I don’t carry the hate and the anger. So that I don’t get ate up. Like cancer, it kills you from the inside. “So when people ask me, ‘How can you forgive him?’ If I didn’t, I would’ve wound up killing him and going to prison myself.” When discussing the Anthony case, it’s important to bear in mind that we’re talking about two sets of parents consumed by grief over two promising young lives cut short. Austin Metcalf is dead at the age of 17. Karmelo Anthony will be nearly 40 before he’s even eligible for parole. All of this over a momentary altercation at a high school track meet. The situation is almost unfathomably tragic, and despite his claims to the contrary, we have no doubt that Jeff Metcalf is consumed with outrage over the senseless circumstances of his son’s death. But none of that gives him the excuse to make the situation even more horrific and dangerous by encouraging racial hatred toward the Anthony family. The reaction to Metcalf’s comments has been predictably negative, but sadly, he’s already found quite a few supporters in the darker corners of social media. Jenelle added: “I literally would be like, ‘This is gonna be used for our advantage.’ “Like, I feel like lots of people have got DUIs before,” Jenelle commented, calling back memories of Deavon Clegg’s allegations about her endangering her kids with impaired driving. She continued: “No, it’s not great that she got a DUI, but hopefully she learns from it, but then she can talk about it.” ‘You’re not good enough for Kail’ According to Jenelle, Kail ditched Lindsie as soon as she caught some heat. His biggest accomplishment may be that SpaceX, his rocket company, is going public — inflating its estimated valuation to thirteen digits. The plan is to raise around $75 billion, elevating the company’s total estimated value to $1.77 trillion. This is both the largest I.P.O. in history and a huge risk for investors. The New York Times warns that analysts have argued that SpaceX is “significantly overvalued.” SpaceX is not a profitable company. It is reliant upon government contracts and lost billions last year. Still, many investors operate on FOMO. For other examples, look no further than investments in LLM (“AI”) companies over the past couple of years. These are slop projects that don’t generate profit and a bubble that is doomed to burst (sooner rather than later, please), but investors hope to squeeze as much profit out as possible — and are gambling that they’ll cut and run sooner than others when the only tech scam more annoying than NFTs finally collapses. Say what you will about SpaceX, but while it doesn’t generate a profit, it does at least offer a product or service: rockets. Should governments be contracting space flight to private companies instead of funding our own rockets and shuttles? Of course not. But rockets are a real product that do a measurable amount of good despite their environmental impact. That counts for something, right? SpaceX goes public tomorrow. What about everyday people who neither like nor trust Musk or his products? Well, if you have certain investment portfolios, like a 401(k), you might be out of luck. See, normally, a company that’s just gone public doesn’t get included in the nation’s top stock indexes. However, SpaceX got fast-tracked, by their own request. That’s a little odd, especially for a company that loses billions annually. People with investments in index fund behemoths like Fidelity and Vanguard may end up accidentally enriching Musk without their knowledge or approval. And carrying significant risk in the process. The pogrom in Belfast in which a white nationalist mob attacked people for the color of their skin came only after Musk repeatedly boosted Musk’s DOGE cuts as part of the Trump regime’s early months are already responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths. One of the many victims was funding for screwworm monitoring, which works to avoid exactly the problem that has now cropped up in two US states (and counting). That, on top of so much else, has many people clamoring for Musk to be tried at the Hague. It’s a lovely sentiment, but a little dramatic. The United States (not to mention N. Ireland and elsewhere) has plenty of courts that will do just as well. The good news is that Musk becoming a trillionaire is mostly a matter of valuation. People estimate that his products have some sort of value, inflated how much they guess that he’s worth, in theory. These numbers can plummet. The even better news is that no amount of wealth actually makes someone immune to prosecution and other legal actions. The news sparked tense debate across social media, as Anthony, who is Black, was sentenced to 35 years after being convicted by a jury with no Black jurors. Now, Congressman Randy Fine is stoking the flames of controversy by insisting that Anthony deserved an even harsher sentence. (Collin County) “Karmelo Anthony deserves the death penalty,” the Arizona congressman tweeted this week, adding: “Anything less is unacceptable.” Now, Anthony is a teen who committed a non-premeditated murder during a heated confrontation, all of which would make him a highly unlikely candidate for the death penalty. But Fine doubled down on his remarks when TMZ caught up with him earlier this week. “What he did to that kid was horrible, and I think it’s important to tell our country that we’re not going to allow that kind of behavior,” Fine told the outlet. “Part of the reason to send a message that strong is because of all the people who didn’t think he should be punished at all. Watch full video on TMZ When the TMZ journalist pointed out that Anthony could have received a manslaughter conviction (and we don’t typically execute teens to make a political point in this country), Fine stood his ground. “I think we need to send a message about behaviors we’ll put up with and behaviors that we won’t,” he said. The Texas jury rejected Anthony’s self-defense claim and he was eventually sentenced him to 35 years in prison. Fine was quick to express support for a harsher punishment after the verdict was revealed, maintaining that Anthony deserved the death penalty despite the fact that Texas law prohibited such a sentence because of Anthony’s age at the time of the crime. His remarks immediately generated backlash from critics who accused him of politicizing a tragedy and inflaming tensions surrounding an already divisive case. Others, however, applauded Fine for taking a hardline stance in support of the Metcalf family. Prosecutors argued that Anthony escalated a dispute and fatally stabbed Metcalf, while defense attorneys maintained that Anthony feared for his safety and acted in self-defense. According to Brandi, she was dating an adult film star — one who was, perhaps, a little naive. “He would only, you know, my face because he didn’t want to get me pregnant,” Brandi explained. Rather, ringworm is a fungal infection of the hair, skin, or nails. And, yes, ringworm can spread via skin-to-skin contact, including during sex. “If it’s in your throat, they can burrow deep into your ears and all that,” Brandi characterized dramatically.
