VCT 2024 is going to start with a regional tournament. Here is everything about the VCT 2024 Pacific kickoff.

After a long break, the VALORANT Champions Tour is about to return. VCT 2024 comes packed with a bunch of new additions to the format. Ascension teams from the previous year will also join the battle. However, the most exciting one is probably the inclusion of China as an official region. With this, the number of regions reaches four.

To start the action-packed VALORANT season, teams will fight in their respective regional kickoff tournaments. The top two teams from each region will secure a spot for the first global event, Masters Madrid. However, the addition of championship points has made each match valuable for teams to secure a spot in the Champions.

2024 VCT Pacific Kickoff – All You Need to Know

CREDIT-RIOT GAMES

Among the four regions, the Pacific stands out for its strategically placed gameplay and unique approach. Most of the teams in this region come from the Asia-Pacific region. The remaining teams will arrive from South Korea and Japan.

In the VCT 2024 kickoff tournament, a total of 11 teams will duke it out for 9 long days in Seoul. Unlike previous years, the format is much more simplified for gamers and viewers alike.

Format

CREDIT-RIOT GAMES

• The 10 franchised and 1 Ascension team will be divided into 3 different groups, with two groups of 4 and 3 teams in group C.
• The best-performing team in the 2023 Champions will get a bye into the winner’s bracket for that group. For the China region, it will be Paper Rex.
• The teams will play all best of 3 GSL (double elimination) games.
• The top team from each group will go to the playoffs, while the second-place teams will qualify for the play-in stage. All the 2nd placed teams will play each other in a best of 3 for the last spot.
• The 4 qualified teams will then be seeded into the playoffs. The two finalists will qualify for the upcoming VCT Masters in Madrid. The winning team will also receive 3 Pacific Championship points.
