Gibraltar Becomes a Speed Demon With New Apex Legends Attachment

Gibraltar has traditionally been known as one of the slowest-looking and heaviest Legends in Apex Legends. However, a powerful interaction between his Level 3 upgrade and a new Corrupted Attachment is turning the defensive giant into an unexpected speed demon.

As players begin experimenting with the Apex Legends Season 30 update, Gibraltar’s surprising movement potential is already raising questions about whether Respawn has pushed his mobility too far.

Gibraltar’s Level 3 Fast Shotties upgrade allows him to move at holstered speed while holding a shotgun. It also automatically reloads his carried shotguns whenever he knocks an enemy.

The perk was already strong for aggressive Gibraltar players because shotguns are commonly used during close-range Dome of Protection fights. It lets him maintain maximum movement speed without putting his weapon away, removing one of the main disadvantages of carrying a shotgun.

Gibraltar also received a separate passive movement boost earlier in 2026. After maintaining maximum sprint speed for a short period, he gains an additional burst of speed, which can activate while Fast Shotties is active.

Season 30, officially titled Marked, introduces Corrupted Attachments that provide major advantages alongside negative trade-offs. One of these is the Agile Standard Stock, which eliminates the weapon movement-speed penalty and increases movement speed while aiming down sights. Its downside is a reduced magazine size.

When paired with a compatible shotgun and Gibraltar’s Fast Shotties upgrade, the attachment creates an extremely mobile close-range setup. Gibraltar can sprint with his shotgun ready, move faster while aiming, and automatically reload after securing a knock.

Respawn’s patch notes do not explain the exact stacking calculations, but the interaction has already made Gibraltar appear dramatically faster during gameplay.

The reaction is part of a larger debate surrounding movement creep in Apex Legends. Players have recently criticized Respawn for giving more Legends speed boosts instead of preserving their original identities, with Gibraltar’s new mobility receiving particular attention.

Gibraltar is still a large and easy target, but chasing a fully upgraded Gibraltar carrying a shotgun may now be much more dangerous than players expect.
