Who is Pack Rat in Apex Legends?

There isn’t much official information on Pack Rat yet, but early leaks suggest that he might be a scavenger-style Legend connected to the game’s underground realm or the illegal market systems linked to Loba and the Syndicate. The name “Pack Rat” itself suggests a personality or kit that is all about gathering, storing, or reusing materials, which is something Apex hasn’t looked into very much yet.

According to HYPERMYSTx, files found in recent updates point to several potential ability names and effects tied to Pack Rat’s kit. While not yet confirmed, these are the rumored mechanics so far:

• Tactical – Impulser
  Summons a small droid companion (“Rat”) that follows the player, automatically collects nearby loot like health and grenades, and assists during abilities. The droid has 200 health and can be disabled for 6 seconds when downed
• Passive – Gunslinger
  Grants a short speed boost (15%) for 2 seconds after emptying a full magazine quickly with a weapon that has the Gunslinger passive
• Ultimate – Aim Assist
  Unknown (Ballistic’s tactical was being used as a placeholder)

Potential Release Window

Pack Rat is likely to be out around Season 29 or early Season 27, based on when the leak happened and Respawn’s practice of releasing new seasons. The current teases and placeholder files in the game are still marked as “WIP” (work in progress), which means that the Legend is still being tested and could be publicly disclosed in early 2026.
