This senseless crime has spawned unhinged conspiracy theories and led to an unprofessional blame game among agencies. A haunting anonymous tip may have put rescuers on the right track. (Photo Credit: Joe Raedle/Getty Images) The anonymous tip comes after well over 100 days since she was kidnapped Buscando Corazones Nogales is a Mexican volunteer group that searches for missing people in, as the name would suggest, Nogales, Mexico. (Nogales shares a border with Arizona, to the point that there is also a Nogales on the American side.) This week, they received a grim tip about an unmarked grave. The group mobilized, rushing to a remote area near the national border in an effort to find her possible remains. Their search had the support of the Sonora State Commission for the Search of Missing Persons. As January faded into February, an unknown individual abducted Nancy from her home in Tuscon, Arizona. It was a violent abduction. Small traces of Nancy’s blood were found at the scene. We do not know where the 84-year-old was then transported against her will. There were immediate fears about her well-being, including because she did not have her medication. Her home is located approximately 70 miles from the border. More than once, it has been suggested that a kidnapper may have opted to cross the border in order to thwart investigators. They found unmarked graves, but no sign of her (yet) When Buscando Corazones Nogales searched the area indicated by the anonymous tip, they did find unmarked graves. Plural. The group found 25 unmarked graves on the site. However, there was no sign of Nancy. The group contacted Mexican authorities. However, those authorities in turn apparently did not contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department with any updates. According to Pima County officials, they don’t have any positive news to share from the latest search. It is possible that she could be found eventually, even if fresher graves would presumably be easier to find for searchers. However, we have to acknowledge that it’s possible that she was never there. Maybe the anonymous tip came from someone who believed her to be among the dead there. It is also possible that someone hoped that the site would be found, and cynically calculated that naming a famous missing person might get it urgent attention. If so, they were right. Golf legend Phil Mickelson is facing serious allegations that have reportedly resulted in his removal from a club where he had been a fixture for decades. The employee reportedly informed supervisors that Mickelson engaged in what Golf Digest described as “nonconsensual and inappropriate physical contact.” According to the report, club officials confronted Mickelson while he was still on the course and asked him to leave before completing his round. The Farms Golf Club did not identify Mickelson by name in a statement provided to Golf Digest, but the club confirmed that it had investigated a complaint involving a member. “Following a staff member report of member misconduct, the Club provided immediate and ongoing support to the staff member, conducted a thorough independent investigation of the incident and took decisive action,” the statement read. “This individual is no longer a member of The Farms Golf Club.” Multiple sources have now identified the former member as Mickelson. The golf legend has not publicly addressed the allegation himself, but a spokesperson offered a brief statement to the publication. “Any misunderstanding has been cleared up,” the spokesperson said. “Phil continues to attend to a family health matter and is uncertain when he will be able to return to professional golf.” The allegations arrive during a period in which Mickelson has largely been absent from the public eye. Appearing on Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, Millie explained that adoption wasn’t some backup plan or last-minute decision. In fact, she says it’s something she dreamed about since childhood. “Always, always wanted to adopt,” she shared (via People), recalling that even her childhood dolls were “adopted” in her imagination rather than biological children. The actress and Bongiovi announced last summer that they had welcomed a baby girl through adoption, describing the experience as the beginning of a beautiful new chapter for their family. Paltrow is getting put on blast for the “greed and depravity” of this venture. Will she even care about the backlash? She’s advertising for lavish $10 million penthouses in a pair of 51-story luxury skyscrapers in Herzliya, developed by Aviv Melisron. (Herzliya is a small city in occupied Palestine named after Theodore Herzl, the founder of modern Zionism.) In the ad — which is in English and was filmed primarily in New York, Paltrow goes for a morning jog and then asks her driver to head to “Herzliya, Israel.” That’s a little far for a car to travel, being on another continent. But the bizarre premise for the ad is barely a footnote when it comes to the richly deserved backlash. The backlash against Paltrow has been vocal across social media. Many are bringing up a recent Goop podcast video in which she admitted that her husband, Brad Falchuk, views her as a conservative. She identifies as a centrist and says that she doesn’t “feel anything” right now, a remark full of astounding privilege but also a hefty dose of her trademark cluelessness. Paltrow has worked with Israeli projects before. In 2024, she teamed up with Noa Tishby — a former sometimes-actress who showed up to ruin episodes of some great Vancouver-filmed shows about 20 years ago — who is now a notorious and seemingly full-time Zionist influencer. Who is the target audience of this ad? People might have a negative response even if she were advertising $10 million condos in Glasgow. This is a time of extreme economic pressure, particularly given the Trump regime’s work to increase inflation. However, advertising land that was stolen in living memory to form the apartheid state of Israel is on another level. Then, after the IDF began the wholesale slaughter of entire families, carrying out the ethnic cleansing of Gaza. Israel is now on the UN’s list of countries that use rape as a weapon of war. Convinced that they can continue with impunity, they have also directed their unending aggression towards neighboring countries, bombing Lebanon and Iran with apparent expansionist aims. Something that political and pop culture podcaster Matt Bernstein pointed out that we’d like to echo is that this commercial indicates its true purpose. It’s filmed in the US. Paltrow speaks English in it. And it cast a famous US actress and Goop-pusher. This is not a commercial intended to convince Israelis to move to 51 Park. Rather, this appears to be an advertisement to convince wealthy American Zionists to move to Israel, and live in luxury atop the bones of slaughtered Palestinians. Israel has lost a lot of public support in recent years, now that more of the world — especially within the US — see the country for what it is. According to People, Gates acknowledged that Epstein became aware of affairs he had while married to Melinda French Gates and attempted to use that information to pressure him into maintaining contact. Gates said the effort was unsuccessful and insisted that his personal misconduct had nothing to do with his meetings with Epstein. The Microsoft co-founder has spent much of the past year trying to explain why he continued meeting with Epstein after the financier’s 2008 conviction for soliciting a minor. Gates says he believed Epstein might be able to help raise money for global health initiatives. That plan apparently went nowhere. Gates testified that he cut off contact after realizing Epstein couldn’t deliver the philanthropic support he had promised. Their association reportedly ended in 2014. If there’s one sentiment that Gates has repeated consistently throughout this saga, it’s that his relationship with Epstein was a mistake. During his congressional appearance, Gates again described his dealings with Epstein as a “grave error in judgment” and expressed regret for ever associating with him. He maintained that he never witnessed illegal conduct, never visited Epstein’s private island, and never participated in any criminal activity. Still, critics have long questioned why one of the world’s most powerful businessmen continued meeting with a convicted sex offender in the first place. That’s a question Gates may never fully escape. The testimony comes amid renewed attention on Epstein’s connections to wealthy and influential figures following the release of additional documents tied to the federal investigation. Earlier this year, Gates publicly acknowledged past affairs and admitted that his association with Epstein had caused significant damage to both his reputation and the work of the Gates Foundation. Two of the guests at the nuptials were Rupert Finch and his wife, Lady Natasha. Yes, it is significant — especially with William and Kate in attendance. During her time at the University of St. Andrews, Kate was a freshman while Rupert was what we’d call a senior. (The British don’t do freshman-sophomore-junior-senior but have various “forms” and at this point we’re too afraid to ask what that means.) At that time, Kate and Rupert dated — however briefly. It mattered enough that the sixth and final season of The Crown (years after it stopped being good) portrayed the relationship on screen. Obviously, they ended up breaking up. She went on to date William, though the two were initially just friends. That sounds potentially awkward. Was it? Despite what one might imagine, there is no real reason to believe that this reunion of the exes was awkward. This isn’t just because it’s been a couple of decades since they dated. Though that is, of course, a factor. Even 15 years ago, when Kate and William married, things were cool. Rupert was a guest at their royal wedding. Kate’s other ex, Willem Marx, was also present. For that matter, William invited exes Arabella Musgrave, Jecca Craig, Olivia Hunt, and Carly Massy-Birch. For his part, Rupert is also married to Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs, which is a lot of names for one aristocrat. By the way, Kate also owns some of Natasha’s dresses — Natasha being the founder of Beulah London. Way back in 2010, William proposed to Kate. She said yes. The two have married, welcomed three children, and are in line to become king and queen as British insists upon continuing their monarchy for some reason. The first is that she has confessed to using GLP-1 medications for luxury weight loss, even posting paid promotions. The second is that she has returned to tennis several years after retiring. But there’s growing buzz about banning BLP-1 as a performance-enhancing drug. Is she going to have to choose between them? Should she? Last year, Serena announced her partnership with Ro — a company in which her husband, Alexis Ohanian, has invested. According to her narrative, she struggled to lose weight after giving birth to two daughters, which led her to trying Zepbound. Now, Serena has last weight and returned to the world of tennis — though she says that she’s only playing doubles for fun. This does make her the most prominent athlete to have openly used GLP-1 drugs for luxury weight loss. Anti-doping authorities in the tennis world and beyond have been monitoring GLP-1 drugs since 2024, shortly after the fad took off. For now, they are not a prohibited substance. They are also not currently classified as a performance-enhancing drug by WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency). It is possible that this will never change. There are arguments for banning the use of GLP-1s in sports, allowing it, and also for something in between. Do they actually enhance anyone’s athletic performance though? In Tennis, anti-doping protocols are managed by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA). WADA oversees compliance. Serena claimed that, despite being one of the greatest athletes on Earth, she struggled to lose weight through diet and exercise until she began using a GLP-1 medication. (Again, there is a financial stake given her husband’s investment, leaving some to question the credulity of her paid statements.) Now, if GLP-1 use were to be considered a performance-enhancing medication, it might be for fat loss. However, studies have shown that GLP-1 patients experience muscle loss. Obviously. Which would, if anything, sound like it would detract from an athlete’s performance. Ultimately, this discussion sort of misses the point, doesn’t it? First of all, politics can play a bigger role in what is and is not banned from competitions. Marijuana could not reasonably enhance anyone’s athletic performance, yet it is generally banned for athletes. Trans women on estrogen may be banned, even though their HRT would, if anything, reduce their athletic performance. Meanwhile, cis women with higher levels of testosterone could also be banned, simply for being themselves. Medicalized starvation — which, ultimately, is what GLP-1 medication does — probably doesn’t give an athlete an edge on the field. But athletes are maybe the last people who should be promoting this as a “healthy” option for those who do not medically need it, such as diabetes patients. And in a development that few saw coming, Taylor and Kylie briefly embraced one another during the post-game celebration. Social media users were quick to make note of the somewhat surprising interaction. She recalls the question that her mother asked. And she shares the chilling answer that Godejohn said before Dee Dee’s death. (Image Credit: YouTube) ‘I am death’ On the Tuesday, June 9 episode of Paul C Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast, Blanchard detailed the night that saved her life — but also doomed her to prison. “I heard screaming,” she recalled. “It was a horrible sound.” Blanchard elaborated: “It was screaming. It was shock.” Thinking back, she described: “I almost think I heard ‘Who are you?’ was asked.” That would be by her dead mom, Dee Dee. “And he responded, ‘I am death,’” Blanchard narrated. “So I do know that was probably what I heard.” Blanchard hid in the bathroom while Nicholas Godejohn, her boyfriend at the time, killed her mother on June 10, 2015. Dee Dee apparently called out her daughter’s name during the murder. “I felt like I wanted to go and help her, but I was terrified at the same time,” Blanchard admitted. “Like my body was paralyzed. We can acknowledge that, were Dee Dee still alive, she might still be drugging her daughter and pretending that she is severely handicapped. She might have even inflicted worse surgeries upon her. At the same time, we can understand the conflicted feelings that Blanchard experienced at the time. This was her mother’s death. Anthony was sentenced to 35 years behind bars, and he is now in protective custody at the Collins County Jail outside of Dallas. The verdict and sentence have become sources of intense online controversy, with both sides of the debate offering heated arguments. The page was initially set up to cover Anthony’s bail (he was eventually permitted to live at home during his trial), but it has received thousands in donations in the wake of his conviction. The page is currently suspended pending review. Protesters outside of the courthouse made their feelings known, with many bemoaning the fact that there were no Black jurors on the case. She said that he also smeared her makeup over her face and stuffed his fingers as far down her throat as possible. Jenn recalled feeling “so suffocated” in these moments and understandably “scared.” When she and the other models were being photographed before, it felt like there was collaboration on the set. When Ye arrived, on the other hand, it felt like he was calling all of the shots — and allegedly felt that he could do whatever he wanted. Reading Time: 3 minutes Is everything okay? Jessa Duggar shared a handwritten letter, allegedly from her almost-11-year-old son. There are multiple oddities about it, including that the writing level appears to belong to someone much younger. Is it just a really old letter? Or is Jessa’s homeschooling failing her children even worse than fans thought? Pregnant Jessa Duggar addressed various fan questions. (Image Credit: YouTube) Does this look right to anyone? Earlier this month, Jessa shared a series of Instagram photos that she had snapped during the month of May. One pic featured all six of her children together. Another showed husband Ben Seewald with a variety of ice cream in his cart during a shopping trip to Walmart. However, one item — easily overlooked by someone just looking for pics of her and her family — stood out from the others. It was a letter, written in marker, allegedly from Spurgeon, her 10-year-old son. (He turns 11 this autumn!) The seventh image features a once-folded note that includes what appear to be multiple pixelated flower stickers. “Dear Jessa,” the words in pink marker begin. “Dear Jessa, Thank you for taking care of me.” The letter adds: “Also thank you for doing homeschool. I know it’s hard for you.” As if distracting himself, he apparently wrote: “Also your sourdough bread is so good. We should make it again sometime.” Adorably, his letter concludes: “I wish I could buy you flowers. Love, Spurgeon.” What’s wrong with this picture? Possibly, so much. People on Reddit and beyond have expressed their shock and concern over this letter, so let’s break it down. First up, it’s odd to read a member of the infamous Duggar clan refer to his mother by her name. Some families do that. But overall, the Duggars and Seewalds seem more like those creepy families where people unironically call their parents “ma’am” and “sir” as if it were normal. Him thanking her for taking care of him is normal for a child. It’s not necessary, because parents have a duty to take care of their children, but it’s a precious sentiment and very normal. Spurgeon thanking Jessa for homeschooling him instead of allowing him to get a real education is more sad than anything else. Like his mother and most of his extended family, he has no idea what he’s being deprived of. There is no date on the paper. It is possible that this is a letter from, say, 3-4 years ago, when the letter would be more developmentally appropriate. If Spurgeon were attending an actual school — where he’d get to socialize with peers, be taught by professionals, and learn about the world — he’d very likely be a rising fifth grader. By this age, most children are developmentally able to print neatly (or write in cursive if someone makes them, for some reason), writing elaborate stories containing original ideas. Perhaps this is a Mother’s Day card. Perhaps this is an old letter-writing practice from when he was 6 or 7, in which case the large and uneasy printing of letters makes sense. If Jessa wants to reassure fans that she’s qualified to teach her children (she is not), she could show a more recent writing project from her 10-and-a-half-year-old. If you’ve been following the reunion, you already know the Amanda-West romance has detonated multiple friendships within the cast. Ciara famously blasted Amanda over the relationship, accusing her former friend of betrayal and rejecting a tearful apology during the reunion. As for West, he has spent much of the reunion attempting to explain his actions while facing criticism from nearly every direction, especially from Lindsay. During a recent 911 call, Amanda Conner begged police to help her safely get her belongings out of the house before Ryan Edwards could destroy them — as he is known to do. She also revealed that she is divorcing him. Amanda detailed the alleged abuse that she has received at his hands during their marriage. She explained to the operator that she feared Ryan because of his anger when she told him that their relationship was over — and because he has allegedly been “very abusive” in the past. Amanda told authorities that the marriage was over, that she and Ryan are divorcing, and that she needed help to retrieve her things. “I’m just requesting an officer to be here so I can get the things out of my house,” Amanda explained in the recording. “Me and my husband are in the middle of a divorce,” she continued. “And he’s been abusive in the past and I just don’t feel comfortable. …” “I have pictures of me with black eyes,” Amanda told police, before appearing to tell them that she has photos featuring a “busted nose.” She explained: “I never reported it to the police because I just didn’t want him to go to jail that day.” Amanda continued: “But, yes, I have evidence of him being very abusive. That’s what he does.” She also described her fears about retrieving her belongings: “I’ll go in to get [my stuff] and he tricks me and I get stuck in there.” Amanda detailed that she was in the car outside of her home, “scared to go in” without an escort. Anyone who has had to be hypersensitive to the moods of a man in their household for their own safety and that of others can understand what she means. “So I grabbed my purse and went to the car,” Amanda continued. She expressed a fear that Ryan “is probably in there destroying my s–t so if they could hurry, that would be nice.” None of this comes as any surprise to Teen Mom fans who have followed Ryan and those women unfortunate enough to end up with him. Over the weekend, demonstrators gathered outside the Turning Point USA Women’s Leadership Summit in San Antonio, Texas, where a protester dressed as Charlie and appeared to re-enact the late pundit’s assassination. The event was being led by Charlie’s widow, Erika Kirk, who took over as CEO of the organization following her husband’s death last year. According to The New York Post, protesters nearby could also be heard chanting, “He deserved to die.” That claim remains uncorroborated. The incident occurred less than a year after Charlie was fatally shot. His death shocked supporters and opponents alike and sparked a national conversation about political violence in America. Erika has become a controversial figure in the months since, and it seems the re-enactment of Charlie;s death was not the only pushback she received in San Antonio. According to the Post, a heckler interrupted her remarks inside the venue, repeatedly shouting accusations before being escorted out. Rather than engage in a heated exchange, Erika reportedly took the incident in stride. “It’s important to remember that happiness comes and goes, and I pray that you find it,” she said before continuing her speech. She later encouraged attendees to pray for those who oppose them, describing the confrontation as an example of people searching for meaning in the wrong places. The summit proceeded despite heightened security concerns. Earlier in the week, authorities arrested a 26-year-old man accused of making threats against Erika, and organizers had also dealt with a reported bomb threat leading up to the event. Anthony’s trial took a shocking turn Tuesday when the teenager’s attorney appeared to place responsibility for the fatal confrontation on Austin Metcalf himself. Anthony, 19, has pleaded not guilty and maintains that he acted in self-defense. But during closing arguments, defense attorney Mike Howard delivered a claim that left many observers stunned. According to NBC News, Howard argued that Metcalf “had no legal right to use force” to remove Anthony from a team tent belonging to another school. Howard contended that while Metcalf could ask Anthony to leave, he was not legally permitted to physically eject him. The attorney then doubled down on the defense’s self-defense theory, arguing that Anthony had an “absolute right” to protect himself as he believed he was being subjected to lethal force. Not surprisingly, the argument did not appear to sit well with supporters of the Metcalf family who were present in the courtroom. One observer reportedly reacted with visible disbelief as Howard laid out the defense’s version of events. Prosecutors, meanwhile, have painted a very different picture throughout the trial. They argue that Anthony escalated what should have been a minor dispute and responded with deadly force during a confrontation that never justified a fatal stabbing. Witness testimony presented during the trial has also challenged Anthony’s claim that he was acting in self-defense. The case stems from a confrontation that took place in Frisco, Texas, where Metcalf allegedly asked Anthony to leave a team tent occupied by students from another school. The disagreement quickly escalated, ending with Metcalf suffering a fatal stab wound. Anthony faces a first-degree murder charge and could receive a life sentence if convicted. Jurors have also been instructed that they may consider a lesser manslaughter charge. For one thing, the logistics of safely transporting the most controversial person on the planet to a packed arena in the center of Midtown Manhattan were said to be downright nightmarish. And to top it all off, after a historic winning streak that lasted more than a month, the hometown New York Knicks lost a hard-fought battle to the visiting San Antonio Spurs. Needless to say, after all of that, Knicks fans would probably rather see Trump skip the rest of the series. But they might be out of luck on that score. The Daily Mail consulted a lip reader who interpreted Trump’s luxury box conversation with Knicks owner James Dolan. And it seems that Air Force One will be making a return trip to JFK ahead of Wednesday’s Game Four. “’Oh that’s not it. Let me bring him next time, you have got it so wrong with him. I can bring him back to you, with confidence. I’m not just saying that, unless you want to put the feeler out,” Trump reportedly said about an unknown associate, adding: “If you want me to come to the game on Wednesday, then he’s gotta be here. “You gotta remember, I gotta pull with this. Maybe I could do the trophy, the trophy. This should be gold, don’t say no today. I’ll bet you a round of golf.” So it sounds like — or maybe looks like, since we’re relying on a lip-reader — Trump plans to attend Game 4 on Wednesday. It seems that he was angling to present the championship trophy in the event that the Knicks had swept the series — a prospect about which Dolan was understandably skittish. The Spurs’ victory may have rendered that a moot point, anyway. Game 5 will be played in San Antonio, and given how dominant the Knicks have been on the road these playoffs, they may well secure the championship in Texas. Trump seems to have no plans to make that trip. And even if the series heads back to New York, Dolan still might not have to worry about saying no to Trump. As TMZ notes, the president was spotted sleeping at last night’s game, so it’s possible that he’s losing interest in the Finals already.
