Behind the Scenes: 2026 Global Exclusive Cosmetics

Our recent Behind the Scenes article on Shadow Raids saw a lot of interest from the community, so we wanted to do another one. This time, we sat down with the Smilegate Cosmetics Team to get an early look at the 2026 Global Exclusive collection arriving in June. This is the first time we've previewed upcoming cosmetics before release, and these are designed exclusively for the global version of Lost Ark.

The collection includes new skins, weapon skins, a mount, a pet, and a wallpaper. These are still in development, so the final versions may differ from what's shown here.

Q: Let's talk about the new Outfits and Weapon Skins. What was the creative direction for this year's exclusive skins?

A: Every year, we are deeply grateful for the immense love adventurers show toward our summer swimwear skins. At the same time, we have also listened closely to those who long for the weight and depth of a classic, traditional fantasy world. With that in mind, our 2026 Global-exclusive skins aim to answer that call.

This time, we are setting aside lighter attire to bring you the romance of full armor, where the scent of the battlefield lingers, and the heavy clash of steel echoes powerfully.

When planning this skin set, we made a bold decision. Rather than offering separate upper and lower pieces as we usually have, this full-armor skin will be delivered as a unified, single-piece set. While mixing and matching pieces offers its own enjoyment, for this concept we wanted to fully convey the weight, cohesion, and striking silhouette that only complete armor can achieve.

As we developed this cosmetic concept, the team reflected on one of the most revered beings in classic fantasy worlds: the dragon.

Q: Dragons are iconic in fantasy. How did that shape the overall concept?

A: What image comes to mind when you think of a dragon? Impenetrable scales, towering horns that pierce the sky, and flames capable of consuming everything in their path.

We imagined the desperate, bloodstained figure of one who battled such a creature, a warrior who fashioned armor from the scales and horns of a fallen dragon and boldly claimed its tremendous power as their own. From this vision, the design concept Bloody Dragonslayer was born.

Naturally, we would love to show you the finished armor set in its entirety right now. However, to preserve it as a surprise for June, today we are sharing only a small preview: concept art for the weapons you'll be wielding.

From ferocious designs shaped in the very likeness of dragons, to blades polished sharp with scale and horn, embedded with crystallized droplets of a dragon's crimson blood like radiant gemstones, the moment you grasp these weapons, you will feel the might of these legendary beings coursing through Arkesia. We wish we could show you more, but we'll save the rest for June.

Q: The mount and pet look great. What inspired these designs?

A: Adventurers, have you ever gazed up at the unreachable sky while traversing the vast lands of Arkesia?

When designing this new mount, we imagined the longing of a massive creature bound to the earth for a lifetime, a yearning for the sky it can never touch. What might such a creature feel upon seeing others like itself soaring freely above? Because it cannot fly, its longing only grows stronger. We wanted to capture that tender yearning in this mount's design.

Though it lacks wings, it bears horns that reach skyward, and it has carved the form of what it admires most directly into its own body. We hope you'll look forward to discovering how this mount's heartfelt dream is expressed through its unique skills and appearance during your adventures.

The Hatterfly pet, inspired by an adorable magical girl who loves the star-filled night sky, has received tremendous love, and we still often see adventurers accompanied by it throughout Arkesia.

This new pet draws inspiration from both Hatterfly and the humanoid transformation skills commonly associated with dragons. What if a dragon, an embodiment of destruction that breathes fire and crushes everything beneath its massive form, actually had a fondness for cute, delicate things? We imagined that fearsome dragon shrinking itself down to handle small, fragile companions gently.

Though its transformation magic is still imperfect, traces of its true form occasionally peek through. This endearingly imperfect yet warm-hearted pet is eagerly preparing to walk alongside you in June. We hope you're excited to meet the adorable Dragon Maiden who will join you on your adventures in June.

Q: When bringing back an exclusive wallpaper, what moment did you choose to capture and why?

A: When we first introduced a region-exclusive wallpaper at the launch of the Global service, many adventurers responded with overwhelming enthusiasm. Unfortunately, since then, we haven't been able to offer new exclusive wallpapers as often as we'd hoped, and that has weighed heavily on our hearts.

With this new wallpaper, we aim to capture one unforgettable moment from your journey in Arkesia, an instant forever etched into your memory, and bring it to life on the character selection screen.

Do you remember that suffocating moment as you ascended Diaspero, bracing yourself for the final confrontation with Kazeros? The ominous Red Moon burning as if it might consume the world itself, granting Kazeros limitless power, and the overwhelming grandeur of Diaspero standing beneath it.

In-game, that scene may have passed in an instant. Now, we want to transform it into a living, breathing backdrop behind your characters. We've attached the original artwork for Diaspero and Red Moon below for your reference. We hope you'll once again feel the chilling awe of the Red Moon and Diaspero, just as you did on that day.
