Behind seemingly ordinary images lie tragedies, mysteries, and disturbing events that continue to raise questions even today.

Here are five of the most unsettling examples.

👁️ 1. THE COOPER FAMILY PHOTO – MUSAFIRUL NEINVITAT

According to the legend, the family only noticed the terrifying figure after the photograph was developed.

But what's the truth? The story has no verifiable historical origin, and many believe the image was digitally manipulated.

🪜 2. THE AMITYVILLE GHOST BOY – COPILUL DIN ÎNTUNERIC

During a paranormal investigation at the infamous Amityville house in 1976, a photograph was taken that appeared to show a young child with glowing eyes staring out from the darkness.

The image fueled countless theories about the alleged paranormal activity inside the house.

However, there is no convincing evidence that the mysterious figure was actually a ghost.

🌊 3. THE SS WATERTOWN GHOSTS – CHIPURILE DIN OCEAN

FACES BENEATH THE WAVES

În 1924, doi marinari de pe petrolierul SS Watertown au murit într-un accident.

In 1924, two sailors aboard the oil tanker SS Watertown died in a tragic accident.

Shortly afterward, crew members claimed to have seen the men's faces appearing in the water alongside the ship.

A photograph taken during the voyage seemingly captured two ghostly faces floating on the ocean's surface.

The image became one of the most famous alleged ghost photographs in history, although its paranormal interpretation has never been proven.

The photograph appears to show a translucent woman descending the stairs.

According to local legend, the apparition is the ghost of Lady Dorothy Walpole.

Although the photograph remains famous, alternative explanations include double exposure and other photographic effects.

However, many photographs shared online as examples of post-mortem photography have been incorrectly identified.
