Another wave of controversy hits the Apex community. A popular content creator in Apex Legends, Thordan Smash, was arrested during a livestream. While fans initially suspected that he was a victim of swatting, it was later known that the arrest was legitimate and Thordan was indeed arrested on an outstanding warrant. Afterward, people thought it might be related to his involvement with leaking content for Apex Legends. His content may have been a reason, as he talks about potential updates for the game. During a Livestream in December of 2023, Thordan was arrested on camera. Speculations obviously started, and it was mostly considered to be a swatting, where viewers put in false information and try to initiate a police raid on a streamer. However, the arrest was legitimate, and he was taken into custody. He was charged with second-degree assault and criminal mischief with a fine of up to $1,000. After his arrest and subsequent bail, he posted an update on Twitter regarding the developing situation. He also talked about evidence that he posted and took down for legal reasons, claiming his innocence. I understand the allegations being put out about me. Users on Reddit also suspected that the arrest was related to him working with leakers to post about Apex content before release. If so, the charges would see him leaking confidential information to the public. However, it is unrelated to his online persona. He is working towards clearing his name.
