Corki receives huge changes focused on reducing AD ratios in LoL patch 14.3.

Corki is one of the most interesting champions in League of Legends, because of how his kit works. It’s quite different from the rest of the champions. Champions can be divided into 2 categories based on the nature of their damage output. One is AD champions, who benefit from building Attack Damage, and the other one is AP champions, who dish out magic damage from Ability Power.

Whether a champion is AP or AD inclined depends on their abilities’ description. Some champions have both AD and AP modifiers but in different proportions. For example, Kai’Sa can build both AP and AD or go full AD or full AP. In his case, she will scale just fine because her playstyle will change based on her AP/AD ratio. Thanks to his flexible kit, he has both kinds of abilities (W being AP-oriented, and Q being AD-oriented).

Then there’s Corki, who is somewhat similar but different in the sense that even if you build AD on him, your damage output is actually magic damage. The AD output from his kit is magnificently lower than magic damage. AP Corki is also a thing, but the meta currently favors the alternative, since the AP ratios are quite lower for his abilities.

Not to mention, the item changes in 2024 have increased the price-to-value ratio for assassin/lethality items.

All the Corki Changes in Patch 14.3

The upcoming changes Corki will be undergoing are as follows:

• W AP ratio increased from 40% to 60%
• W cooldown reduced from 20 – 16 seconds to 20 – 12
• W mana cost reduced from 100 to 80
• Package duration reduced from 60 seconds to 45

Riot has heavily targeted Corki’s W adjustment for the next patch. The AP ratio increase will put the players into a dilemma regarding itemization. They will still be going AD build most likely, since the initial package damage changes have been reverted. So, there’s still the 200% bonus AD ratio on package.

However, the decreased mana cost and cooldown on W might make some players buy 1 AP item as well. Currently, Corki goes full lethality as core items. Still, the win rate is at around 47%. Hopefully, this buff will bring him back to his glory.

Lol Patch 14.3 Release Date

These huge Corki changes will be live on the Lol servers, from February 7, 2024, as patch 14.3 gets officially released.
