New Spirit Blossom Themed Summoner’s Rift Revealed For Upcoming Season

A new Spirit Blossom-themed map is arriving in League of Legends in the upcoming patch.

Riot made quite a number of changes to League of Legends at the start of 2025, from balance changes to new items and so on. However, the most important change Riot made to the game was the introduction of Seasonal Thematic.

Starting in 2025, each year will be divided into three separate seasons, and each will have its own unique theme. These themes will determine the champions, skins, and battle passes released during that season. In addition, each season will have its own map changes according to the season’s theme.

With Season 1 of 2025 ending soon, Riot has announced the theme for the upcoming season, and it’s Spirit Blossom. In accordance with the theme, Riot will be releasing new Spirit Blossom skins, a new champion called Yunara, and a new Spirit Blossom-themed map.

New Spirit Blossom Summoner Rift

The Noxian Rift is stepping down as the Summoners Rift is getting a Spirit Blossom-themed makeover in the upcoming patch.

Every part of the map is getting changes in the upcoming patch, including Turrets, Inhibitors, and even the Nexus. In addition, previously added map objectives such as Atakhan, Void Grubs, and Rift Herald are all getting some changes.

Atakhan will now have only one form, and it’s called Thornbound Atakhan. It will also have a new reward.

Killing Atakhan will grant the team any remaining Bloody Roses on the map immediately; along with this, all remaining petals will be purified into Spirit Petals, which grant 25% increased effect. In addition, they’re also rewarded with the Spiritual Purification buff for the rest of the game. This means that on takedown, they bless the area, slowing and damaging other enemies as well as granting their team a Spirit Petal.

Additionally, Void Grubs will now only spawn once per game. So there are only 3 Void Grubs instead of 6. The rewards for Void Grubs are also changed, as Void Mite spawn will be capped at 1. Since Void Grubs no longer spawn twice, Rift Herald’s spawn time has also moved a bit earlier to 15 minutes, so spawn times are better spaced out before the 20-minute mark.

Release Date

The Spirit Blossom Map, along with other changes is arriving in League of Legends in Patch 25.09, which is scheduled to go live on April 30, 2025.
