Systems Neeko Boxes Developer Notes: It often punishes your economy when you get a Neeko's help from a Blue or Gold box, especially early in the game. So we’re adding gold rewards to those boxes that drop Neeko's. Blue Box: Neeko ⇒ Neeko + 2 Coins Gold Box: Neeko + 3 Coins ⇒ Neeko + 5 Coins Ties Developer Notes: Your final position in the standings will now be determined once all combat has ended, instead of immediately upon taking lethal damage. Lethal damage will now take players into negative health. Players who are eliminated in the same round will finish in order of: Least negative health total. If negative health is tied, most health in the round prior to elimination. In the unlikely event that both of the previous measures are tied (!), the final standings for those tied players will be determined randomly. Galaxies New Galaxy: Dwarf Planet - The first and last row of every board is disabled. Removed Galaxy: Little Little Legends. TRAITS Star Guardians Developer Notes:_ Star Guardians have too much of its power budget in the trait, so we’re pulling that power out and putting it back into the champions. This should allow some of them to succeed in other comps while maintaining the power of well-built Star Guardian compositions. Star Guardian Mana share: 25/40/55 ⇒ 15/25/45 Poppy Starting/Total Mana: 60/100 ⇒ 50/90 Zoe Starting/Total Mana: 70/100 ⇒ 40/80 Neeko Starting/Total Mana: 75/150 ⇒ 25/100 Syndra Starting/Total Mana: 0/60 ⇒ 0/40 Soraka Starting/Total Mana: 50/125 ⇒ 50/120 Janna Starting/Total Mana: 50/130 ⇒ 30/100 Other Traits Celestial Healing: 15/40/99% ⇒ 20/45/150% Cybernetic Bonus Health and Attack Damage: 350&40/600&75 ⇒ 300&35/550&70 Sorcerer Spell Power: 20/45/75 ⇒ 20/40/70 CHAMPION BALANCE Tier 1 Champions Jarvan Health: 650 ⇒ 700 Jarvan Attack Damage: 50 ⇒ 55 Jarvan Mana: 50/100 ⇒ 40/80 Jarvan Ageless Standard Attack Speed Bonus: 0.65/0.75/0.85 ⇒ 0.75/0.85/0.95 Xayah Attack Speed: 0.8 ⇒ 0.9 Tier 2 Champions Mordekaiser Health: 650 ⇒ 700 Mordekaiser Indestructible Damage: 50/75/125 ⇒ 75/100/200 Rakan Health: 600 ⇒ 700 Yasuo Total Mana: 90 ⇒ 80 Tier 3 Champions Ashe Health: 600 ⇒ 650 Ashe Attack Speed: 0.8 ⇒ 0.85 Ashe Enchanted Crystal Arrow Damage: 200/275/550 ⇒ 200/300/600 Ashe Enchanted Crystal arrow Stun Duration: 2/2/2 ⇒ 2/3/4 seconds Ezreal Attack Damage: 60 ⇒ 50 Ezreal Starting Mana: 50 ⇒ 30 Karma Inspire Shield: 250/400/800 ⇒ 300/450/900 Karma Attack Speed Boost: 50/75/125% ⇒ 70/90/150% Neeko Health: 800 ⇒ 850 Neeko Armor: 45 ⇒ 50 Shaco Total Mana: 80 ⇒ 70 Syndra Unleashed Power Damage (per orb): 100/125/200 ⇒ 100/140/220 Vayne Health: 550 ⇒ 500 Vayne Attack Damage: 60 ⇒ 50 Vi Assault and Battery Damage: 400/600/1200 ⇒ 350/550/1100 Tier 4 Champions Fizz Chum the Waters Damage: 450/600/5000 ⇒ 400/550/4000 Irelia Health: 800 ⇒ 900 Irelia Attack Damage: 70 ⇒ 85 Irelia Armor: 35 ⇒ 50 Irelia Magic Resist: 20 ⇒ 40 Irelia Bladesurge Damage: 175/250/500% ⇒ 225/250/500% Jhin Attack Damage: 80 ⇒ 85 Jhin Attack Speed: 0.85/0.9/1.1 ⇒ 0.9/0.95/1.2 Jhin 4th Shot Damage: 244/344/4444% ⇒ 350/500/4444% Jinx Attack Speed: 0.75 ⇒ 0.7 Riven Shield: 225/375/1000 ⇒ 200/350/1000 Viktor Death Ray damage (Second Part): 250/400/1500 ⇒ 200/325/1500 Tier 5 Champions Aurelion Sol Mana Drain: 15/25/50 ⇒ 10/15/50 Aurelion Sol Mobilize the Fleet Damage: 110/150/1000 ⇒ 90/150/1000 Janna Attack Speed Bonus: 100/150/500 ⇒ 80/125/500% Developer Notes: Urgot's getting a lot of changes and so....his own little section. The Beginner’s Guide to Teamfight Tactics Mobile Teamfight Tactics has finally arrived for mobile as the first Riot game you can play on your phone! In this article, we’ll give you a quick rundown of how you can play TFT mobile and share some tips and tricks to help you make the most of playing without a mouse and keyboard. If you’ve found this article as a brand new player, we strongly recommend checking out our TFT Absolute Beginners guide to help you learn the basic fundamentals of the game. For newcomers and veterans alike, you can find everything you need on our TFT blog: team comps, champ tier list, and item tier list. How to Download TFT Mobile Just like it’s original PC and Mac version, TFT mobile is free! You can currently download it for Android on the Google store or iPhone in the App store. Interface and Game Modes Before we get into the gameplay we’ll do a quick run through of the menu. Riot’s keeping things pretty simple in the first launch so the homescreen is quite bare for now. At the top right of the image below, the icons are as follows: Friends list (only let’s you see who’s online, no other functionality at the moment) Missions Notifications Settings (only has audio and general functions like signing out) On the left, you’ll be able to access rewards related to the Galxies Pass and finally, at the bottom right, you can change your game mode or jump right into the selected game mode by hitting Play. If you’re a beginner, definitely check out the handy tutorial that’s included – it’s a good way to learn the ropes of the basic gameplay. Once you hit Play, you’ll enter a lobby where you can invite your friends that are online by pressing one of the + signs. If you’re wondering, mobile players do crossplay with desktop players. In the center hub, you can select your aesthetics (Little Legends, arena skins, emotes, and booms). If you logged in with your usual account, these will be identical to the ones you have the desktop client. Once you have everything equipped you can jump into a game by hitting Start! In-Game Interface Riot did a great job designing all of the functions in TFT mobile in a way that’s compatible with small screens. Since you don’t have the usual hotkeys of a keyboard, there are new buttons and toggles to help you access what you need. The golden rule here is that if you want more information about something, when in doubt, just tap on it and it will likely expand. Champions, Items, and Synergies Some of you out there may already be experts on all the Galaxies champions and items but if you ever need a quick refresher you can just tap on a unit on the board. Doing so will allow you to see a summary of their stats, synergies, items, and ability. To go into more detail about their ability or items, just tap on them as you can see in the images above and below that are highlighting Jarvan IV’s Ageless Standard and his Chain Vest. This also works when you tap on units on your bench, all friendly and enemy champ units on the board, and the champions on your enemy’s bench. At the top left corner of your phone, you’ll see two icons, a hexagon, and a chest. This is a toggle between your board lineup’s synergies and the items on your bench. By default, it will show your team’s synergies. By tapping any synergy you’ll be able to see what the synergy does as well as which champions have it. In the example below, you can see that we have Jarvan IV, Mordekaiser, and Jhin as our three Dark Stars and we’re missing Karma, Lux, and Shaco. If you ever need a reminder of what champions you should be looking for in your shop and carousel rounds, it’s a good way to check. By tapping the icon at the top left, it will switch from your synergies to show your unequipped items on your bench. If you take a look at the image below, you can see a golden “2”. This number represents the number of unequipped items on your bench, in this case we have the Negatron Cloak and the Recurve Bow in the center of the image. Speaking of the Recurve Bow, here I am demonstrating how to preview which combination two items will create. Since I am hovering the Bow over the Chain Vest that Jarvan IV already has, I can see that it would make a Titan’s Resolve. A very important thing that I want to note here is that it will indicate the champion that will receive the item you’re hovering with. At the bottom of the expanded box, you can see Jarvan IV (Chain Vest + Recurve Bow) This is useful when you have many units and will help prevent you from accidentally equipping an item onto the wrong champ when things get more hectic. You can also test item combinations by hovering items on your bench as indicated by the image below. Unfortunately, you still can’t combine items on your item bench so you’ll have to do the trick of combining them on a champion you don’t want and then selling that champ to get the full item (assuming that the champion you want to give the combined item to already has a basic item). Economy and Experience: How to Buy, Sell, and Roll Next we’ll help you understand how to find everything you need to manage your economy and experience. At the bottom right corner of your phone, you’ll see a money bag with your current gold. Tapping the bag will allow you to open your shop during combat or hide it so you can see your board in between rounds. Directly above the bag, you’ll find the Refresh button, your roll probabilities for units, and the lock. If you’d like to buy any champ, just tap their portrait. If you want to buy XP, you can find that in the bottom left corner. If you ever want to sell a unit, just pick them up and you’ll actually be able to drag them to either of the bottom corners to give you more flexibility in a pinch. If you sell a unit that had items, they will return to your unequipped item section at the top left. Scouting and Stats At the top right corner of your phone, you’ll see a swords icon and a players icon. The players icon allows you to scout any player in the game by tapping on them. In the image below, you can see that we are scouting theManaTank as indicated by the yellow bar to the right of their name. To return to your board, you can press the blue icon at the bottom right corner. This blue icon also shows up during carousel rounds so you can return to look at what your team needs. Toggling to the sword icon allows you to see combat stats. At first tap, you’ll see the damage output of your team. By clicking the < arrow, you can expand to see the enemy team’s stats. The damage bars will also indicate the types of damage each unit is dealing. Red represents physical damage while blue represents magic damage. You can click on any champion’s portrait to see even more detailed stats. Just hit the > icon to close expanded windows or hit the sword icon to close it entirely and return to player health bars. The Fun Stuff: How to Emote This was the moment you were waiting for right? By hitting the smiley face icon at the top right, you can find your usual emoji sprays as well as your Little Legend expressions to maximze your BM or express sadness when you get unlucky. Naturally, just hit the X to close the emotes section ASAP. Tips for Ranked If you’re serious about climbing, you’ll probably want to play on your computer with a mouse and keyboard to maximize your efficiency and minimize your odds of fat-fingering on your phone. However, if you don’t have a choice or you’re set on playing ranked on your phone, here are some quick additional recommendations: Get comfortable and find an optimal set up for your posture and fingers to increase your precision. Play some normal games before jumping into ranked to make navigation second-nature. You don’t want to your split thinking power between figuring out where things are and thinking about game decisions. Make sure you have stable Wi-fi to limit your chances of DC’ing. This means you probably don’t want to play ranked while traveling in areas that may have tunnels or other things that may interfere with your connection. Lastly, make sure you have a solid amount of battery life. Results will vary depending on your phone but to give you an idea, I played a 30ish minute match on an iPhone XS starting at 72% energy with all my other apps closed. I ended the match at about 50% energy left over. That’s all for now folks! We hope you enjoyed this article and found it helpful. See you in TFT Galaxies! You can find everything you need on our TFT site: team comps, champ tier list, and item tier list. Let us know what you think of Teamfight Tactics on mobile in the comments below! Best TFT Comps for Patch 10.12 S-tier: Protector Combo = 3 Protector/Mystic, 2 Celestial/Dark Star S-tier: 6 Sorcerers = 6 Sorcerer, 3 Star Guardian, 2 Chrono A-tier: Bed & Breakfast = 4 Brawler, 3 Rebel A-tier: Korean Jhin = 2 Sniper/Vanguard/Mystic/Dark Star A-tier: Dark Star Snipers = 4 Dark Star, 2 Sniper/Vanguard/Mystic A-tier: 6 Cybernetic = 6 Cybernetic, 3 Blademaster, 2 Mana-Reaver/Chrono>/a> A-tier: Space Pirates = 4 Space Pirate, 2 Blaster/Demolitionist/Mana-Reaver B-tier: Shredder = 4 Celestial, 3 Blademaster, 2 Sniper/2 Chrono B-tier: Bomberman = 6 Rebel, 2 Demolitionist Protector Combo: S-tier With the new patch, Protectors have seen a resurgence in play as Urgot provides some much needed late game power. This comp, however, essentially requires a Spatula to do well in the late game. Protector ASol is extremely powerful late game, and will be something to look out for if you find an early spatula. Team comp description: Xin Zhao will carry till level 8 with a Warmog’s Armor and Bramble Vest. Your options for level 8 carries will be either a protector Asol or to use Jarvan and Karma to Boost Janna speed to create a chain reaction due to Spear of Shojin and the high attack speed. [How to play ] When to make: When you start with Warmog’s Armor. 6 Sorcerers: S-tier 6 Sorcerers saw a decent amount of play toward the end of 10.11, but it was more of a meme comp. With the addition of Riven, you now have a solid mid/late game carry to hold items for Gangplank. Additionally, Viktor also adds a strong and more consistent damage source than Vel’Koz previously. This comp does require a lot of spell power-related items, so it will be less consistent than comps that can use both attack damage and magic damage items. Team comp description: This comp looks to use 6 Sorcerers to have high burst quick into the round. The frontline is lacking in this comp, but with enough damage that won’t matter. Riven will be your primary frontline until you are able to find Gangplank. [How to play 6 Sorcerers] When to make: Go for this comp if you find yourself with lots of magic damage items like Rods and Tears. The comp uses Mech to transition, so if you find an early Fizz, that will also be a good indicator to try this comp. Bed & Breakfast: A-tier Brawlers and Blasters are still very strong, but with the change to Jinx (Rockets no longer apply on Blaster procs) this comp took a strong hit. Kog’Maw does allow for 4 blaster transitions and Gnar is also very powerful, so this comp will likely still be a strong choice for any game. Team comp description: Bed and Breakfast revolves around the blaster synergy that does immense damage even at only 2 blasters. 4 Blasters will be strong mid game, but late game you can also use a combination of Lulu/Sona or Gangplank/Ziggs for Rebels and Demolitionist/Mystic. [How to play Bed & Breakfast] When to make: If you find lots of bows and swords, you can look to build items for your blaster carries. If you start the game with a lot of brawler units, you can seamlessly transition into a blaster carry comp. Korean Jhin: A-tier Korean Jhin was popularized, as it’s called, in Korea. Jhin can be a very potent carry, and the change to Dark Stars allows him to gain more damage without too much investment into Dark Stars. However, he may fall off in the late game compared to other carries. Team comp description: Korean Jhin is very similar to Dark Star Snipers but the main difference is using GP as a secondary carry over Xerath. [How to play Korean Jhin] When to make: When you are playing snipers and you find GP before you find Xerath. Dark Star Snipers: A-tier With the change to Dark Stars, the comp now has much more freedom in terms of transitions. Xerath and Jhin complement each other very well as they deal different types of damage, making this comp a strong choice as well. Team comp description: This comp uses the Dark Star bonus to buff up powerful carries like Jhin and Xerath. Janna also adds great flexibility late game, providing either magic damage or attack speed buffs for the team. [How to play Dark Star Snipers] When to make: When you have a good start with Vanguards and items for Jhin. 6 Cybernetic: A-tier 6 Cybers got the addition of Vayne which allows them to hit 6 Cybernetic much easier. With more consistency, this comp will likely be popular on patch day as it is easy and familiar to play, but other comps just perform better in the late game unless you find Irelia 3. Team comp description: 6 Cybernetic plays very similarly to set 3, except with the addition of Vayne, it will be much easier to power spike before finding Ekko. Irelia is still the best carry for the team, so make sure to balance her items with other items you place on your Cybernetics. [How to play 6 Cybernetic] When to make: If you find early Cybernetic units or find an early Irelia. Items are quite flexible but especially if you start with lots of Sparring Gloves for Irelia you can look to streak to 8 quickly. Space Pirates: A-tier 4 Space Pirate comps have been somewhat of a meme in Set 3, but this new comp shows some potential as a strong meta comp. At level 8, you can add in units to compliment each of the Space Pirates, and have Chrono (2) on top of it. Unfortunately, this comp relies heavily on finding Gangplank in order to start getting more items. While Jinx will carry the mid/late game, Gangplank will be crucial to making it to the end game. Team comp description: This comp combines the 4 space pirates and uses the other 4 slots to match synergies with the Space Pirates. [How to play Space Pirates] When to make: This comp can be itemized and played quite flexibly in the early game, but you will have the easiest transition if you already have early Space Pirates. Finding an early Jinx will also help this build power spike. Shredder: A-tier Shredder still survives the nerfs and buffs, and will likely be a decent comp to play, but will not be as strong as the prime days of 10.10. An early Xayah start may farewell, but it’s uncertain whether hyper roll comps will be able to survive in the new meta. Team comp description: This comp looks to hyper roll to find 3 star units early game. Using Xayah 3 will carry the early game to hit level 8 and fit in things like celestial and sniper. [How to Play Shredder] When to make: Go for this comp if you find early copies of the core units and have a strong economy to hyper roll after Krugs. Make sure you can also make Infinity Edge and Last Whisper as they will be important for scaling late game. Bomberman: B-tier Ziggs wasn’t nerfed specifically, but with the Seraph’s change to Blue Buff, you won’t be able to stack mana on Ziggs anymore. Blue Buff and Luden’s Echo will still be a very strong early game, but the lack of consistency will push this comp down to B tier. Team comp description: This rebel comp hyper rolls the early game to carry with Ziggs and Malphite. With an early win streak, this comp looks to comfortably hit level 8 to find key units like Jinx, Gangplank, and Aurelion Sol. [How to play Bomberman] When to make: Go for this comp if you can start with early Tears. With the change to Seraphs, Blue Buff will still be a great early game item, but Ziggs won’t be as powerful late game. Methodology We evaluate compositions based on 3 key factors: Consistency: How well does this comp perform from game to game and how reliably can you build towards it given a reasonable start? Overall strength: If you do successfully complete the comp, how does it match up against other comps, especially those most prevalent in the meta? Flexibility: Can you make tweaks and adjustments to the comp while events unfold differently in game? These events include item luck, roll luck, and enemy units. The combination of these three factors allows us to define team compositions as S, A, or B. The ones that have all three will lean toward S, those that are pretty good but may be lacking in some areas will lean towards B.
