YaPB is a modern POD-Bot replacement for Counter-Strike 1.6, providing configurable difficulty, gameplay settings and advanced bot behavior.

📥 INSTALLING YaPB

Quote

1. Download the YaPB package.

2. Extract the files into your Counter-Strike 1.6 cstrike folder.

3. Open:

cstrike/addons/metamod/plugins.ini

4. Add:

linux addons/yapb/bin/yapb.so

5. Save the file.

6. Restart your Counter-Strike 1.6 server.

YaPB should now be loaded through Metamod.

⚙️ CONFIGURING YaPB

Quote

The main YaPB configuration file is:

cstrike/addons/yapb/conf/yapb.cfg

You can reload the configuration manually from the server console:

exec addons/yapb/conf/yapb.cfg

🎮 ADDING BOTS

Quote

After YaPB has been installed and loaded correctly, you can manage the bots using the YaPB commands available on your server.

Make sure YaPB is loaded correctly before adding bots.

🔥 REMOVE "BOT" FROM STATUS

By default, ReHLDS displays YaPB fake clients in the status command as:

# 2 "BotName" 2 BOT

If you want YaPB bots to appear with Steam2-style IDs instead of BOT, you can use our custom ReHLDS build.

The modification changes only how YaPB fake clients are displayed in the status command.

📦 INSTALLING REHLDS FAKEBOT STATUS

Quote

1. Open the GitHub project:

https://github.com/cosminzm/rehlds-fakebot-status

2. Open the latest Release.

3. Choose one of the available builds:

engine_i486.so
Standard Linux i386 build

OR

engine_i486-legacy.so
Legacy-compatible Linux i386 build

4. Stop your Counter-Strike 1.6 server.

5. Make a backup of your current engine_i486.so.

6. Replace the original engine_i486.so with the downloaded build.

7. Start your server.

8. Open the server console and type:

status

⚠️ LEGACY BUILD

Quote

If the standard engine_i486.so does not work on your hosting and you receive an error such as:

GLIBC_2.32 not found
Unable to load engine, image is corrupt.

try the Legacy build:

engine_i486-legacy.so

IMPORTANT:

After downloading engine_i486-legacy.so, rename it to:

engine_i486.so

Then replace the existing engine_i486.so on your server.

The Legacy build was compiled using Ubuntu 20.04 with GLIBC 2.31 for better compatibility with older Linux hosting environments.

🔐 YaPB CONFIGURATION

For the FakeBot Status modification, keep the following YaPB settings enabled:

EnableFakeBotFeatures = 1
yb_enable_fake_steamids "1"

No YaPB source modification is required.

No AMX Mod X plugin is required.

📋 EXPECTED RESULT

Quote

After installing the modified ReHLDS engine, run:

status

Instead of:

# 2 "BotName" 2 BOT

you should see:

# 2 "BotName" 2 STEAM_0:X:XXXXXXXXXX

Each fake client receives its own randomly generated Steam2-style ID.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

⚠️ IMPORTANT

Quote

Always make a backup of your original engine_i486.so before replacing it.

The Steam2-style IDs generated by this modification are for status display only.

They are NOT real Steam accounts.

They are NOT used for Steam authentication.

This modification does not turn YaPB bots into authenticated Steam players.

If the server does not start correctly after installing the modified engine, restore your original engine_i486.so backup.

🔄 REVERTING TO THE ORIGINAL ENGINE

If the server does not start correctly after installing the modified engine:

1. Stop the server.
2. Remove the modified engine_i486.so.
3. Restore your original backup.
4. Start the server again.
