Reading Time: 2 minutes We have tragic news to report from the world of sports today: TNA Wrestling and All Japan Pro Wrestling icon Joe Doering has passed away at the age of 44 after a lengthy battle with brain cancer. News of his death comes courtesy of a statement from Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling: “At 9:13 AM today, June 26, our brother Joe Doering passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family,” the organization wrote in a statement (via TMZ). “Though his time on this earth lasted only 44 years, Joe packed a thousand years’ worth of living into every one of them.” The statement concluded by honoring the wrestler’s legacy. “Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Lindsay, his family, and leaves behind countless friends and devoted fans around the world who will forever remember his strength, courage, and spirit.” Doering was first diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2016 and underwent surgery to remove the mass. Despite the diagnosis, he continued wrestling at a high level, becoming one of the most respected big men in the business during his time with All Japan Pro Wrestling. Late last year, his family revealed he had been diagnosed with a third brain tumor. Earlier this week, loved ones shared the heartbreaking news that he had entered hospice care as his condition worsened. Standing 6-foot-8, Doering built an impressive career after making his professional debut in 2004. He briefly competed in WWE’s developmental system under the ring name Drake Brewer before finding his greatest success in Japan, where he became a two-time Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion in All Japan Pro Wrestling. American fans also remember his run in TNA Wrestling as a member of the Violent By Design faction alongside Eric Young, Deaner and Rhino. During his time with the promotion, Doering captured the Impact World Tag Team Championship and established himself as one of the company’s most intimidating competitors. The social media personality, known online as J’Amore or Mr. Jay, revealed this week that his 2-year-old daughter, Sadé Rose Morton, died after drowning in the family’s backyard swimming pool on Father’s Day. According to a fundraiser shared following the tragedy, Morton and his wife, Jessica, said they plan to move because the home has become too painful to remain in. “We have to move away because we can’t live in that house anymore, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to work anytime soon,” Morton wrote while asking supporters for help with funeral and relocation expenses. While King Charles is reportedly eager to reconnect with his youngest son and finally spend time with Archie and Lilibet, the ongoing rift between Prince Harry and Prince William continues to cast a long shadow over the royal family. Royal commentator Amanda Matta tells Page Six that although a reunion between the cousins would be “lovely,” there are simply too many obstacles standing in the way. “There are all sorts of logistical reasons why it wouldn’t happen,” she explained, noting that William and Princess Kate maintain a busy schedule with both royal duties and family life. Royal editor Emily Nash echoed those sentiments, saying that while it would be wonderful for the children to know one another, the fractured relationship between their parents remains the biggest hurdle. “The cousins should absolutely know each other,” Nash said. “But before that can happen, Harry and William need to repair their own relationship.” Despite the continued tension between the brothers, King Charles appears determined to move the reconciliation process forward. The fantasy romance takes the two sword fighting, dragonslaying, and marrying before exchanging a kiss. To be clear, this is a music video — this is an acting role for Alix. Though, in cases like Sam Asghari or Chrishell Stause, sometimes getting cast is just the first step towards a long-term relationship. Whatever you may think of Boone — or Earle, for that matter — it’s an adventurous video that you don’t see so much anymore. The fantasy vibes are great. Specifically, parts of it have a sword & sorcery energy, a fun sub genre that is increasingly scarce in a world where businessbrained prudes run most entertainment companies. After all, doing the choreography to Britney’s greatest hits was an unwitting right of passage for millions of gay Millennials — sometimes, before they knew that they were gay. However, we have to emphasize that queerbaiting is a specific term with a specific meaning. A singer adopting specific looks or doing specific dances might prompt some to assume his sexuality, but that’s not what that means. Queerbaiting very specifically refers to a piece of media winking and nudging at viewers that a couple will get together, while knowing full well that — due to censorship or the showrunner’s preference — they will not. Others have accused Boone of being a closeted man who is straightbaiting with Earle. Though Will & Grace was arguably a genuine case of straightbaiting (the show was pitched as a will-they-or-won’t-they, even though obviously they would not), that’s not really a thing either. Reading Time: 2 minutes This has been a deeply cursed few weeks for Love Island USA. A producer died. A woman was removed from the villa for racism. Now, after new evidence surfaced, another slur-spewing contestant is gone. Alannah Keyser was booted from Love Island USA. How did all of this slip past production? Thursday night’s episode was her final appearance. This news comes in the wake of a resurfaced video of her saying the literal worst slur, the N-word. The video was not the first sign of it. An Instagram comment, seemingly by Keyser, appeared to use the slur. Some often wonder how things like this seem to avoid detection during the casting process. How many good, decent people were passed over to allow someone with a public history of racism to continue? Well, production says that the video and social media posts were not publicly available. According to them, they only resurfaced after Keyser was cast on the show. That does make sense. Someone who isn’t a public figure suddenly being seen by millions is going to have people going “wait, didn’t she do that awful thing back then?” This can be either with good intentions or for clout. Why does this keep happening? This exact same thing happened just weeks ago. Earlier in Season 8, production removed Vasana Montgomery from the Love Island USA villa. This, too, was because of resurfaced videos that appeared to show he singing the N-word in one, yelling the N-word in another. In both cases, production protested that the footage was not publicly accessible to them during the vetting process. Again, widespread public scrutiny tends to be what allows shameful past actions to resurface. Sometimes, social media posts simply did not age well. Certainly, the prevalent humor of 2006 on forums and on nascent Facebook would not translate well in 2026. But no one accused Keyser of Montgomery of posting, like, “ironic” racism or “joke” body-shaming, which would merit an apology but likely not result in firing. People have used both forms of humor, using the term loosely, to highlight the grim realities of racism, sexism, and more in our society. It’s just that, with social media, people now usually do so more tastefully. Both of these fallen reality TV personalities used the worst slur to exist in language. It’s unclear why someone would wish to do so. This isn’t a Love Island USA problem. This is a societal problem. We live in a society where people might spew slurs and continue to have friends and then expect to go on reality television without consequence. That should not be the case. A former personal chef alleges that her demanding and dangerous workload caused a miscarriage. She says that she was underpaid, wrongfully terminated, and falsely accused of wrongdoing for her troubles. (Photo Credit: Theo Wargo/FilmMagic) A third lawsuit has hit the makeup mogul On Monday, June 22, a former personal chef — whose name remains undisclosed — filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior County. In the documents, she alleges that she worked 11-to-12-hour shifts five days a week, including physically demanding tasks that may sound to many to be well outside the expectations of a personal chef. According the Los Angeles Times, the woman says that she began working for Kylie in November of 2024. One month later, she informed her supervisors — who are named as co-defendants in the lawsuit — that she was pregnant. She told them that she “required reasonable accommodations to protect her health and pregnancy.” On New Year’s Eve 2024, when she was about 4 months pregnant, supervisors allegedly demanded that she “lift and transport heavy food items across the street and uphill without assistance.” The lawsuit says that she “became dizzy, began choking and gasping for air, and required assistance from security personnel, who intervened by providing water and aid.” The following February, for Stormi’s birthday, she says that she was forced to work the Palm Springs event, but did not receive “adequate support.” She describes being ignored by managers. “Due to exhaustion and overwhelming physical strain, [she] broke down emotionally in the bathroom during the event,” the lawsuit reads. “That evening, [she] experienced extreme physical exhaustion and heaviness throughout her body as a result of the prolonged and intense workload,” the documents continue. At a nearby hospital, the lawsuit reads, she was “informed that there was no detectable heartbeat and that she had lost her unborn child.” According to the filing, the woman informed her bosses of the miscarriage. Days later, she was allegedly “falsely accused of leaving the kitchen and refrigerator in disarray following the Palm Springs event.” In addition to further hemorrhaging, she developed severe depression and emotional distress. But the documents say that her supervisors were less than sympathetic. “Stop it, just stop it,” managers allegedly told the woman. “You are upsetting Kylie. You are making her depressed.” (It is unclear if the manager was conveying Kylie’s wishes. As with other lawsuits, it seems conceivable that Kylie’s attorneys may argue that managers acted without her knowledge.) The former personal chef is seeking damages in an unspecified quantity. In addition to the pregnancy discrimination, accommodation failures, and harassment, she argues that she was misclassified as an independent contractor, not paid on time or in proportion to hours worked. And she says that she was wrongfully terminated. That all sounds awful. It will be enlightening to see how — and if — Kylie responds. In fact, his name has become almost synonymous with scandal in the years since the “Scandoval” rocked the Bravo community. But while fans and critics have come to expect unstable behavior from Sandoval, footage of the restaurateur allegedly shoving his ex-girlfriend’s father into a lit firepit is no less shocking. Security cam footage shows Sandoval arguing with Will and Victoria, who were living with him at the time. He seems to become even more upset upon realizing that Victoria is recording the argument on her phone. When Sandoval seemingly tries to grab the phone from Victoria’s hand, Will intervenes by grabbing Sandoval around the waist, leading Sandoval to the shove that causes Will to stumble into the fire. The trio then rushes inside, where the verbal altercation continues. Tom called the cops on June 3, alleging that Victoria struck him and Will threatened him and punched a hole in a door. Sandoval was granted a temporary restraining order, and a judge has ordered both Robinsons to move out of the house. The temporary orders reportedly require Victoria and her father to remove only their essential personal belongings before vacating the residence. They have also been ordered to remain at least 100 yards away from Sandoval, his home, his workplace and his vehicle. The orders further prohibit either of them from possessing firearms while the restraining orders remain in effect. A hearing is scheduled for July 16, when a judge will determine whether longer-term protection is warranted. The former Vanderpump star — who has since gone on to appear in shows like the aptly named House of Villains — has not yet publicly commented on the situation. Sandoval reached new levels of infamy in 2023, when the world learned that he had cheated on Ariana Madix with her longtime friend Raquel Leviss. David Clayton-Thomas, the lead singer of Blood, Sweat & Tears and the songwriter behind the classic hit “Spinning Wheel,” has died. He was 84 years old. No cause of death has been announced. Clayton-Thomas was the voice of Blood, Sweat & Tears during the band’s most successful era, helping transform the jazz-rock group into one of the biggest acts of the late ’60s and early ’70s. His powerful vocals were featured on enduring hits such as “Spinning Wheel,” “And When I Die,” and “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy.” Born David Henry Thomsett in England in 1941, Clayton-Thomas moved to Canada as a child. His early life was marked by hardship. According to multiple accounts, he left home as a teenager and spent years struggling with homelessness and legal troubles before discovering music and teaching himself to play guitar. That unlikely path eventually led him to New York, where an encounter with singer-songwriter Judy Collins helped change the course of his career. Soon afterward, he joined Blood, Sweat & Tears, stepping into a band that was searching for a new identity. The chemistry was immediate. The group’s self-titled 1968 album became a massive success, selling millions of copies and earning five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. Remarkably, it beat The Beatles’ “Abbey Road” for the top Grammy honor. Clayton-Thomas also wrote “Spinning Wheel,” which became the band’s signature song and remains one of the defining tracks of the era. After all, Madison Square Garden is not typically a wedding venue, and getting married in Midtown Manhattan on one of the biggest tourism weekends of the year sounds like a logistical nightmare. Permits viewed by the New York Times indicate that Taylor and Travis are expecting between 500 and 599 guests. So who will fill those rows and rows of empty stands? The situation has sparked some interesting conversations, including one that’s currently taking place in the comments section of a Celebitchy article about the wedding: “Is she filming this or something? Either way, this sounds tacky as hell. I’ll be looking out for which famous people did not show up for this spectacle,” one reader wrote. “I just don’t get it. I figured she’d gather her guests and fly them to some remote fancy resort she bought out in its entirety for the weekend. Very interested to see how this turns out. Because it all seems so odd,” another chimed. He’s accused of a series of tantrums culminating in trashing the room of a resort, to the tune of thousands of dollars. He allegedly burned members of his own band — on purpose. (Photo Credit: Terry Wyatt/WireImage) The affidavit shows a clear downward spiral of bad behavior Fox News obtained a police affidavit that chronicles what appears to be a spiral of bad behavior on the part of Zimmerman. At the Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque, the country singer began his day by playing a round of golf. Arguably a red flag, but nothing criminal — yet. Things escalated quickly in the early afternoon, as the affidavit describes that “Mr. Zimmerman was intentionally burning other members of the band with the cigarette” at around 3 PM that afternoon. For what it’s worth, the other band members did not appear to mind, according to the report. Soon after, the report details: “Sandia security advised that Mr. Zimmerman appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was very angry with his band and manager.” After soundcheck, as it was nearing 5 PM, Zimmerman allegedly “threw a water bottle behind him down the stairs. He drank from another bottle and then spit toward a Sandia security officer standing nearby.” That’s appalling. It doesn’t end there. “Mr. Zimmerman complained about having a white SUV instead of a black SUV and initially refused to get in,” the affidavit reports. “He eventually entered the white SUV.” Toddler behavior makes sense from toddlers. It does not from adults. Back at the hotel, Zimmerman allegedly stumbled out of the SUV, attempted to enter through the wrong door, and even lost a shoe as his companions tried to help him inside. The story only gets worse Inside, Zimmerman allegedly had blood visible on one knee while staggering through the hotel. The affidavit reports him as almost collapsing onto the floor multiple times during the effort to return to his suite. As a result of all of this, he went on to cancel his concert, claiming that he had “not been feeling well.” Which sounds pretty true! But, when he canceled the concert, the resort staff had had enough. They gave him a deadline to leave. “He refused to leave in the vehicles provided by Sandia to transport him to the airport,” the affidavit reads. “Mr. Zimmerman became disorderly, and Sandia Police were contacted.” Eventually, he left — escorted off by police. However, Sandia Police soon returned to the hotel to assess a litany of damages that staff found in Zimmerman’s hotel room. A damaged television, a broken phone, a damaged coffee table, two chairs damaged, two chairs missing, damage to multiple walls — all of this tallied up by workers and police. The total estimated damages are around $16,000. On top of that, Zimmerman reportedly charged $400 in alcohol to the room, but skipped out on paying. He’s facing a felony charge of criminal damage to property and a misdemeanor charge of falsely obtaining services. A judge issued a warrant for his arrest, including a “no bond hold.” Among other things, he had to pay full restitution Zimmerman has issued a public apology through his attorney, saying that he’s taking the case seriously. Yeah, he’d have to. All charges have since been dismissed. Among other things, he reportedly paid full restitution to the resort in order to make the charges go away. Ultimately, it’s likely that the resort simply wanted him to pay for the damages. But, on a broader societal level, this does feel like anything’s legal if you have the money to “make it right” later. The verdict was a controversial one, with defenders of Anthony — who is Black — claiming that he was the victim of a racist criminal justice system. (Collin County) As TMZ reports, TikTok creators have been posting videos in which they dance to a rap song called “Austin Bop.” The dance seems to consist of a stabbing motion, and according to one news report, the song used includes lyrics “about Metcalf’s death.” The TMZ report confirms that the song used in the video “includes lyrics referencing the stabbing and Metcalf’s death. The outlet reports that there is a second version of the song that “takes aim at Austin’s twin brother, Hunter Metcalf, who was with him in the aftermath of the attack.” The trend has left the social media world sharply divided, with many attacking it as monstrously cruel and others defending it on the grounds of free speech rights. “If y’all can laugh about calling Michelle Obama a man, we can laugh about this,” one user commented on a video exploring the trend. Others insisted that this is a case of the media attempting to create controversy for clicks: “It has nothing to do with Austin,” wrote one commenter. Anthony has been sentenced to 35 years in prison in connection with Metcalf’s stabbing death. Meanwhile, the victim’s father, Jeff Metcalf, has created a social media controversy of his own with a video in which he bashed the entire Anthony family, at one point referring to Anthony as a “watermelon felon.” The racist video rightly sparked outrage, but the Metcalf family still has a large group of supporters, including Rep. She stands accused of threatening to kill her ex-husband, Deon Derrico. Additionally, Karen allegedly threatened to do the same to any of the children who might side with him. Yikes. The exes finalized their divorce in June 2024, just under 20 years since they married. They share legal and physical custody of their minor children (having welcomed 14 total). At first, they continued to live together out of convenience. However, it’s reported that Karen moved out earlier this year — with things getting worse every since. Karen is charged with violating a temporary order for protection against domestic violence on June 17. Allegedly, she did this by “sending emails unrelated to parenting matters” to Deon. This violates an order from family court, one that dates back to April. Karen is accused of “willfully, unlawfully, and knowingly” threatening to cause bodily injury to Deon. This email reportedly caused him to possess “reasonable fear that the threat will be carried out.” She also allegedly attempted to interfere with him attending court, by way of further violent threats. ‘I’ll kill any of my kids if they take your side’ “I want you dead,” the alleged email read, according to the criminal complaint. ”I could kill you and it won’t even bother me to go to jail and I’ll kill any of my kids if they take your side.” On May 2, she allegedly wrote “telling him to watch out, that she is getting a gun and/or will have someone kill him before he can go to court.” Allegedly, Karen wrote in an email that “killing him would be easy.” Another sentence allegedly threatened that she “will see to it that he dies a slow death.” Those are some serious threats. But did Karen actually write them? It is important for us to emphasize that Karen has pleaded not guilty. She says that she would never threaten to harm her children. Her attorney, Jess Marchese, told TMZ that they believe that Deon wrote the emails to himself in order to frame her. The defense says that they were working with tech experts to prove it. Karen is out on $2,000 bond and wearing an ankle monitor. We hope that investigators can get to the bottom of this matter. The arrest came just days after her court date for a previous crash, and police claimed that Mathers’ BAC was three times the legal limit. So her situation wasn’t great to begin with, and now Kim’s legal troubles have taken another serious turn. Kim was expected to appear before Judge William H. Hackel III in Macomb County District Court. When she did not show up, the court reportedly issued a warrant for her arrest and set bond at $10,000. Authorities confirmed that she had not been taken into custody as of Wednesday afternoon. The missed hearing stems from Kim’s arrest last month, which could have been a much worse situation, judging from the police report. Officers say Mathers was taken into custody after allegedly striking another vehicle while driving near Detroit. No injuries were reported in the incident, and she was later released from custody. The arrest came just days after Scott appeared in court regarding a separate impaired-driving case tied to a February crash. In that incident, she allegedly hit a parked vehicle and later crashed into her own garage door after leaving the scene. She ultimately pleaded no contest to impaired driving and failure to report an accident. Authorities reportedly recovered containers believed to contain alcohol from Mathers’ vehicle during the February investigation, and body-camera footage showed her taking a Breathalyzer test. Mathers has faced legal and substance-abuse struggles over the years, including previous DUI-related incidents. Police say her teenage son and his friends were in the car during the February crash. Of course, Mathers is best known for her tumultuous relationship with Eminem, aka Slim Shady, aka Marshall Mathers. The pair married in 1999 before divorcing in 2001. They reconciled and remarried in 2006, but that marriage lasted only a few months before ending in divorce as well. Kim and Em share daughter Hailie Jade, while the rapper also helped raise two of Kim’s sister’s children. This marks the first time that a child so young took part in the nation’s state-sanctioned assisted suicide program. Authorities have not disclosed the child’s age, identity, gender, or medical condition. The development marks a historic and highly controversial milestone in the Netherlands, which has some of the world’s most expansive euthanasia laws. The nation became the first in the world to legalize voluntary euthanasia in 2002. For years, the law applied to adults and certain minors aged 12 and older. In 2024, however, Dutch officials expanded the regulations to include terminally ill children under the age of 12 who are suffering unbearably and have no prospect of recovery. Under the current rules, doctors and parents must jointly determine that there are no reasonable alternatives to relieve the child’s suffering. Officials say the child is involved in the decision-making process whenever possible. “This decision is always made in consultation with the parents and, if possible, also with the child,” the government website states, according to People. At the time the law was introduced, government officials estimated that between five and 10 children each year might qualify under the new criteria. James’ demand for alcohol testing for Ricci was denied by the court. Additionally, Freddie’s attorney cautioned that “there is a real threat that public access to the statements and records may jeopardize the stability of Freddie’s mental health.” What happened? This sounds like legal speak for a pretty common incident that does not normally make its way into legal filings. An 11-year-old on a flight with his mom could, hypothetically, find her behavior a little annoying, especially if she drinks on a flight rather than rawdog the experience. Like many children of divorce, he might be in close contact with both parents, and complain about it to his dad. Hypothetically, a father with a legal history of outrageous behavior who has been accused of physical and emotional abuse might try to seize this as an opportunity to wrest custody away from his ex-wife. Upon realizing that his offhand comments, which almost any tween might make without the life experience to understand how his words might be used, one such 11-year-old might hastily inform the court that things are fine. In July of 2020, Ricci filed to divorce Heerdegen. She accused him of “severe physical and emotional abuse” during their marriage. In her divorce filing, she also alleged that “many of these acts of abuse” took place in front of their son, Freddie. Freddie was only 5 years old at the time of his parents’ divorce filing. And that means reminding the peasants that in many ways, he’s just like them: He puts his pants on one leg at a time, he only gets along with half his kids, and he even pays taxes. Of course, Charles is the ultimate nepo baby, and his lifestyle is also funded by UK taxpayers, so the situation is slightly different. The disclosure is expected to shed new light on questions many royal watchers have long wondered about: How rich is this guy, and how exactly does he make his money? One of the king’s primary sources of income is the Duchy of Lancaster, a vast portfolio of land, property and investments that provides income to the reigning monarch. According to Newsweek, the estate generated roughly £24 million in annual revenue last year, making it one of Charles’ most significant sources of personal wealth. The income from the duchy is paid directly to the monarch and helps cover both official royal expenses and certain private costs. Charles also derives income from privately owned royal properties, including the famed Sandringham Estate and Balmoral Castle. Unlike many royal residences, these properties are privately owned by the monarch rather than held in trust for the Crown, allowing the king to benefit from revenue generated by the estates. In addition, Charles maintains personal investments and inherited wealth that contribute to his overall financial picture. The royal family also receives public funding through the Sovereign Grant, which supports official duties, staffing, travel, and the maintenance of royal residences. That funding is separate from Charles’ personal income and is derived from profits generated by the Crown Estate. The arrangement has long sparked debate in the United Kingdom, with critics questioning the cost of the monarchy and supporters arguing that the institution provides significant cultural and economic value. Even though anonymous tips to unmarked graves appear to be dead ends, hope may be on the horizon. Authorities may be zeroing in on the unidentified figure who haunts Nancy’s porch camera footage. Donald Trump is also weighing in, expressing something akin to sympathy for the Guthrie family. Former FBI agent Maureen O’Connell spoke to Megyn Kelly on her eponymous web show about where she believes that the investigation into Nancy’s disappearance stands. In her judgment, she is “75 percent” confident that authorities are “getting close to” the one individual who we know was involved in the kidnapping. That individual is, as her phrases it, “porch guy.” Hopefully, she says, once he is in custody, it will be like the first pebble in an avalanche. O’Connell predicts that the “floodgates shall swing open” and authorities will learn about alleged co-conspirators and the location of Nancy’s remains. “Things are happening,” O’Connell cryptically added without evidence, more than five months after the kidnapping. Porch guy refers to the haunting images from Nancy’s home security, released by the FBI, showing an unidentified individual. The makes and armed intruder appeared to tamper with the doorbell camera. Savannah has spoken about how bone-chilling that brief footage was for her to review, as she imagined what her mother must have awoken to in the middle of the night. Though it’s possible that one kidnapper worked alone to abduct an 84-year-old grandmother, there is speculation by some investigators that this was the work of a team of malefactors, or even organized crime. ‘I hope they find her’ On Tuesday, June 23, Donald Trump took a brief break from spouting unhinged theories about algae sabotage to address Nancy’s disappearance. “I hope they find her,” he expressed during the clip. “I mean, Savannah’s gone through a rough,” Trump began before continuing: “That family’s gone through hell.” He repeated: “I hope they find her.” Trump is very television-oriented. It is likely that he has seen extensive coverage of Nancy’s kidnapping by watching the news. Now is, unfortunately, perhaps the most convenient time in recent decades for kidnappers to potentially get away with their crimes. Kash Patel is the head of the FBI, even if he is accused of largely misusing official trips to entertain himself and his girlfriend. Vast amounts of government resources have been diverted from normal tasks that protect America to either terrorizing American communities through ICE or concocting attacks against Trump’s enemies and critics. O’Connell certainly knows about how the FBI normally operates. But she may be basing her experiences upon her own time at the Bureau, and not upon how things are running in 2026. Savannah and her family deserve closure. Nancy deserves to be laid to rest. It’s just difficult to believe that hope is realistic at this time. While on the stage, she told the audience an anecdote about Houston’s September 2009 appearance on her eponymous talk show. This was, of course, the singer’s final time as her guest on the program. According to Oprah, the singer had recently relapsed. She described Houston as being so high at the time that she had fallen from the stage. At time time, Oprah says that she begged the audience to not share photos or any word of the fall. And it appears that fans honored her request. We have to note that it is possible to simply fall from a stage. It happens. Stages can be dangerous, which is why the “ghost light” is a key part of theater tradition. That said, sometimes people relapse without their family knowing. We don’t know what Oprah witnessed, or believed that she witnessed, that day. In court documents obtained by People, Jean alleges that White’s conduct made continued cohabitation “unsafe and improper,” though no additional details regarding the accusation have been made public. Neither White nor Jean has commented publicly on the split. The breakup is particularly surprising given that the couple frequently gushed about one another during their three years of marriage. Fans may recall that White proposed to Jean during a concert in Detroit in 2022 before marrying her on stage later that same evening. The impromptu ceremony took place in front of a hometown crowd at the Masonic Temple, with family and friends in attendance. At the time, both musicians spoke glowingly about the experience. Jean later described the surprise proposal and wedding as the “best experience” of her life, while White spoke affectionately about his wife in interviews and social media posts. According to the divorce filing, Jean claims she is financially dependent on White and is requesting alimony. She is also asking that White continue covering her health insurance and that she remain the beneficiary of his life insurance policy. The filing lists June 3 as both the date the divorce petition was submitted and the couple’s date of separation. This will be White’s third divorce. The musician was previously married to his White Stripes bandmate, Meg White, from 1996 to 2000. He later married model and singer Karen Elson in 2005. He was being sued for sexual assault, and never responded to any summons — or even to an LA Times ad. Jermaine claims that he had no knowledge of the lawsuit, that he wants to defend himself, and that news about it spoiled son Jaafar Jackson’s film promotion. (Photo Credit: Julian Hamilton/FilmMagic) He claims to have had no knowledge of the lawsuit TMZ reports that Jermaine’s new legal filing claims that he had no idea that Rita Butler Barrett was suing him for sexual assault. Remember, in addition to numerous efforts to serve him, the court authorized a Los Angeles Times ad to serve to notify him of the lawsuit. Jermaine never responded, and Barrett received a default judgment of $6.5 million back in May. He says that he was blindsided during the press tour for his son’s quasi-biopic, Michael. Now, he’s hoping to get the default judgment tossed out. In his filing, Jermaine complains that press coverage of the default judgment ruined “what should have been a proud and important professional moment for my son and our family.” He went on to claim that he felt “shocked and deeply concerned about the effect of those reports on my reputation.” Jermaine continued: “And on the promotion of my son’s motion picture.” His reputation notwithstanding, it’s hard to say that anything about the allegations against Jermaine damaged the film’s promotion. Surely, anyone willing to attend Michael despite the subject matter — or how it avoids the subject matter — wasn’t going to be troubled by the lead actor’s father facing an allegation. Did the scandal really interfere with the success of the film? As we previously reported, Barrett alleges that Jermaine sexually assaulted her in 1988. According to her lawsuit, he showed up at her home uninvited and then raped her before abruptly leaving. Sometimes, money is the best justice that one can hope to get in America. Especially if it means courtroom vindication. However, Barrett never got the chance to voice her claims in court because Jermaine never responded. Initially, some wondered if Jermaine hoped that not responding would simply handle it as quietly as possible. However, it no longer appears that this was the strategy. Jermaine claims that, despite the numerous attempts to reach him, he had no idea about the suit. He alleges that he wants to defend himself in court, claiming that he never tried to avoid the lawsuit. If the court tosses the $6.5 million default judgment, he is apparently ready to do battle in court. This sounds like a complicated time for Barrett, and arguably for Jermaine, depending upon the judge’s ruling.
