Jynxzi Says League of Legends Is the Most Popular Game in the World During Stream Debate

Streamer Jynxzi has once again found himself in the middle of a League of Legends debate, and this time, it was not just about how hard the game is. During a recent stream, Jynxzi pushed back against his chat after someone suggested that “no one likes League,” calling the message ridiculous and arguing that League of Legends is “the most popular game in the world.”

The moment quickly started making the rounds online, mostly because Jynxzi has been on a very public League of Legends arc recently. After jumping into the game for the first time with Tyler1 coaching him, the Rainbow Six Siege star has gone from outsider to loud defender of Riot Games’ long-running MOBA in just a few days.

Jynxzi Clashes With Chat Over League of Legends’ Popularity

The debate started when Jynxzi’s chat appeared to downplay League of Legends, with one message suggesting that nobody actually likes the game. Jynxzi was not having it.

“To say no one likes League is literally the most garbage message I’ve ever read in my life,” Jynxzi said. “It is the most popular game in the world.”

Plenty of players joke about hating the game while still playing it every night. That has almost become part of League’s culture. But Jynxzi’s point is pretty simple: a game does not stay this massive for more than 15 years if nobody likes it.

Is League of Legends Really the Most Popular Game in the World?

Calling League of Legends the most popular video game of all time is a huge claim, and it depends on what metric you are using. If we are talking about total cultural reach, games like Minecraft, Fortnite, GTA V, Roblox, and Counter-Strike all belong in the conversation.

However, Jynxzi is not completely out of pocket either. League of Legends remains one of the biggest PC games in the world. March 2026 ranking of PC games placed League of Legends at number five among the most popular PC games globally by monthly active users, behind Counter-Strike 2 and GO, Minecraft, Roblox, and Fortnite.

That means League may not be number one by every available metric, but it is absolutely still near the top of the PC gaming world. For a game that launched in 2009, that kind of staying power is ridiculous.

League’s Esports Dominance Still Speaks for Itself

Where League of Legends has an even stronger argument is in esports. According to Esports Charts, League of Legends is currently second among esports games in 2026 by peak viewership, only behind Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. The same database also lists League of Legends as the all-time leader by peak esports viewership, with a recorded peak of more than 6.8 million viewers.

Even when League is not dominating every Twitch trend or social media conversation, its global competitive scene remains enormous. The LCK, LPL, LEC, LTA, MSI, and Worlds keep the game relevant across multiple regions every single year.

So, while Jynxzi’s “most popular game in the world” comment might be a little heated, the bigger point holds up. League is not some niche game that only a small group of people still care about. It is one of the most important competitive games ever made.

Jynxzi’s League Arc Has Been Pure Content

This debate also hits harder because Jynxzi only recently started playing League of Legends seriously. Earlier this week, he teamed up with Tyler1 for his first major League session, with the goal of learning the game and climbing out of Iron. That stream generated a lot of attention because Jynxzi came in as a complete beginner while Tyler1, one of League’s most iconic personalities, tried to coach him through the chaos.

The result has been exactly what viewers expected. Jynxzi has struggled, raged, laughed, and slowly started to understand why League players are so obsessed with the game. He even called League of Legends the “hardest game in the world” after experiencing how overwhelming it can feel for a new player.

Jynxzi May Have Accidentally Explained League’s Whole Appeal

The funny thing is that Jynxzi’s argument almost sums up League of Legends perfectly. People joke that nobody likes League, yet millions still play it, watch it, argue about it, and follow its esports scene every year.

That contradiction is part of why League has lasted this long. It is stressful, demanding, and sometimes miserable, but it is also one of the most rewarding competitive games ever created when everything finally clicks.

Jynxzi may be new to the game, but he already understands one thing clearly: League of Legends is still massive. Whether it is the most popular video game of all time is debatable, but pretending no one likes it is just not a serious argument anymore.
