In today's episode of SCS On The Road, we take a look back at our participation at this year's Gamescom. Take a look at how it went! This year, at the end of August, we once again took part in Gamescom in Cologne, Germany! We had a booth with six PC stations and two of our 4D Motion Simulators, where fans could get hands-on with previews of our upcoming Coaches, Road Trip: Ford, Iceland, South Dakota, and British Columbia DLCs. The cherry on top was the brand-new Volvo FH Series 6 100 Year Edition, which Volvo Trucks were kind enough to bring along and display at our booth. Over the five-day show, we welcomed a huge number of visitors and content creators who came to try out our upcoming DLCs. Riot Games’ anti-cheat head, Phillip Koskinas, has challenged a Reddit post claiming that a secondhand CPU left a player unable to play VALORANT and caused their other PC components to be blacklisted. Koskinas said he couldn’t find the player’s support ticket, but described the story as unlikely based on how Riot’s hardware bans work. His response disputes the claimed spread of the ban, while leaving the player’s individual case unresolved. In brief: A Reddit user claimed a used Ryzen 7 5800X3D carried a previous owner’s VALORANT hardware ban. They also claimed installing it caused their motherboard and storage to be blacklisted. Koskinas says hardware bans last a maximum of four months and apply only to the game where cheating was detected. Riot says matching one banned component does not cause every other component to be banned. What Did the VALORANT Player Claim About Their Used CPU? In a post on r/PCBaumeister, the player said they bought a used Ryzen 7 5800X3D through classified ads. The processor worked normally, but they were kicked out when they launched VALORANT. According to the player, Riot support told them the CPU had been flagged following a hardware ban issued on August 12 because its previous owner had apparently cheated. They said they had only owned the processor since September 21. The post also claimed that the rest of their system, including the motherboard and hard drive, had ended up on the blacklist. In an edit, the player said further contact with support had failed to resolve the problem. These are the poster’s claims, rather than a confirmed account of Riot’s support findings. Riot Says Hardware Bans Do Not Spread to Every PC Component Koskinas pushed back on the account and explained that Riot’s hardware bans have a maximum duration of four months. They also apply only to the game in which cheats were detected. He specifically rejected the claim that one flagged part causes the rest of a PC to be added to the blacklist. In the statement, he said Riot does not ban “everything else” when it matches one component. Players can also ask support how much time remains on a hardware ban. His explanation challenges the claim that installing the used processor left every other part banned. However, because he couldn’t locate the support ticket, his response does not establish exactly what happened to this player. Vanguard Hardware Bans and PC Damage Are Separate Issues Riot has previously addressed concerns about Vanguard affecting hardware. During its crackdown on DMA cheating devices, the company clarified that Vanguard does not physically damage PCs or their components. GameRiv covered that explanation in its report on the Vanguard cheating hardware update. The player’s specific situation still needs clarification, but Riot has directly rejected the claim that a single matched component automatically gets the whole system blacklisted. After an exciting weekend of qualifications (and non-qualifications) at last week’s Playoffs 2, it’s now almost time to crown our second (of two) PUBG EMEA Championship: Fall Champions! We play the classic SUPER format: three match days, and whoever has the most amount of combined kill points and placement points at the end of 15 matches will become the first PEC: Fall Champion! PGC Points Finals 1 & Finals 2 of PEC: Fall is the final chance for teams to earn PGC Points, which they will use to qualify to the PUBG Global Championship (PGC) 2026, in Istanbul, Türkiye! With 32 teams competing and over $1,500,000 of prize pool on the line (not to mention bragging rights of being the best PUBG team in the world), it’s already shaping up to be a dramatic event. Make sure to tune in to the PEC: Finals to find out who will secure their tickets to the event! PGC Host Wildcard With PGC taking place in Türkiye, one team for the Türkiye region will also be selected to represent their nation as the host team - seeded directly into the Grand Finals in Istanbul from December 11 - 13. The team will be selected based on performances throughout the year and other criteria - so a strong performance in regional tournaments like PEC could be critical. Additionally, if a Turkish team qualifies for PGC via PGC Points, they will automatically receive the wildcard slot. The PGC Points slot will then be assigned to the next best ranked EMEA team in the PGC Points standings. If more than one Turkish team qualify for PGC via PGC Points directly, the top-ranked team will receive the Host Team Wildcard. Drops Even if a PEC: Fall tournament title or ticket to Istanbul isn’t in your future, you can still tune in and earn Drops by watching the broadcast live on Twitch and Kick! Each day this weekend there’s a new Drop up for grabs - reach 120 minutes of cumulative watch time on a PEC (or PAS, or both!) broadcast on any given day to unlock that day’s drop. Riot Games is asking all players at VALORANT Champions Shanghai to use a wired mouse connection after repeated interference caused technical pauses and disrupted matches. The company is also replacing the tournament’s custom metal desks as part of its efforts to resolve the problem. In its competition update, Riot acknowledged that the tournament experience has fallen below its expectations for players and fans. It expects a permanent solution to be in place within the next few days. In brief: Riot is asking all Champions Shanghai players to use wired mouse connections to reduce further disruptions. The custom metal desks will be replaced with desks made from a different material. Riot expects a permanent solution within the next few days. Riot also admitted that a round in FUT Esports’ match against 100 Thieves should have been rolled back, but the match result will stand. Riot Is Asking Champions Shanghai Players to Use Wired Mice According to Riot, repeated mouse interference has interrupted its biggest VALORANT tournament of the year, leading to multiple technical pauses. The immediate response is to ask every player to use a wired mouse connection while organizers work on a lasting fix. Riot said many competitors had already made the switch themselves. For players who have spent countless hours getting comfortable with their setup, these changes might impact their performance. Even Riot acknowledged that peripheral settings and muscle memory affect performance, describing the wired connection as the best available option for now. The statement frames this as a temporary measure while the underlying issues are addressed. It does not announce a permanent ban on wireless mice. Riot Will Replace the Tournament’s Custom Metal Desks One of the specific changes Riot outlined is replacing the custom metal desks it built for the event with alternatives made from another material. Riot said it has already taken several steps to address the interference and expects a permanent solution within days. View Article Media Media gallery × ❮ ❯ 1 / 1 If you have played GTA V for more then atleast 50-100 hours, you 100% know that quite often you'll hear the sound of a speeding car in the distance, and I decided to add it into l4d because I think it fits the creepy atmosphere of l4d honestly, that's my opinion, what you most likely didn't know is the sound in GTA actually changes depending on where you are on the map, so if your in the city it'll sound loud and kinda muffled fsr, and out north towards paleto bay it sounds quite quieter and more clear, and I made the loud and muffled one play in maps that are more of a big city that are more likely to be closer to where a speeding car would be, and maps that are more of a smalltown play the quiet and clear one, lemme be more specific: Loud & Muffled: The Passing C1-C2 Hard Rain No Mercy Crash Course Dead Air Quiet & Clear: Dead Center The Passing C3 Dark Carnival Swamp Fever The Parish Cold Stream Death Toll Blood Harvest The Sacrifice The Last Stand You also may notice that on Hard Rain the sound is a bit louder then usual, Especially if you muted the sound of the storm, but I adjusted the volumes to fit the ambience so it's not too quiet, And if you think I should change something lemme know in a comment and I'll let you know Note: You'll still here the audio play even if you get my add-on that mutes ambience, I recommend leaving ambience unmuted View the full article

This weekend marks the final weekend of regional play for this year’s PUBG Esports calendar, and it’s a doozy - over three match days, we’ll be crowning regional champions in the PUBG EMEA Championship and the PUBG Americas Series! It’s also the last chance for regional teams to earn PGC Points, which they will use to qualify to the PUBG Global Championship 2026 in Istanbul this November.
