LoL 2025 Season 2 Teaser Trailer -A Dark Gambit – Everything You Need to Know

With Season 1 ending soon, Riot has released a brand new teaser trailer, giving us a glimpse of what we can expect in Season 2.

One of the biggest changes Riot made to the game at the start of Season 15 was the introduction of Seasonal Themes. Riot made it so each year would be divided into three seasons with each having a different theme. These themes determined the champions, skins, battle passes, and even maps for the season season.

The theme for Season One of 2025 was Noxus. As per the season theme Riot released  Mel Medarda, a Noxian champion, Noxus-themed skin lines such as Masque of the Black Rose and Grand Reckoning, and made Noxus-themed map changes.

However, with Season 1 of 2025 coming to an end, there are talks about what the theme of the next season will be. Some speculate that the next season is about Demacia, however, the recent cinematic suggests otherwise.

New Season Cinematic – A Dark Gambit

Recently, Riot released a new cinematic trailer called A Dark Gambit. In it, Riot gave us the players a glimpse of what we can expect in the upcoming season.

The trailer takes place after the end of the new client base mini-game “The Demon’s Hand“. In the game, LeBlanc was seen searching for a Darkin weapon. Now in the trailer, it seems LeBlanc has finally found it, and according to Atakhan, it’s in Ionia. The next part of LeBlanc’s plan requires her to head to Ionia and from the trailer it looks like LeBlanc and Vladimir are now heading there.

It seems the speculations about the next champion being a Darkin seem to coming true. Not only that we more or less have confirmation regarding what the theme for Season 2 will be and it will be Ionia.

As for when Season 2 will be released, It is expected to arrive on April 30th, 2025.
