Administrators COSMIN Posted February 10 Administrators Posted February 10 Patch 26.4 for League of Legends looks like it will be a big balance update that will improve the early 2026 meta while keeping the game stable before big competitive tournaments. Riot is working on balancing the system, optimizing outliers, and changing a few champions in different roles. This patch is likely to impact the meta a little bit, but not completely, because there are a lot of buffs, nerfs, and system changes coming up. According to Riot’s official patch calendar, Patch 26.4 is set to come out on February 19, 2026. Players should expect the update to be available worldwide on that date, and complete patch notes will be available just before the launch. Major Changes in League of Legends Patch 26.4 Patch 26.4 is more about stability and fine-tuning than big changes to the meta. Riot devs said that recent upgrades have made the average game length shorter, mostly because of modifications to turret plates that were made earlier. The team is still keeping an eye on how new jungle vision mechanics and early bounty improvements affect the game. Early player surveys show that players are happier with the Top and Bot lanes, while the Jungle, Mid, and Support lanes are still more neutral. This has led to many of the adjustments in this preview. Riot also said that the goal of this patch is to make the game healthier overall before making more changes in future updates. Patch 26.4 Preview!Overall– Things are looking pretty stable; we're seeing some pretty marked game time reductions (probably from) the turret plate bulwarking reductions– We're still waiting to see the impact of the faelights and early vision changes on Jungle, but need a… pic.twitter.com/IcmgCsNfsg— Matt Leung-Harrison (@RiotPhroxzon) February 10, 2026 Patch 26.4’s champion list offers a lot of buffs and nerfs for champions that are either too strong or not strong enough. Annie, Camille, Darius in the jungle, Graves, Hwei, Lux, Samira, Udyr, and Xayah are just a few of the champions who will get buffs. Several great choices, such as Aphelios, Gwen, Jinx, Kassadin, Qiyana, Syndra, Twitch, Zac, and others, will get nerfs. Instead of just buffing or nerfing Ryze and Senna, they are getting specific changes. Riot is also providing some unusual jungle options, a slight boost, and keeping an eye on champions like Mel and Zed that have been recently hotfixed as they stabilize. On the systems side, Hexoptics is being changed to make its passive damage amplification easier for more champions to use. Also, some of the adjustments to the Challenger ranked queue that were made in prior patches are being rolled back to cut down on wait times and keep the quality of matches high. Patch 26.4 Preview! Overall Things are looking pretty stable; we’re seeing some pretty marked game time reductions (probably from) the turret plate bulwarking reductions We’re still waiting to see the impact of the faelights and early vision changes on Jungle, but need a full patch to draw some conclusions there (and on the early bounty changes) After this patch, things are likely to be in a pretty good spot overall, would love to hear from y’all what other things need changing We’ve gotten a few initial surveys back from players and Top and Bot have been reporting higher satisfaction and power, while JG, Mid, Supp have been either neutral or lower sentiment. This was pretty much our goal, but there’s still some fine tuning to do, expect some of that in some of the coming patches Systems Hexoptics hasn’t really managed to pick up much of an audience, so we’re making some adjustments to make its damage amp passive more accessible to more champions along with some other tuning adjustments Champion Changes First Stand is coming up on 26.5; we’re making a lot of changes for both general balance and hitting a few of the other outliers/forgotten champions There isn’t really a major theme here, other than trying to adjust some of the outliers that especially have benefited overly from some of the systems changes (items or otherwise) Some of our unconventional junglers are also a bit worse for wear, so we’re giving them a bit of a bump up Mel and Zed are in a decent spot after the hotfix buffs, so we’re letting them sit for a bit to stabilize Challenger+ Ranked We made some adjustments this patch to increase queue times in Challenger to get better match quality We’re going to walk this back a bit as even though match quality has factually improved a bit, players are still feeling like those matches aren’t higher quality, while having longer queue times Going to walk it back about halfway as a result The post LoL Patch 26.4 Preview: Full Champion Buffs, Nerfs, and Changes appeared first on GameRiv.
