- Update 2.4.1: Changes to Maps
Commanders! Update 2.4.1 comes with a new batch of map improvements. The Nebelburg location from Grand Battles is now available in Random Battles. Himmelsdorf, Ruinberg, Siegfried Line, Fisherman's Bay, and Overlord have undergone changes to expand tactical opportunities, improve balance between vehicle types, and deliver more engaging battles. The improved matchmaker substantially increases your chances of not seeing the same map during an average playing session. Nebelburg ReturnsThe map's size has been reduced from 1,400 m × 1,400 m to 1,000 m × 1,000 m. Multiple areas (marked on the minimap below) have been changed to expand tactical opportunities and improve gameplay for all vehicle types. Castle (1). The direction with its key point in the castle has been significantly reworked. New cover and terrain folds have been added to allow for various tactics and engagement ranges. The Nebelburg castle suits all vehicle types, especially heavy tanks. Island (2). This new area allows fast vehicles (light or medium tanks) to spot opponents early and also assist adjacent flanks—for example, by moving to the heavies' flank in the castle or by supporting allies in the village. Village (3). Controlling this area gives you the opportunity to secure the center and provide fire support to different flanks. TD positions (4). These new positions near the capture circles in the southwest and the northeast allow you to control the central part of the map and cover allied vehicles. Hills (5). Dense vegetation and varied terrain create various tactical options for light and medium tanks. Late-battle routes (6). The terrain here has been modified to diversify gameplay in the second half of the battle. Five Maps Reworked Fisherman's Bay. The changes are aimed at improving interaction between vehicle types across the flanks—by adding new and varied positions and cover. Vegetation density has been reduced for some zones and increased for the area used by the southern team to approach the city blocks. Siegfried Line. The terrain of the fields by the town has been reshaped, and those playing there will have more tactical options and chances for survival. The town wall now has more dents and breaches, which creates new lines of fire. Himmelsdorf. The southern team gets a new position in the city to counter that of their opponents. Ruinberg. Minor changes have been made in the urban area to adjust lines of fire and firing arcs. Overlord. The changes aim to adjust the side balance, mostly by improving the positions of the northern team. Adapt to changing battlefields: jump into Update 2.4.1 and play on reshaped maps. Roll Out! View the full article- Playlist Echo

- Apex Legends Ranked Is Reportedly Getting a Legend Ban System: How Voting and Ban Protection Could Work
Apex Legends players could soon get a say in which Legends they face in Ranked. A new leak from insider Osatou_Apex claims a Legend Ban system is planned for around Season 31, with player voting, a roulette for tied results, and protection for certain characters. If it arrives as described, your usual squad composition could change before the match even starts. Here’s what the reports reveal so far. In brief: A leaked Legend Ban feature is reportedly planned for Ranked around Season 31. Players would select a Legend to ban, with results revealed once everyone has voted. Tied votes would reportedly be settled through a roulette. Certain Legends would receive Ban Protection, although the eligibility rules remain unclear. How the Apex Legends Ranked Ban System Would Work Earlier reporting from GameRiv described a leaked interface featuring a “Ban Legend” option alongside the Preferred Legend and Mute Squad controls. Each player in the Ranked lobby would reportedly choose one character they want removed from that match, with votes revealed and counted together. Osatou’s latest post describes the following process: Select the Legend you want to ban. Wait for everyone to finish voting. View the voting results. If the vote ends in a tie, a roulette decides the outcome. So, the tie rule adds a detail missing from the earlier report. However, the supplied information still leaves questions about how many Legends can be banned per match and whether a minimum vote count is required. A squad built around one specific Legend’s abilities could need a different approach if that character becomes unavailable. What Is Ban Protection in Apex Legends? Ban Protection would reportedly prevent qualifying Legends from being banned. GameRiv’s earlier report described a shield icon and an accompanying message indicating that a character was protected. Osatou also mentions protection for Legends that meet specific conditions, but the supplied post doesn’t explain those conditions. Obviously, that leaves several details unresolved, including which characters qualify, how long protection lasts, and whether eligibility changes between matches. There’s also no confirmed list of protected Legends in the material that is now circulating online. Players should avoid assuming their main will be exempt. Until the rules are revealed, protection remains one of the biggest unanswered parts of the proposed system. When Could Legend Bans Arrive in Apex Legends Ranked? The reported implementation window is around Season 31. So, as of writing, there is no exact release date or confirmation that the feature would arrive at the start of the season. As with any other early leak, the reported system should be taken with a grain of salt. The voting process, roulette rules, protection conditions, and release timing could all change before any official rollout. Apex Legends is facing fresh cheating reports just days after introducing EA Javelin Anticheat on PC. Reports describe blatant cheating in high-level Ranked matches, including speed hacks and entire squads being wiped out with a single shot. The timing is frustrating for players hoping the anti-cheat switch would improve Ranked. Javelin went live on September 29, putting these reports within its first week in Apex. In brief HYPERMYST has reported blatant cheating in high-level Apex Legends Ranked games. The reported cheats include single-shot squad wipes and speed hacks. EA Javelin Anticheat launched on PC on September 29, replacing Easy Anti-Cheat. Apex Legends Ranked Reports Include Speed Hacks and Single-Shot Squad Wipes According to the post shared by HYPERMYST, cheaters are appearing in high-level Ranked lobbies with cheats capable of ending fights almost instantly. The reported behavior includes wiping an entire squad with one shot and using speed hacks. In Ranked, losing a match to that kind of cheating can undo progress before a team has a reasonable chance to fight back. Blatant cheaters are appearing in high-level Apex Ranked games • Entire squads being wiped with a single shot • Speed hacks New EA Javelin anti-cheat was introduced on PC just 5 days ago. pic.twitter.com/zBO2kOqDq8 — HYPERMYST (@HYPERMYSTx) October 5, 2026 The report raises questions about how quickly these cheats can be detected and stopped. However, it does not establish how widespread they are or whether cheating has increased since the switch. EA Javelin Anticheat Launched Less Than a Week Ago Respawn announced the move to Javelin on September 24, with the PC rollout taking effect on September 29. The developer said the change would give its anti-cheat teams better visibility into emerging threats and more flexibility to improve detections as cheats evolve. Players climbing through Ranked will judge the update by how often cheating disrupts their matches and how quickly offending accounts are removed. Respawn has also taken action against a separate exploit involving Ballistic’s Sling passive that allowed a modified client to crash servers. In its October 1 update, the team confirmed a fix, a permanent ban for the investigated player, and enforcement against other accounts using that exploit. That announcement addressed server crashes, rather than the cheats described in HYPERMYST’s latest report. - Apex Legends Nerfs Axle, Disables Aim Assist During Nitro Gate Effects
Respawn has rolled out a new Apex Legends update targeting Axle’s movement and combat abilities. The biggest change disables aim assist for players under Nitro Gate’s effect, alongside nerfs to slide control, launch speed, and the Kickstart drone. The October 1 update also fixes an issue with Alter’s abilities and adjusts Wildcard’s Apex KO fighter combat. For players using Axle to push fights, there are several changes to get used to. In brief: Aim assist is now disabled for any player under Nitro Gate’s effect. Axle’s passive slide control and Nitro Gate’s movement benefits have been reduced. Kickstart’s maximum knock-up and drone chase duration have been nerfed. Alter receives an ability fix, while Apex KO fighters lose some defense and stored Ultimate charges. Nitro Gate Aim Assist Disabled in Apex Legends Axle nerf affects anyone using Nitro Gate, as players under its effect no longer receive aim assist. Respawn’s wording applies to Nitro Gate users generally, so this also affects teammates taking advantage of the ability. So, for controller players, that means aiming during a Nitro Gate push will need an adjustment. The restriction is tied specifically to the ability’s effect, rather than every slide. Nitro Gate’s movement also takes a hit: Sliding lateral control: Reduced by 25% for Nitro Gate users. Initial push speed: Reduced from 700 to 650. These changes should make Nitro Gate pushes less forgiving, particularly when players try to steer through tight turns while keeping their momentum. Axle’s Passive Slide Control and Kickstart Ultimate Nerfed Axle’s passive receives a 50% reduction to sliding lateral control. Respawn explains that this makes it harder to maintain slide momentum while cornering tightly. The change targets control through turns, rather than simply cutting slide speed in half. Kickstart also receives three adjustments: A drone that locks onto a target immediately after deployment now produces a significantly smaller knock-up. Maximum knock-up magnitude drops from 700 to 650. Maximum drone chase time falls from 10 seconds to eight seconds. The shorter chase gives the drone two fewer seconds to pursue a target. Combined with the knock-up changes, the Ultimate puts less sustained pressure on opponents trying to escape. Alter Fix and Apex KO Wildcard Balance Changes Respawn has fixed unreliable tactical and Ultimate ability usage for Alter near large moving structures. Meanwhile, Apex KO’s Fighter’s Defense damage reduction drops from 55% to 50%. The developers say fighters remain difficult to defeat in one-on-one encounters against gun users, and this adjustment gives those players more damage against an approaching fighter. Ryu, Chun-Li, and Dhalsim can now store two Ultimate charges instead of three. Respawn wants to reduce consecutive Ultimate attacks that leave opposing teams with little time to respond. Ultimate damage and meter accumulation rates remain unchanged. Finally, Fight Gauge now regenerates passively while players are outside Fighter Form and below one pip. This addresses token shortages as K.O. Trucks are destroyed, helping players regain access to Fighter Form during a match. - Apex Legends Fixes Ballistic Crash Exploit, Permanently Bans Abuser
Respawn has permanently banned an Apex Legends player after investigating an exploit used to deliberately crash matches. The studio says it has also fixed the vulnerability and is taking action against all accounts found using it. According to Respawn’s competitive integrity update, the exploit involved Ballistic’s Sling passive and a modified game client. It allowed the perpetrator to overwhelm a server, disconnect the lobby, and then attempt to gain an advantage by reconnecting. In brief: Respawn confirmed a permanent account ban following its investigation into intentional lobby crashes. The exploit involved Ballistic’s Sling passive and excessive weapon optic duplication. A fix has been implemented to prevent further abuse of this vulnerability. Other accounts found using the exploit are also facing action. How the Apex Legends Ballistic Exploit Crashed Servers Respawn’s anti-cheat team investigated a player who appeared to be repeatedly causing lobbies to crash. And that investigation led to the uncovering of an exploit involving Ballistic’s Sling passive, with a modified game client duplicating a weapon optic far beyond its intended limits. The duplicated items placed excessive strain on the server. Eventually, the match would become unresponsive and crash for everyone in the lobby. The disruption was intentional, and Respawn says the player would reconnect after the crash and attempt to take advantage of other players still being disconnected. So, that meant an entire lobby’s match could be disrupted to give one player an unfair opportunity. Respawn Confirms Permanent Ban and Ballistic Exploit Fix After identifying the behavior and confirming what caused the crashes, Respawn implemented a fix and permanently banned the investigated account. The studio also said it is taking action against all accounts found using the exploit. However, the supplied statement does not give a total number of affected accounts or specify the punishment issued to each additional account. It also refers to matches and lobbies generally, without identifying Ranked as the only affected mode. Player Reports Helped Respawn Investigate the Crashes Respawn credited players who reported suspicious lobby crashes and shared information that helped its investigation. The studio says it will continue investigating intentional match disruption and taking action when it can confirm abuse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vd3zqqsVYGk- Apex Legends Won’t Make Solo-Only Ranked Permanent After Matchmaking Test
Apex Legends won’t make its solo-only Ranked restriction permanent after the test failed to improve match quality. While the experiment reduced premade stacks, more players encountered Masters and Predators, and Ranked participation dropped. The restriction targeted Diamond and above, where Respawn wanted to see whether having everyone queue alone would create fairer matches. The results you’d want from that change, better-balanced lobbies and a more enjoyable Ranked experience, didn’t follow. In brief: Apex Legends won’t make the tested solo-only Ranked restriction permanent. Limiting premade squads to a one-tier rank difference had little impact. Solo-only matchmaking reduced stacks but failed to improve matches, with more players encountering Masters and Predators. Ranked participation declined during the test. Apex Legends Tested Solo-Only Ranked Respawn introduced the experiment to address the gap between solo players and coordinated premade squads at higher ranks. In its earlier matchmaking update, the studio said equally skilled three-stacks had a significant advantage in Diamond-and-above matches. Players who mainly queued with premade squads also reached the highest tiers faster. The test required players at those ranks to queue individually and rely on matchmade teammates. GameRiv previously covered the Diamond-and-above solo-only Ranked test scheduled to start June 30. Fewer Stacks Didn’t Deliver Better Matches The main highlight from the supplied test results is that reducing premade stacks didn’t improve overall match quality. More players faced Masters and Predators, while Ranked participation fell. And for players hoping solo-only matchmaking would make the climb feel more balanced, those findings leave the underlying problem unresolved. Removing the ability to queue with friends was also a substantial trade-off. Before the experiment, Respawn acknowledged that playing together was central to Apex and said it would assess whether any fairness improvements justified the restriction. On top of that, pro players like Imperialhal heavily criticized this move. According to him, forcing solo ranked could hurt the game. One-Tier Premade Restrictions Had Little Impact Respawn also tested limiting premade teammates to within one rank tier of each other, tightening the previous two-tier allowance. The aim was to reduce the rank gaps that mixed-rank squads brought into matches. According to Respawn’s data, that restriction had little impact, giving Respawn another reason to look beyond party restrictions for a solution. The Grounds înseamnă fotbal stradal la scară mică.
