5. Apex Legends players in Brazil are reportedly facing major changes to the game’s monetization system, with Apex Packs no longer available for purchase and parts of the Battle Pass being reworked for the region. According to a new report from insider HYPERMYST, Brazilian players can no longer purchase Apex Packs using Apex Coins. Apex Packs included in the Premium Battle Pass are also reportedly being replaced with Crafting Metals, while the Ultimate and Ultimate+ Battle Pass tiers are unavailable in the country. The changes appear to be connected to Brazil’s Digital ECA legislation, which introduces stricter protections for children and teenagers across online services, including specific restrictions surrounding loot boxes in video games. In brief: Apex Packs reportedly can no longer be purchased with Apex Coins in Brazil. Apex Packs in the Premium Battle Pass are reportedly being replaced with Crafting Metals. Ultimate and Ultimate+ Battle Pass options are reportedly unavailable to Brazilian players. The changes appear connected to Brazil’s Digital ECA rules covering loot boxes and younger players. Apex Packs Can No Longer Be Purchased in Brazil Under the newly reported system, Brazilian Apex Legends players are unable to spend Apex Coins directly on Apex Packs. Normally, a standard Apex Pack costs 100 Apex Coins, while Epic and Legendary packs can also be sold at higher prices. EA says that Apex Coins can generally be used to purchase packs, but it also makes clear that certain items are not available in all territories. Apex Packs contain randomized cosmetic items or Crafting Metals, which makes them fall under the broader category of loot boxes. EA has already acknowledged that its services in Brazil are being adjusted to comply with the Digital ECA. The company specifically lists “random content mechanics,” including loot boxes, among the features that may be affected for Brazilian accounts. Crafting Metals Reportedly Replace Battle Pass Apex Packs The changes also appear to extend to the Apex Legends Battle Pass. According to HYPERMYST, Apex Packs that would normally appear as rewards on the Premium Battle Pass are being replaced with Crafting Metals for players in Brazil. So, that would allow players to directly select and craft eligible cosmetics rather than receiving randomized items from packs. Before these changes, Apex Battle Passes regularly included several Apex Packs. EA’s official Battle Pass information lists packs among both Premium and additional Ultimate rewards, while also noting that Apex Packs are not available in every territory. Ultimate and Ultimate+ Battle Passes Reportedly Unavailable Brazilian players are also reportedly unable to purchase the Ultimate and Ultimate+ versions of the Battle Pass. Those tiers traditionally contain additional Apex Packs as instant rewards. For example, previous Ultimate Battle Pass offerings included eight instant Apex Packs alongside 1,200 Crafting Metals. If Apex Packs are being removed from monetized offerings in Brazil, those bundled rewards could explain why EA has temporarily or permanently removed the higher Battle Pass tiers from sale in the region. EA has not yet published a detailed breakdown confirming how every Brazil-specific Battle Pass reward will work going forward. Brazil’s Digital ECA Targets Loot Boxes Brazil’s Digital ECA law specifically prohibits loot boxes in games aimed at children and teenagers or games considered likely to be accessed by them. Regulations published alongside the law state that games containing loot boxes must verify players’ ages and prevent children and teenagers from accessing the feature. Alternatively, publishers can provide versions of their games without loot boxes or restrict access to the feature by default. Brazil’s government describes loot boxes as randomized rewards acquired through payments or in-game currencies and says the restrictions are intended to protect younger players. The reported Apex Legends changes therefore line up closely with the country’s new regulatory requirements. As of writing, the removal of Apex Pack purchases, Battle Pass reward replacements, and unavailable Ultimate tiers appear to be Brazil-specific. EA has not announced similar changes for Apex Legends players worldwide. The post Apex Legends Removes Apex Packs From Brazil Following New Loot Box Rules appeared first on GameRiv. 6. Street Fighter 6 is officially invading the Outlands as part of the Apex Legends vs Street Fighter 6 Event, bringing one of Apex Legends’ biggest crossover events yet. Running from September 22 to October 13, 2026, the collaboration introduces Street Fighter abilities to Wildcard, a remixed version of Olympus, eight crossover Legend skins, eight Legendary weapon skins, and the new Hadoken Mythic Universal Melee cosmetic. In brief: Apex Legends vs Street Fighter 6 runs from September 22 to October 13. Wildcard players can use fighting styles inspired by Ryu, Chun-Li, Akuma, and Dhalsim. Eight Apex Legends characters are getting Street Fighter 6 crossover skins. The event introduces the Hadoken Mythic Universal Melee and a chaotic Showdown finale. Street Fighter Abilities Take Over Apex Legends Wildcard The biggest gameplay addition comes to Wildcard, where players can collect Fighter Gear and choose one of four Street Fighter-inspired kits. Each fighter comes with a Passive, Tactical, and Ultimate: Ryu: Fast movement, ranged Hadokens, and a Shin Shoryuken uppercut. Chun-Li: Wall-running, faster melee attacks, Kikoken projectiles, and a charged Kikosho attack. Akuma: Gou Hadoken fireballs and the devastating Shun Goku Satsu. Dhalsim: Low-gravity movement, Yoga Teleport, and the aerial Yoga Sunburst. Players can also collect tokens across the map to fill their Fight Gauge. Activating it puts the Legend into Fighter Form and switches the game to a third-person perspective. While Fighter Form is active, players gain access to their new Tactical and Ultimate abilities, stronger melee attacks, blocking, extra damage resistance, and bonus movement speed. Landing abilities can also help replenish the Fight Gauge before it runs out. Showdown Turns the Final Fight Into Street Fighter Chaos Matches can eventually reach Showdown, a special final round designed to turn the closing moments of Wildcard into an all-out fighting game battle. During Showdown, everyone receives an infinite Fight Gauge, meaning players can freely activate Fighter Form. Downed and respawning players are also sent straight back into the arena. So, that means the final battle can quickly turn into a barrage of Hadokens, combos, melee attacks, and Street Fighter abilities until one squad scores the final knockout. Olympus Gets a Street Fighter 6 Makeover The crossover will also feature a special Street Fighter 6 remix of Olympus. Fight Night has been transformed into Luke’s Gym, where entering the ring activates Fighter Form. Players can also destroy Punch Trucks to collect tokens for their Fight Gauge. Other changes around Olympus include giant fighter statues, Street Fighter-themed graffiti, arcade machines, Blanka-chan balloons, banners, and other decorations inspired by Capcom’s fighting game. Hadoken Mythic Universal Melee One of the headline cosmetics is the Hadoken Mythic Universal Melee. Rather than being tied to one specific Legend like a traditional Heirloom, the Hadoken is a Universal Melee cosmetic inspired by Street Fighter’s iconic projectile attack. It also comes with a matching Deathbox cosmetic. All Apex Legends x Street Fighter 6 Skins Eight Legends are receiving new Iconic Skins based on Street Fighter 6 characters: Sparrow as Ryu Alter as Chun-Li Bangalore as Elena Mirage as Luke Gibraltar as Akuma Wattson as Cammy Caustic as Blanka Pathfinder as Dhalsim The crossover also adds eight Legendary Street Fighter 6-themed weapon skins for the: R-99 EVA-8 Flatline Volt G7 Scout Mozambique Devotion Peacekeeper Players can also collect Skydive Emotes, Holosprays, Stickers, Badges, Trackers, and Banner Frames during the event. Street Fighter 6 Reward Shop Playing during the event lets players earn Zenny, which can be spent in the limited-time Reward Shop. One of the standout rewards is an Epic Lifeline skin inspired by Li-Fen. The reward tracks also include Apex Packs, Battle Pass Stars, Crafting Metals, trackers, banners, and an event badge. Twitch Drops and Discord Quest Rewards There are also extra cosmetics available outside the main event progression. From September 22 to September 29, watching any Apex Legends Twitch stream for 60 minutes will unlock the Insert Coin Here Weapon Charm. Meanwhile, the Apex Legends Discord Quest runs from September 22 to October 12. Playing Apex Legends for 15 minutes while completing the quest unlocks the Kung Fu Coach Tracker Set. Players will need their respective Twitch or Discord accounts linked to their EA account to receive the rewards. Apex Legends vs Street Fighter 6 Event Release Date The Apex Legends vs Street Fighter 6 Event begins September 22 and ends October 13, 2026. 8.
