Riot has confirmed that custom announcer packs are not coming to League of Legends anytime soon.

Since the early arcade gaming days, announcers have been a very important part of games. Originally, they were implemented to draw attention to the specific game in the arcade. But as time went on, they became one of the primary tools to reward or hype up players when they do something encouraging. And announcers in League of Legends serve a similar purpose.

In League of Legends, we have only had one female announcer since the release of the game. And that announcer has been fine so far. Recently, with the release of the Arena game mode, we experienced a new announcer, which was also amazing.

But many years ago, Riot confirmed in a dev log that they would bring custom announce packs for players to purchase and use in League of Legends. However, years go by, and there are no comments about it. And players focused on the bigger issues that plagued the game overall.

Recently, Riot Games hosted an AMA in the League of Legends subreddit. Over there, a user named BlastTheKidd questioned if the honor system would be impactful in the future and for today’s topic when announcer packs are coming to the game. And Riot responded to this thread.

Announcer Packs In League of Legends

As stated before, a user asked in the AMA about when the announcer packs are coming to League of Legends. Riot responded to it, saying that announcer packs are very tricky to implement correctly.

The main reason for that is localization. They have to make sure that the announcer pack is available in all languages and sounds great in all of them.

And then she also added that Riot knows that players love them, and they are still exploring the announcer packs. But for now, the announcer packs are not released anytime soon. So, for now, we just have to wait and see.
