Massive Honor System Rework Coming To League of Legends In 2025

As 2025 is shaping to be one of the biggest League of Legends seasons of all time, Riot is also doing a massive Honor system rework.

Even though the game was released over 15 years ago, League of Legends is still one of the most-played games of all time. But also because of its popularity, it also has a reputation for being one of the most toxic games of all time. Due to this, Riot Games tries its hardest to remove these disruptive players.

We have seen Riot Games trying out many things. Firstly they temporarily removed all chat from the game. Now, all chat is disabled by default. Then, we have seen skins that players can earn for free by having a high honor level. This way, there is a clear incentive to be a friendly player. Riot also added a feature where, whenever a player wrote something inappropriate in the chat, they would instantly get muted for the rest of the game.

Above are a few of the examples of Riot did in recent years to reduce the toxicity in the game. Even so, there is still an abundance of disruptive players who still plague the game. Due to this, Riot is still adding even more ways to punish these types of players.

With that said, 2025 season 1 will be one of the biggest League of Legends seasons as of yet. It will include a new battle pass system, as well as new Noxus-themed visuals for the Summoner’s Rift. League of Legends 2025: Honor System Rework

To put it briefly, Riot is adding restrictions and rewards based on what your honor level is. Meaning that, if your honor level is low, you will have various restrictions. On the other side, if your honor level is high enough, then you will gain a lot of new rewards. Here’s every single honor rank, and their specific restrictions or rewards.

• Honor Level 1
  • Restrictions:
    • Removed access to all chat, champ select chat and post-game chat.
    • No ranked split rewards.
• Honor Level 2
  • Restrictions:
    • Removed access to all chat.
    • No ranked split rewards.
• Honor Level 3:
  • Rewards:
    • Battle Pass XP drops.
    • Access to every chat channel.
    • Ranked split rewards.
• Honor Level 4:
  • Rewards:
    • Everything in Honor Level 3.
    • Increased Battle Pass XP drops.
    • The honor emblem appears on the loading screen.
    • More frequent pings and emotes are allowed.
• Honor Level 5:
  • Rewards:
    • Everything in Honor Level 4.
    • Maximum Battle Pass XP drops.
    • Honor emblem appears in chat.
    • Honor recall awarded.
    • Current and past Honor Skins unlocked.
