The Worlds Patch is approaching with Patch 14.18 on the horizon.
It’s that time of the year again, it is time for the League of Legends World Championship. Each year, the best teams from around the world come together culminating in the biggest Esports event of the year, the League of Legends World Championship.
This year’s Worlds will be kicking off on September 25th, and to shape the meta for the tournament, Riot is planning to release the highly anticipated Worlds Patch. This year’s Worlds Patch, Patch 14.18 from the looks of it, is packed with massive changes.
The biggest change coming in this patch is the changes to ADC. Most prominent ADCs are receiving nerfs. Their go-to keystone, Fleet Footwork, is also taking a massive hit, along with some items such as Bloodthirster and Immortal Shieldbow. Additionally, we’re seeing some shifts in the Jungle meta.
That said, we have a ton more changes to cover, so, without further ado, let’s dive into it.

When Does LoL Patch 14.18 Release?
League of Legends Patch 14.18 is expected to be released on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
LoL Patch 14.18 release time and server maintenance:
Champion Buffs
Ahri
Ahri has been absent from the meta for quite a while. So, Riot is trying to bring her back with some meaningful buffs to her E ability.
E – Charm
Gnar
Gnar is getting some buffs to his Base AD, which should make his early game significantly better.
Base Stats
Jarvan IV
An increase to Jarvan IV’s passive damage should make him better, especially in the early game 3v3 or 2v2 skirmishes.
Passive – Martial Cadence
Jax
These are some big buffs to Jax, especially to his late-game team fighting.
R – Grandmasters At Arms
Xin Zhao
Xin Zhao is getting some slight buffs to his armor growth.
Base Stats:
Champion Nerfs
Ivern
These Ivern nerfs won’t impact his viability buch but it should make him much more manageable.
E – Triggerseed
Leona
With these base armor nerfs, Leona should be much more vulnerable, especially in the laning phase.
Base Stats:
Nasus
The Patch 14.11 buffs made him a tad too strong. So, Riot is reverting some of the changes.
E – Spirit Fire
Rell
Similar to Leona, Rell is also getting some nerfs.
E – Full Tilt
Rumble
Both Rumble’s early-game damage and scaling are taking a hit. But he should still be a top tier pick in the Top Lane.
Q – Flamespitter
Zeri
Zeri has been the premier Marksmen in the Mid Lane for quite a while now. So, it’s no wonder she is getting some nerfs.
Passive – Living Battery
Ziggs
Ziggs turret taking speed taking a hit.
Passive – Short Fuse
Champion Adjustments
Viego
Viego is getting some buffs to his base AD. So, Sheen items such as Trinity Force should be a lot more viable on Viego.
Item Buffs
Luden’s Companion
Luden’s Companion has been a lackluster item since its release. Now after years, it is getting some well-deserved buffs.
Shadowflame
Shadowflame buffs, although are not as big as the Luden’s Companion buffs but it is a welcome buff nonetheless.
Stormsurge
Stormsurge is being buffed specifically for ranged champions.
Item Nerfs
Bloodthirster
Bloodthirster has been the biggest reason champions such as Miss Fortune are so strong. With the nerfs to its healing and shielding, should make the champions that rely on it quite weaker in comparison.
Immortal Shieldbow
Similar to Bloodthirster, Immortal Shieldbow is also getting some nerfs.
System Adjustments
Turret Fortifications
Lane-Swap has been a big part of the meta for the last couple of months. But it seems Riot isn’t a big fan of it, nor are most of the people who watch Esports. Thus Riot is buffing the Turret Fortifications pre five minutes to mitigate Lane Swaps.
Fleet Footwork
Marksmen have been running the meta for the last couple of months and the biggest reason behind it is the Keystone Fleet Footwork. The Keystone provides too much safety in the lane resulting in Marksmen thriving in all three lanes.
Which is why Riot is nerfing the keystones healing, especially for ranged champions.
Skins
There are two sets of skin releases coming in Patch 14.18. The first one is the Day Job skins, while the other is the new Mythic skin Crystallis Indomitus Nautilus.
Attorney Azir
Janitor Thresh
