Top 20 players of 2025: Introduction

Mihai "⁠iM⁠" Ivan makes his second appearance as a Top 20 Player of the Year, having placed No. 16 last year after Natus Vincere's highly successful 2024 season.

The 26-year-old became the first Romanian to ever feature on the list as he crowned his arduous road through the local scene and eventual international transition in GamerLegion with a dream move to Natus Vincere, where he made history for his country by winning a Major.

Even though Natus Vincere couldn't repeat those highs in 2025, their consistent playoff appearances and iM's individual performances at the biggest events, which he achieved despite going through a huge role change in the summer following the team's change of Justinas "⁠jL⁠" Lekavicius and Drin "⁠makazze⁠" Shaqiri, netted him another Top 20 placing.
