Taraji is a momma to one very handsome son. Meet Marcell Johnson. The Hollywood star welcomed her son, who is almost 30 now, with the late William LaMarr “Mark” Johnson. William was her high school sweetheart who was sadly murdered at the age of 34 in 2003. Marcell and his mom have a great relationship. He has been at her side for many Hollywood events, including her big moment on the Walk of Fame. He also has taken after his mother in choice of career. Furthermore, if one is to take Taraji at her word, it’s unlikely that she’ll ever have another child. Taraji spoke with the Huffington Post around the time her son was heading to college in 2020. She was asked then if there were plans for more kids in her future. She was quick to squash even the thought. “You want to know what my birth control is? It’s called ‘teenager,’” she jokingly said. Of course, if she was pregnant, the real question would be — with who! Though she has been engaged twice, Taraji broke off both relationships and perfectly happy to stay a party of one. “I’m single and happy,” she revealed on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast in January 2024. “I’m not longing (for a relationship) and at this point, I’ve decided I don’t want to be married. For what? I’m not having (more) kids (so) what’s the point? Let’s be life partners. Live and thrive. When Ryan takes over as host in the fall of 2024, he will be joined by Pat’s longstanding co-host and letter turner, Vanna White. It’s been confirmed that Vanna has already extended her contract with Sony Pictures Television for another couple of years, through 2025 specifically. However, that came at a cost for the show as well. Reports suggested everything from Vanna demanding to be paid equal to Ryan to wanting the hosting job outright. There was even talk of Vanna quitting if her salary demands were not met. In the end, though her salary remains a mystery, whatever she was offered convinced her to stay on for the transition. Meanwhile, Ryan has already made strides to find a way to vibe with Vanna before the show starts filming. He invited her to cohost on American Idol’s latest season. “She said she’d watched the show for so many years and I invited her to come and do an introduction of one of the contestants and she did it and it just made me realize how lucky I am to be able to work with her coming up on Wheel,” Seacrest told PEOPLE at the Hulu on Disney+ celebration in Los Angeles on Friday, April 5. Welp. That didn’t last long. Just a few weeks after Amber Portwood got engaged to Gary Wayt, we can now confirm the following: Amber Portwood is no longer engaged to Gary Wayt. Amber Portwood remains a significant player in the Teen Mom universe. (MTV) An insider tells Us Weekly that the veteran Teen Mom star has ended her relationship with her short-term fiance in the wake of Wayt disappearing for several days. “They’ve decided that it’s over between them and their engagement is off,” a source told this tabloid late Tuesday, adding of Amber and Gary: “They have too much to overcome to move forward together.” The anonymous mole said there has “been some closure” for the MTV personality, emphasizing that the former lovers have communicated and Wayt is “not ghosting her.” Amber Portwood has an unusual look on her face in this scene from a Teen Mom episode. (MTV) Not long after the public learned of Portwood’s engagement, we also learned that Amber and Gary got into some kind of argument while attending Amber’s brother’s wedding in North Carolina. I’m trying my best to not think the worst. I have not ate [sic] in three days. Shannen Doherty has an unfortunate message to pass along. The actress updated listeners on the latest edition of her Let’s Be Clear podcast in regard to her ongoing breast cancer battle… telling them the makeup of her cancer cells has changed and progressed. I am having to go back on chemo and it’s really hard, like the idea of going through that all over again has wrecked me,” Doherty said on air, growing understandably emotional. Doherty went on to say she will receive this treatment via a port in her chest, years after admitting to how physically and emotionally draining this type of procedure was back in 2016 when she first had to go through with it. Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 — and underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation shortly afterward. In general, hitting someone in the face is assault. No matter the possible provocation, it’s never nothing. On stage, Chris Rock himself largely kept his composure — largely, at first, out of shock. Will Smith issued apologies. First, to everyone in general (during his Oscar acceptance speech). Then, the next day, he used social media to apologize directly to Chris. He also received a decade-long ban from attending the Academy Awards. Still, some good came from it. How come you didn’t do nothing back? Because I got parents, that’s why. Because I was raised. I got parents, and you know what my parents taught me? Gena Rowlands is living with Alzheimer’s disease. A four-time Emmy winner and two-time Golden Globe winner, Gena is a screen icon beloved by generations of fans. She’s perhaps best known by younger audiences for playing older Allie in the romance film The Notebook. And that’s where this story takes an ironic turn. Nick, who directed his mother in 2004’s The Notebook, said Rowlands is “in full dementia.” The diagnosis is rather surreal, given that Gena played a woman with dementia in the beloved film. She played the older version of Rachel McAdams’ Allie, with James Garner and Ryan Gosling starring as the older and younger version of her love interest, Noah. “I got my mom to play older Allie, and we spent a lot of time talking about Alzheimer’s and wanting to be authentic with it, and now, for the last five years, she’s had Alzheimer’s,” Cassavetes said. “She’s in full dementia. And it’s so crazy — we lived it, she acted it, and now it’s on us.” Sadly, as it turns out, the disease runs in the family. While promoting “The Notebook” in 2004, Rowlands told O magazine that she channeled her mother while playing Allie. “This last one — ‘The Notebook,’ based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks — was particularly hard because I play a character who has Alzheimer’s,” Rowlands told the publication at the time. “I went through that with my mother, and if Nick hadn’t directed the film, I don’t think I would have gone for it — it’s just too hard. On the Wednesday, June 19 episode of Travis and Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast, Jason said some very correct things about the monarchy. Apparently, Travis wasn’t down with Jason dissing the monarchy Slipping in a somewhat crass joke, Jason Kelce then added: “F–k kings, but I wouldn’t mind [my wife] Kylie kneeling at my feet.” He also joked about the idea of people feeding him grapes. For some reason, his brother Travis pushed back on his sentiment, almost pleading: “Not ‘f–k kings.'” It’s unclear why Travis Kelce pushed back on this, unless it was anticipation of potentially encountering royalty days later at Wembley Arena. And that could make things awkward if he were to meet a member of the British Royal family in person. And, of course, he did just that. Travis ended up appearing in an Instagram photo with Taylor Swift, Prince William, Princess Charlotte, and Prince George. Monarchy’s History With Taylor Swift Prince William has met Taylor Swift before — as far back as 2013, in fact. It was arguably a much bigger deal for Prince George and Princess Charlotte to get to watch Taylor perform, not to mention the royal meet-and-greet. And this is where things become complex. Because while Jason’s absolutely right about the monarchy, that doesn’t mean that he — or anyone — is condemning this family for the circumstances of their birth. You can loathe what someone represents while acknowledging that individual people seem to be very decent. The lead singer of Crazy Town is dead, according to the Los Angeles county medical examiner’s report, and the cause of death for Shifty Shellshock remains a mystery. Many knew Seth Binzer as Shifty Shellshock. Even more knew the 2000 Crazy Town hit, “Butterfly.” He has now passed away at the age of 49. The June 24, 2024 report did not detail cause of death. It appears that the investigation is still pending. However, the medical examiner’s office did indicate that he passed away at his residence. The rap rock group launched in Los Angeles but would end up playing and entertaining countless fans throughout the world. It was years before they saw true success, however. The Gift of Game was their debut album, and it was their third single, “Butterfly,” that catapulted them into fame. Crazy Town helped define an era “Butterfly” is truly a product of its time. That’s not an insult (or even praise), but merely the truth. The song (and particularly its chorus) truly embodied the early 2000s in ways that are difficult to articulate. Because the actor’s daughter appears to have responded to her father snubbing her high school graduation in favor of a Taylor Swift concert by officially shaking him off. On an episode that aired late last week, the Roloffs provided listeners with an update about their young daughter. (TLC) “Her recovery has been great,” Zach said on air, referring to four-year old Lilah having recently had her tonsils and adenoids removed. After wife Tori acknowledged how she’s “grateful” for the toddler’s progress, Zach added of his child: “She’s been emotional, very emotional after waking up, and nap times. And clearly she’s milking it.” We’re pretty sure he was joking with that last line. Tori, Zach Roloff and their kids for TLC. (TLC) Tori and Zach told fans in May that Lilah would need to undergo this procedure. “I think we were both pretty nervous with how she would handle it and she’s been great,” Tori said on the podcast. “We’ve kept on the medication pretty heavy because everyone was like, ‘They think they’re good and then all of a sudden they’re not. So keep on the medicine.’ But like we haven’t woken up in the middle of the night to do it.” As a result of this surgery, Lilah no longer snores and has been sleeping better through the night than she did before. (TLC) In May, the former reality TV stars said their daughter would have to go through with this operation to improve the quality of her sleep after she was diagnosed with a “moderate form of sleep apnea” in the wake of a sleep study. “Her waking up out of anesthesia is gonna be tough,” Zach shared at the time. “She surprised us, though, for her sleep study, she surprised us. They didn’t do anything at her sleep study.” Zach and Tori are also parents to Jackson, 7, and Josiah, 2. The youngest also did this same sleep study at the time, but is not yet, at least, in need of any further medical testing or maneuvers. But Tori and Zach have often expressed how lucky they are that their kids have been generally okay thus far. “Dwarfism awareness has always been a super touchy subject for myself. I think I’ve made it my life’s goal to make sure our kids don’t grow up being known as a “dwarf.” Not because it’s offensive, or I’m scared of the term, but because I am scared of our kids being defined by it,” Tori wrote last year on Instagram. Added the mother of three back then: “I want to help ease the nervousness of this diagnosis and remind all parents that dwarfism DOES NOT define you or your child. God chose you for your child. The 50 Cent vs Taco Bell feud must have been one of the weirdest ever. It’s also a spat that couldn’t have happened at any other time in history. 50 Cent has been the target of diss tracks in the past. It goes with the territory of his work. But locking horns with one of America’s most beloved fast food institutions was a little odd. It all started with a joke. What followed was a $4 million lawsuit. Allegedly, various bloggers were putting him on blast for “selling out” — again, per his legal filing. In other words, he accused Taco Bell of misusing his name and trademark without his permission — and of causing harm to his public image and brand. While many people would feel nothing short of delight to feature in a Taco Bell ad … they’d want to sign off on it and get paid, right? Julie Chrisley may very well be home a lot sooner than originally believed. On Friday, the former USA Network personality learned that her seven-year prison sentence in Kentucky for tax evasion and bank fraud had been overturned by a three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. (GETTY) Back in 2022, Julie was convicted of federal tax evasion and bank fraud alongside her husband, Todd Chrisley, and their accountant, Peter Tarantino. According to their indictments, the spouses deliberately “swindled” at least $30 million from community banks from 2007 to 2012 by inflating their net worth to be approved loans. The prosecution also alleged that the couple actively hid millions they made from the show Chrisley Knows Best, as well as $500,000 in taxes Todd owed in 2009. The disgraced stars surrendered to authorities and began their respective prison sentences early last year. The appellate panel subsequently has now sent her case back to the lower court for a resentencing. Horrible news today out of the world of entertaiment: Sarah Becker, who was a main cast member on the fifth season of of MTV‘s The Real World, has passed away. She was 52 years old. Sarah Becker is dead at the young age of 52. May she rest in peace. (MTV) According to a family member who spoke to TMZ about the tragedy, Becker died by suicide early last week at her home in Illinois. She’d moved to the area to take care of some loved ones in 2023, but had plans to move back to California at some point in the near future. “Sarah Becker was made of pure sunshine,” friend Daniel Norton wrote on Facebook June 23, adding: “Full of energy and positivity, you couldn’t help but feel her warmth standing in her presence. I am grateful for our adventures and laughs.” This is a grainy old photo of Sarah Becker from the opening credits of the Real World Miami. (MTV) Back when Becker was featured in the Miami season of the Real World program, she worked in comic books, enjoyed skateboarding and memorably brought a puppy back to the group’s residence. She was 25 years old at the time (in 1996), starring on this popular series alongside housemates Dan Renzi, Melissa Padrón, Joe Patane, Cynthia Roberts, Flora Alekseyeun and Mike Lambert. The season made its mark on the franchise because it was the first time the cast received an assignment to complete during their time living together. The cast was tasked with creating a startup business with the help of $50,000, yet were ultimately unable to finish the job in a successful and/or long-lasting manner. It appears as if Josh Duggar will finally need to accept his fate: The disgraced reality television star is not going anywhere for a very long while. On Monday morning, the Supreme Court rejected Duggar’s request to consider whether his conviction for downloading images of child sexual abuse should be tossed out. Yes, as previously reported, Duggar and his legal team actually went all the way up to the Supreme Court to try and get his guilt overturned. Josh Duggar will be stuck behind federal bars for a VERY long time. (NBC) As most celebrity gossip followers know well at this point, Duggar was sentenced to 12-plus years in federal prison after a jury in Arkansas found him guilty on one count of receiving child pornography in 2021. He downloaded the aforementioned images and videos on to a computer at a used car dealership he owned, but has argued ever since that he’s innocent — and a different employee at this same business should have been considered as the culprit. This was the point made by attorney Justin Gelfand via a petition to the Supreme Court in which he claimed the original trial judge excluded “relevant evidence of an alternative perpetrator” after barring the defense from telling jurors about a prior sex offense of a former employee at Duggar’s dealership. The guy has some serious problems. Duggar also lost a appeal about a year ago after trying to get a different court to hear his legal whining, whimpering and complaining. During that performance, Taylor paid tribute to her band. “Every one of my band members, every single one of our crew, my band — who’s gonna be playing live for you for three and a half hours tonight — they deserve this so much,” she praised. If Taylor Swift did say this to clap back at Dave Grohl’s, then she did it delicately, diplomatically, and masterfully. Tom Cruise’s daughter Suri graduated from high school over the weekend. But the Mission Impossible star was MIA at the ceremony, opting to spend his Saturday night with Taylor Swift instead. Yes, Tom was in attendance for one of three shows that Taylor put on at London’s Wembley Stadium over the weekend. The A-lister was even spotted exchanging friendship bracelets with his fellow concertgoers ahead of Taylor’s performance. In any event, Suri’s mom, Katie Holmes, was on hand for her daughter’s big day. But Tom — who allegedly has not seen Suri in several years — had other priorities. But one thing is certain — Suri will probably never be able to listen to The Tortured Poets Department without thinking of the time that her dad missed her graduation.
