Apple lucreaza la o imbunatatire importanta pentru iOS 19, care ar putea simplifica transferul unui eSIM de pe un iPhone pe un smartphone Android. In prezent, utilizatorii pot muta rapid un eSIM intre doua iPhone-uri, insa trecerea catre un dispozitiv Android implica in continuare contactarea operatorului de telefonie. In case you've been living under a rock, memory prices have been rising at an astounding rate recently, thanks to an ongoing supply shortage, which is largely attributed to AI server demand swallowing up all the available DRAM modules. NAND flash is also in short supply, and so is... well, I'll let the CEO of Silicon Motion describe it better than I. Speaking during the company's most recent earnings call earlier this week, memory manufacturer chief Wallace C. Kou said: "We're facing [what has] never happened before, the HDD, DRAM, HPE, HBM, NAND, all in severe shortage in 2026. Most of our capacity [is] sold out." Kou also said that he'd spoken to other major manufacturers, and while he wasn't prepared to comment on their exact allocation policies, certain percentage distributions would be made between smartphones, PC, and automotive industries. Asetek, the company that invented the closed-loop liquid cooler for CPUs, has received an offer it can't refuse from CQXA Holdings, a subsidiary of Chinese electronic group Suzhou Chunqi, to fully take over the company. If successful, CQXA would pay 1.72 Danish Krone (around $0.27) per share to make up a total of 547.4 million Danish Krone ($85 million). When this was announced on November 25, 2025, shares from Asetek were valued at 0.82 Danish Krone, which means this offer represents a 110% increase on the price of shares alone. Asetek has been in a bit of a weird spot this year as a major watercooling patent expired in May, losing a key advantage it had in regards to liquid cooling. If, like me, you find the propensity for hardware manufacturers to plonk screens on everything somewhat baffling, though of course harmless, then perhaps you hadn't considered the possibility of, er, playing Battlefield 6 on said screens. Which is exactly what one Redditor has done: slapped the new AAA FPS title on one of those dinky little CPU cooler screens. The AIO in question looks to be an MSI MPG CoreLiquid P13 360, and yes, that cooler does actually let you use the screen as an extended display rather than just importing gifs or video files to replay on it. Which means this very likely is Battlefield 6 (BF6) actually playing on the little screen, rather than a streamed video or moving image. It doesn't look like the game's all too playable on the round screen, though—half of the HUD is cut off. Our Jacob Ridley discovered this HUD-chopping effect himself when he tried the cooler's hand at playing Doom in-browser. And hey, while we're cramming screens onto absolutely everything inside our PC cases, why not put them to use? Sometimes I wonder whether there's some small text asterisked alongside Moore's law stating that, as transistor density improvements peter off, PC gaming hardware manufacturers will look for increasingly ridiculous ways to impress us. Ways such as cramming screens onto everything. So yeah, why not? And given how well-optimised BF6 is, I can only assume it's running at about one million fps on such a tiny, tiny IPS screen at 480 x 480 resolution. Judging from the Redditor's other posts, they have an Intel Core i7 13700K and Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090, which might be slightly overkill for 480p. It's not listed on the official BF6 system requirements, but it seems an AIO extended display can run the game just fine. Well, a circular central portion of the game, at least. Perhaps a frustrating backup if your main monitor dies, at least. We can't seem to get a moment's respite in the PC gaming industry, can we? We spent the better part of this year lamenting ridiculously high GPU prices, and as soon as said prices finally start dropping, memory and storage prices start climbing. We're in a memory shortage right now, and this applies to both DRAM memory used for RAM and NAND memory used for SSDs, and it will likely also affect GPUs, too. This shortage means there's more demand than supply, which causes prices to rise. We're already seeing RAM prices skyrocket, and prices for SSDs and even GPUs could follow suit before long. We're keeping track of the latest changes to RAM prices here. The cause is mostly the newly booming AI industry, as AI servers require a lot of memory, both in terms of long-term storage and short-term system memory. And many of the same production facilities that make memory for these AI servers also make memory for our RAM, SSDs, and graphics cards, thus why there's an impact on PC gaming hardware. It's not even a debate: the best CPU for gaming by far is the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and that's been the case ever since it launched. And before that, it was the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. And before that... you get the picture. But, it seems that AMD is now quietly looking to dethrone its own top chip with a slightly improved version, dubbed the Ryzen 7 9850X3D. The CPU has just appeared on AMD's driver page (spotted by Olrak29) with zero fanfare and zero details. Love that for us—we get to speculate a bit. The truth is, we've already had some leaks about the 9850X3D in the last few months, so we have an idea of what to expect, but none of it has come directly from AMD. At least we now know the processor exists, so chances are that the specs are real, but you never know with these leaks. In fact, it's actually been quite surprising to see how many of the deals have stuck around since dropping well before Black Friday week started. I long thought of Mozilla Firefox as a good, mainstream, privacy-focused alternative to Google Chrome. I used it for quite some time, until the Google ecosystem became too all-encompassing to ignore. But over recent years, it seemed the yellow-tailed browser was becoming less privacy-focused after all, leaving it just like the other mainstream options. So it's good news, and perhaps vindication for those who were still holding out hope for Firefox, that it's expanding its fingerprint protections. By this, it means it's expanding its protections against websites linking you to a "secret digital ID" by "collecting subtle details of your setup—ranging from your time zone to your operating system settings—that together create a 'fingerprint' identifiable across websites and across browser sessions." Fingerprinting is pretty much standard practice for many sites today. You should never assume that just because you don't have an official account on a website, it doesn't identify you between visits and so on, sometimes even regardless of stored cookies. Dell revealed that we've fallen behind schedule on Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrades. Cue the surprised gasps, folks. In its most recent Q3 earnings call, Dell revealed that the Windows 11 transition is still underway, and it's actually a lot slower than the shift to Windows 10 was back in the day. When PC hardware companies all jump onto a bandwagon, it eventually becomes almost impossible to stand out from the crowd, because everyone's doing the same thing. Thermaltake must have realised this because its latest AIO liquid CPU cooler has taken cooler screens to a new level, but it's also given it a whole bunch of neat extra features. The cooler in question is the Thermaltake Minecube 360 Ultra ARGB Sync (via Hermita Akiba on X), and the name alone gives you all the clues you need to guess what the AIO cooler looks like, assuming you've not taken a gander at the images yet. Where most vendors have been content to add a single LCD screen to their AIO blocks, Thermaltake has added four individual displays to the Minecube: one facing straight up, and the other three forming a 'wrap-around' effect, starting on the rear IO side of the motherboard before finishing at the DRAM slots side.
