Administrators COSMIN Posted May 14, 2025 Administrators Posted May 14, 2025 Players will now be able to use “WASD” as their movement input. Since the release of League of Legends back in 2008, the mouse has been the only way for players to move their characters. However, that is about to change as Riot is said to introduce “WASD” movement scheme to the game, specifically Summoners Rift. The first instance of this movement scheme being tested in League of Legends was with Swarm. The game mode used Q-E-R as the ability buttons and WASD as movement commands. Due to how smooth and user-friendly it felt, many players asked Riot to implement this onto the Summoner’s Rift. Riot hinted at the fact that it could one day come to League of Legends, and now it’s here. In addition, the ability to cast spells in the direction the character is facing will be added to the game. There are also new settings for the summoner spell “Flash” being added to the client, but it’s unknown what they do. As for when it will be arriving in League of Legends, there’s no concrete date yet. However, it is speculated that the changes should arrive in the next couple of patches.
