  1. PUBG patch 10.2 has hit the testing realm recently and it looks like this is going to shake things up quite a bit, especially with the extremely fast new car on the road. Coupe RB is set to come to PUBG with 10.2 and the car not only looks great but it appears to be one of the best performers around. While it's only a two-seater, the Coupe will be the second-fastest land vehicle, behind the bike, clocking the speeds of up to 150 kilometres per hour. That pretty much describes what the car can or will be used for. As for availability, Coupe RB will be spawning on Erangel, Miramar and Sanhok, which should have enough road for the swifty to show off its qualities. While certainly a highlight, it is not the only one that is marking 10.2. Reputation will also debut in the same patch and will consist of ranks from zero to five, meaning there are six levels in total. The higher the rank, the more enjoyable the player is to have in a team so it's pretty straightforward when it comes to understanding the system. Positive feedback from teammates and generally playing the game will increase your reputation while reports and negative behaviour like killing teammates or leaving matches will decrease the rep. Cheating reports do not affect reputation, but should they prove to be correct and the player indeed gets banned, their reputation will suffer greatly. full patch notes that are live on the testing server through the announcement on Steam. 2. Hello Survivors, A big question we’ve seen the last few months is what our plans are for PUBG on the next generation of consoles. Today, we’re happy to announce that PUBG will be playable on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5 from day one! If you are a current-gen PUBG Console player, you’ll be able to continue playing the game on next-gen consoles at no extra cost with the same PUBG account you’ve been playing on all this time. All of your game account progress and cosmetics will carry over with no interruptions. In addition to PUBG being playable from day one on next-gen, we will also be supporting cross-generation multiplayer alongside cross-platform play. This means that players on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 consoles will be able to squad up and play against each other on the battlefield. Please see below for specifics around performance and technical details: Xbox Series X/S The Xbox Series X will leverage the Xbox One X game build. The game will run at 60 FPS by selecting the Framerate Priority option*. The Xbox Series S will leverage the Xbox One S game build, which runs at 30 FPS. We are working to provide an option to raise the framerate cap on Xbox One S and Xbox Series S consoles in the future. PlayStation 5 PlayStation 5 will leverage the PlayStation 4 Pro build. By selecting the Framerate Priority option*, the game will run up to 60 FPS. *Framerate Priority option releases on live servers for Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro with the October 9.1 Update. After rigorous testing, we’re pleased to say that the game performance is extremely smooth and stable, with faster loading and little to no frame drops thanks to the power of next-gen. For more information around backwards compatibility, please visit the official PlayStation and Xbox websites. Game performance and stability is a priority for us and we want to thank everyone for their support. This is an exciting time for console players everywhere, and we hope to ring it in with you with plenty of chicken dinners! See you on the Battlegrounds, PUBG Console Team Source: pubg.com

  7. New Map: Paramo Cradled hidden among the clouds in the highlands of South America lies Paramo, an ancient land with ancient secrets. Paramo’s dangers are plentiful, but none so dangerous as the active volcano nearby whose molten lava streams flow across the land. Survivors dropping onto the Paramo Battlegrounds will only be able to reach the highlands via helicopter, which also have the task of distributing Care Packages around the field. Paramo is a 3×3 map with a dynamic world new to PUBG. This dynamic world system alters locations between matches, making every trip to Paramo a unique experience. Read on for the full details! Seasonal Match Due to our new Dynamic Map Locations system, Paramo will be provided as a Seasonal Match separate from current matchmaking pool. Paramo is provided as a Seasonal Match exclusive for Season 9 only. Seasonal Match will have bots disabled. Seasonal Match will not count for your Career > Stats. Seasonal Match will have the Battlestat feature disabled. Seasonal Match will allow you to complete missions. Paramo Map Rules 3×3 km playable area with dynamic map locations. 64 Players TPP Squads Only No Red Zones The Blue Zone shrinks slowly, but deals more damage compared to other maps, even in the early phases of the match. Motorcycles are the only vehicle available on Paramo and can usually be found near small villages. Paramo: New Features Dynamic Map Locations Major landmarks and parts of terrain are relocated in every new session. Players must adapt and use suitable strategies and tactics according to the changes. Several streams of lava flow from active volcanoes throughout Paramo, presenting a unique environment hazard as you traverse across the map. Stepping foot in lava can lead to a quick death, dealing 10 damage per second to players, ticking every half second. Riding a Motorcycle into lava will destroy your tires and quickly begin to destroy the vehicle, whilst also dealing damage to the player. Unlike other maps, players can wander outside the bounds of the playable area and a warning will display on screen. Failure to quickly return to the playable area will result in you being killed. New item boxes can now spawn in certain houses. Destroy the boxes to find multiple pieces of loot, such as ammo, throwables, and healing items. Players will drop into the Battleground of Paramo from helicopters. During the match, these helicopters carry precious cargo across the map, with the plan of dropping it just outside the play area. Pay close attention and if you shoot enough rounds into a helicopter, you’ll force it to release the cargo early. Paramo has a handful of Care Packages exclusive, highland themed items not found on other maps, including new full-body camo suits, ghillie suit and backpack. Ranked Mode Ranked Mode just got a little more solo friendly with the introduction of Ranked Solo queue. You’ll now be able to take on the Ranked Battlegrounds against other solo players as you climb the competitive ranks. Season 9 Begins A new ranked season has begun. Ranked rewards earned from Season 8 will be granted to your account upon login. Player ranks have been reset Players will be given their initial rank after 5 placement matches. RP has been soft-reset, so your initial Season 9 placement will be influenced by your Season 8 rank. Leaderboards have been reset Final player ranks and the regional Top 500 leaderboards will be finalized once live server maintenance is complete, to ensure all matches are accounted for. View your Season 8 stats and the Top 500 leaderboards of each region under Career > Stats Ranked Game Mode Updates Ranked Solo Solo matches have been introduced to Ranked Mode. These matches will have the same competitive qualities as Ranked Squad matches. 64 players No Red Zones More loot Erangel, Miramar, Vikendi and Sanhok only Ranked Leaderboard Changes For the following regional modes, we’re lowering the minimum rank required to display on the leaderboards from Diamond 2 to Gold 5: Europe TPP Solo and Squads Russia TPP Solo and Squads FPP Solo and Squads North America FPP Solo and Squads South America FPP Solo and Squad TPP Squads This change has been made to ensure each region has a sufficient percentage of their player base displayed on the leaderboards Ranked Mode Ruleset Updates Algorithm Update Points earned per kill and assist have been increased by 50%. Sanhok Blue Zone Adjustment Compared to other maps, the number of players who die in Phase 2 is very high. We’ve made some Blue Zone changes which we believe will improve the overall pacing of Sanhok matches. Increased the size and waiting time of Phase 2 Removed the dynamic Blue Zone mechanic which scaled circle speeds based on the number of players alive. Please note, these changes are only to Ranked Sanhok matches. Item SpawnsIncreased AR/DMR Magazines spawns Increased 4x, 6x and 8x spawns Increased Canted Sight spawns Slightly decreased the spawn rates of 2x and 3x scopes Decreased Handgun/SMG Magazines spawns Decreased Handgun spawns, along with 9mm and .45ACP ammo Vehicle spawns Esports vehicle spawn locations will now always spawn a vehicle. Care Packages MG3 has been added Care Packages on all Ranked maps Regional Matchmaking Changes This update to regional queues adds a Solo option to Ranked. In addition, we will now begin adjusting the available queues on a per region basis in an effort to deliver the best experience possible to each region. When players go to select a game mode in either normal or ranked sections, they will see that the options that are available will be different. At a minimum, the changes will include the addition of a solo ranked option, but depending on region they may see different combinations of options available in terms of team size, perspective, and ranked/normal matches. The PUBG team are working on plans to allow players feel more free to choose their weapons based on their surroundings or strategic goals. With this 9.1 update, we will be making some adjustments to Beryl and SLR. Please note that this won’t be the last update and we will continue to have in-depth monitoring and analysis to provide best gameplay experience. Beryl M762 Base damage reduction: 46 → 44 Increased vertical recoil of early spray by 5% Increased horizontal recoil of early spray by 5% Slightly increased the minimum horizontal recoil SLR Based damage reduction: 58 → 56 Increased recoil during ADS by 5% Increased loss of bullet velocity by distance by 15% G-COIN G-Coin has been introduced to PUBG. G-Coin will function as the new currency for PUBG purchases. To read more about G-Coin, please read our G-Coin launch announcement. Survivor Pass: Highlands Survivor Pass: Highlands loads you up with the looks you need to explore Paramo’s mysteries. Unlike previous passes, Highlands will run for a reduced duration of 2 months but is also easier to complete with only level 50 needed to receive all its rewards. Drop in early to hit the ground running and claim your great Paramo-themed rewards. Survivor Pass: Highlands will be available for 990 G-Coin or $9.99 with Steam Wallet funds. You can earn 1,000 G-Coin through collection of rewards in the Survivor Pass. Yes, that’s correct, collecting all the G-Coin rewards mean earning the pass for free! Unlike previous passes, Survivor Pass 9 has a reduced duration of 2 months with a total of 50 levels. QoL improvements Missions Missions XP is now automatically claimed upon completion. Once a mission is complete, you’ll see a MISSION COMPLETED animation the first time you return to the pass. Pass Reward and XP Visibility Upon returning to the lobby after a match, you’ll immediately see an animation of XP earned filling the Survivor Pass bar. Claimable rewards are animated and highlighted to better display which rewards are ready to collect. Daily, Weekly and Challenge missions can now be viewed in the lobby without having to dive into the pass page. Preview Improvements You can now preview multiple items on your character at once, while on the Survivor Pass page. You can now preview emotes while also wearing skins you wish to preview at the same time. Weekly Missions Now all players will be able to claim weekly missions. There are total number of 7 weekly missions. Weekly missions are now grouped by difficulty, giving XP based on how challenging they are. Performance Character animation preloading has been added to improve performance This will result in shorter loading when entering matches and slightly reduced instances of hitching. Although, as the game now loads character animations when first launching PUBG, there will be a slight increase in loading time upon launch. Selectable resolution in Fullscreen Borderless Mode You can now select your resolution while using Fullscreen Borderless mode and your render scale will adjust automatically to correlate with the selected resolution. Changing the display mode to ‘Borderless’ mode from ‘Fullscreen’ or ‘Windowed’ will have the Render Scale automatically set to 70. You can readjust the render scale above 70 if desired. UX/UI New Feature: News Page We’ve added a new News page to the client, which will include helpful info on game contents, promotions, maintenance as well as community messages. All the PUBG info you need in one convenient spot! The News page replaces rolling banners previously located in the top left corner of the lobby. The Patch Note icon at the top right corner of the lobby now opens the News page, which also contains the patch notes. Lobby Menu Improvements Enhanced the visuals and navigation of the menu. Added ESC shortcuts to the navigation menu. ESC will return you to the most recent PLAY menu. From the PLAY menu, ESC will open the System Menu In-game Store Improvement Along with general navigation bar upgrades, we have also revamped the in-game store for a better experience. Rather than simple crate images, now item sets are displayed with unique key art. Customize Menu Improvement The structure and layout of the customize menu has been revamped. Categories have been combined to provide quicker and easier navigation. Overall menu structure and layout improvement Category home menu has been deleted for quicker access Streamlined the excess amount of categories (e.g. vehicles) Number of items displayed on the screen has been increased Enhanced searching tools Items earned most recently will be now filtered to top Search filters has been applied to more categories Added on-off toggle to show or hide face accessories when accessing appearance category. New UI and text has been added to clearly state the player’s current status. Other UI Updates New emote volume control slider has been added under Settings > Audio > Sound > Gameplay section.

  11. Hello Survivors, As a follow up to our Console Dev Focus 2020 letter, we wanted to provide an update on console performance and our short-term goals in this area. As we mentioned in the focus letter, finding balance between game stability, higher frame rates, and graphical quality is something we are constantly working on. However, we know that our players on newer generation consoles, specifically the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro, have been wanting the current frame cap to be lifted so that these consoles can achieve higher frame rates when playing PUBG. While we are actively looking into the feasibility of lifting the frame cap, there are a few challenges with this. If we removed the frame cap right now, this will result in a wider fluctuation in frame rates. An example is when you experience frame drops while you are in more intense battles or situations where there’s a lot going on at once. Therefore, we will be reinforcing our entire production pipeline in order to achieve steadier frame rates before we unlock the frame cap. In addition to reinforcing our production pipeline, the console dev team is looking to implement Performance Mode in Summer 2020. This mode would be a true performance mode for those who want as many frames as possible, and would lower some graphics quality settings, including screen resolution. We know this has been a feature that has been requested by our community for a long time, so we want to make sure we hit the perfect balance between increased frame rates and visual quality. We’re looking to test this feature through selective audiences (such as focus tests, PUBG Partners tests, etc.) before releasing on live servers, so stay tuned for further updates. Please let us know what other updates you’d like to see from the console dev team, we’re always listening and want to maintain open communication with our players as much as possible. Thanks for your support and we’ll see you in the dev letter! Hello Survivors, It’s been just over two years since we launched PUBG on consoles starting with Xbox Game Preview. Since then we’ve launched 1.0 on Xbox and PS4, introduced Cross Platform Play last October, and with Update 6.2 in February we added Cross Party Play, allowing Xbox and PS4 players to squad up together and get those Chicken Dinners. There have been many challenges faced and conquered along the way, and we have many more to embrace and overcome. To that note, we’d like to share what we are focusing on for Console PUBG in 2020: Improve quality control to provide stable performance continuously Reduce the content gap between PC and Console even further Console specific balance adjustments to better suit the console environment Strengthen anti-cheat detection and DDoS defense Provide better and new ways of communication to our players Performance In 2019, our goal was to solve fundamental performance issues for the console version of PUBG. Problems like rendering and low average FPS were our first priorities to tackle. Rendering especially was a problem where players were seeing “play-doh”-like (unfinished/unrendered) buildings upon landing which could take a long time to fully render in. While we have made big improvements in these areas of performance, there are still other problems that we need to solve. For example, crashing is currently an issue. We have been providing new content and updates each month since launch, which means the size of the build has continuously increased. There is a set amount of memory that can be processed, but an increase in content means that there is more that needs to be processed, which reduces the size in unused memory. This has been causing crashes in some instances. We’re focusing on fixing this issue by optimizing the build to use less memory. Onwards, we aim to provide a better game service by improving our quality control to make sure that any new content that is added to the game is fully optimized to not cause any critical issues. Hitching is another issue that has plagued our game – more so recently. Update 7.1 will bring fixes for two instances of hitching caused by 1) loading certain skins and 2) achievements. Unfortunately, this won’t solve all instances of hitching, but our engineers are hard at work to optimize many different areas of the game to reduce hitching throughout, and we’ve recently restructured our engineering organizations to dedicate an entire team to work on resolving such issues. Finally, we know that our players want a stable framerate all around the game no matter which device they are playing on. At the same time, we know that others prefer an improvement in graphical quality. We’re looking at balancing both high framerates and graphics but of course, providing stable framerate is key no matter what. We’ll be tuning up Dynamic Resolution to provide better quality resolution as well as framerate. We also see many requests for a higher frame cap of 60 frames per second. While we’re actively looking for ways to implement this, there are challenges ahead. Any concrete progress and updates on this will be shared. PC & Console Content Gap Although the time frame gap between PC and Console content has been reduced to a maximum of 2 weeks, there are still some features that the console community has been missing out on. We will first start out with working on making custom matches a more robust experience, starting with adding new modes – like the highly requested Esports Mode that we added recently in March. We’re also aware that more customization options for custom matches is something that our community has been asking for a long time. Players will be able to decide on the spawn rate, damage, and other detailed options. However, we are looking into how this affects performance, as too many weapons and vehicles could cause stability issues. We are also planning to add a dedicated Observer Mode for everyone to help grassroots competitions, but this will take some time to develop. Allowing all resources to be loaded while the camera is moving at a high speed is one of the challenges that we need to overcome. Lastly, PUBG LABS will be available to console players in 2020. We’ll be making sure console players do not miss out on LABS content where they will be getting the first experience of some new upcoming features. Console Specific Balancing We’ve constantly been hearing feedback about vehicle and weapon balancing issues, with these issues often times being specific to consoles. For vehicles, some of the balance-related work we’ve already done for console was to provide bullet penetration to vehicles on thin metals. Our further plan on vehicles is to reduce collision damage taken when in vehicles, as there are some instances where players take too much damage compared to the actual force of the impact. Also, this is still an idea we’re exploring, but we’re considering tuning the hit points and speed of our vehicles on consoles, as the ability to land shots on vehicles is much more difficult on consoles than on PC. As for weapons, we’re aware that some of our players think that some weapons are particularly more overpowered than others. But as of now, there is a single universal multiplier applied to the recoil of all our weapons, and basically, the recoil on console is set to half of what it is on PC. In order to be able to balance weapons individually, we need to be able to split the data on our weapons between consoles and PC. However, to make our guns act and feel as realistic as possible, there is a lot of code that is tied to our weapon data, meaning that splitting weapon data must be done very carefully. We’ll be sure to share more news on console vehicle and weapon balancing down the road in 2020. In the meantime, we’ve been seeing your feedback on the M249 being too overpowered and have decided to increase the recoil on the M249 by 50%. This will be in effect as of Console Update 7.1. We’re aware that there are some players who want the M249 to go back into care packages, and this is something the dev team is actively exploring alongside other balancing options. Please let us know your feedback about the recoil change, and we’ll make sure your voices are heard in our internal discussions. Anti-Cheat & DDoS Defense Regarding anti-cheat, many of our console players are suggesting more strict anti-cheat measures from the dev team. Anti-cheat is a very complex and ever-changing area that needs to be constantly updated and improved. We have been banning players using logs and detection system implemented in the build. We’re banning users daily with suspicious logs such as killing multiple players in a short amount of time, as well as from investigating community submitted tickets. Our detection system looks at actions from users and checks if there is any suspicious behavior such as character movement and aim that could be hard to achieve using controllers. But we know there are still a lot of baddies out there, and we’re looking to implement new processes that will allow us to detect such malicious players in more diverse ways. There are also some of the anti-cheat features on PC that the console community want us to bring to console. Again, there are challenges in this area due to having to make sure it is compliant with the console environment. But in the meantime, we will be focusing on research and development of anti-cheat measures specifically for the console community. One such area is radar hacks – or packet-based cheating – and we know how much frustration this has been causing our community. We haven’t been resting on our laurels though, and have been testing out many different solutions to put an end to radar hacks. We don’t want to give out sensitive information for our cheaters to abuse, but simply put, we need to find a packet encryption solution that is compatible with all our console platforms. Implementing the wrong solution could cause crashes and jeopardize the stability of our builds. Judging by where we’re at in terms of our research, we’re targeting Q2 2020 at the earliest for implementing a solution. Another area we’ve been focusing on for the last few months is DDoS(distributed denial-of-service) attacks. Many online games are forced to deal with DDoS attacks from time to time, and our servers have been no exception to this. When a game server is under attack by DDoS attacks, all players who are in the server almost certainly face connection issues such as network delays, a significant ping increase, and severe packet loss. Unfortunately, our servers have been increasingly targeted for these attacks. Last November, the intensity of the attacks increased to a level we hadn’t experienced before, which increased again in February. Our dev team has been increasing our DDoS defense solutions, working with various server infrastructure providers and analyzing their effectiveness in order to protect our game servers and provide a more stable service. At the same time, we’re working on our own defense system specifically designed to protect PUBG’s game servers. While testing various DDoS defense solutions from external infrastructure providers, server locations were often located far away from standard locations, which resulted in increased ping and other network issues for some players. Additionally, many players have suffered constant packet loss issues due to the experimental DDoS defense solutions deployed by these providers. We know that we could have been much more open in communicating these reasons with you, but did not want to contaminate tests and results by letting the attackers know we were doing this testing. Regardless, our sincere apologies to players who experienced ongoing connectivity issues during this time. The good news is, our recently developed internal solution has reduced the impact of DDoS attacks. This is and will remain an ongoing issue, but our dev team will also continue to work on and implement additional measures to mitigate the impact of DDoS attacks when they occur. DDoS server attacks are a serious crime and we’ve been gathering all information we can to take legal action against the perpetrators. Communication In 2020, one of the dev team’s top priorities is coming up with ways to better communicate with our players. We’re aiming to pursue an “Open Dev” philosophy, where we give our community a deeper look into what the dev team is working on, as well as provide better understanding of what our intentions are as we service our game. This not only includes regular updates on how we’re progressing on console-specific features and improvements, but also more transparent and speedy progress updates on how we’re tackling live service issues. You’ll be seeing these changes roll out in the coming months, and we hope these changes will bring our community and developers closer – change by change. We wanted to sign off with a note of gratitude for you, our community. We hope that during these uncertain times, our community and all of your loved ones have been staying safe and healthy. We are humbled to be able to provide a space where our players can find a sense of fun and escape, and have a means to be social while still staying safely apart. We are working hard this year to make PUBG on consoles the best that it can be and we are grateful to have such a passionate community that plays our game. As always, thank you for your continued support, and see you on the Battlegrounds!

  13. Hey everyone, Last year, we introduced Cross-Platform Play for PUBG on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, which allowed players from each platform to be matched into the same matchmaking pool. Today, we are thrilled to announce that we are taking it a step further in our goal of unifying our console communities. The new Cross-Party Play feature will be implemented with Update 6.2, granting the ability for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players to party up together. Now, you won’t just be matched against players on the other platform, but you’ll be able to party up and drop as a squad. With Cross-Party Play, you’ll be able to: Party up with players on other console platforms Search for, friend, and/or invite players on other console platforms Mute players from other console platforms in the lobby and during a match Join the same custom match created on either platform The Friends list is receiving an overhaul with Cross-Party Play. Depending on the platform that you play on, you’ll see your Xbox Live or PlayStation+ Friends at the top, with Friends from the other platform indicated under “PUBG Friends.” It’s here that you’ll be able to search, friend, block, and invite players from both consoles. In addition, you’ll see a Recent tab that displays players who you recently played with. Before we wrap up, we wanted to show you a sweet infographic with facts and data about Cross Platform Play that you might not have known. We hope you enjoyed the hot takes from Cross Platform Play! Now, gather your friends on both Xbox and PS4 because it’s time to party like never before and drop into the Battlegrounds — together.
  15. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a popular game, and with that attention comes something else — cheaters. The mobile version of the battle royale is particularly rife with fraudsters, which has led to thousands of bans every day. To better combat that situation, Tencent Games and PUBG Corp. have launched something called Project Ban Pan, and this video about it sheds some light on how the studio catches cheaters. The trailer is admittedly very dramatic, but it’s worth watching because it’s based on an actual situation, Tencent said in a news release. At first, PUBG Corp. received a variety of reports on a player, but when they looked into his gameplay, everything seemed fine. It wasn’t until the developer took a closer look at what happened toward the end of the player’s matches that they noticed something was amiss. Apparently, this cheater wasn’t using a specialized tool or anything like that. Instead, they were using two ordinary mobile devices. One phone was used to start and play most of the match. Midway through, the cheater would then log in on the second phone, and in doing so, would trick the system into believing he was experiencing connection issues. This would create an opening that allowed the player to kill opponents with ease. Fortunately, though, the cheater was caught, and is now forbidden from playing the game for the next 10 years. RELATED PUBG maker apologizes for months of problems, partly blames DDoS attacks Approximately 95% of violations are punished by real-time banning by security system automatically, while players can also report any suspicions to build a larger software database, which also helps with imposing offline punishment, Tencent’s news release says. “Outside of the game, the PUBG Mobile Safety Station website offers a place for players to report suspicious behavior more effectively and verify that punishments have been handed out as a result of their joint efforts.” Project Ban Pan also introduces a Death Replay function that goes live on March 3, which will allow fans to see how they were killed from the viewpoint of the opponent. The hope is that by providing this tool, players will be able to better determine if trickery was afoot. According to the studio, said reports have noticeably decreased recently thanks to new anti-cheating methods. Currently, about 8,000 accounts are banned for 10 years every single day,” the release added. Sursa : Pubg.com
  16. PC Update 6.2 - Patch Notes Season 6 is in full-swing! Best hope the intensity and explosive gameplay of Karakin has you ready for our newest heart-pumping, non-stop action game mode- Team Deathmatch The long-requested Team Deathmatch mode has now arrived! Intense 8v8 FPP fights on 7 different battlefields pulled from your favorite maps. TDM features classic PUBG gunplay and mechanics with all the fun and action of respawning back into the fight. The boost gauge functions differently in TDM and fills by scoring kills and assists, restoring your health after you haven’t received damage for 5 seconds. The team with the most kills in 10 minutes, or the first to reach 50 kills wins the round, with 2 round wins securing the match victory. Grenade Changes Frag Grenades Vests now mitigate damage received from Frag Grenades, but vest durability isn’t reduced when taking damage from Frags. Damage mitigation amount is dependent on the level of vest worn by the player, with the same % reduction as for bullet damage. Frags will deal 20% less damage to prone players. Item weight increased by 50%. Each Frag Grenade now takes 27 inventory capacity, up from 18. Pulling the pin of a Frag is now louder and audible from further away. Smoke Grenades Decreased fuse time from 3 seconds to 1 second. Stun Grenades Increased indirect hit effect radius Up to 6.5m, from 5.5m. Ringing sound now impacts players through walls This matches the Frag Grenade mechanic, although the impact effects a smaller radius. Added slight camera shake to players near the explosion. Default fuse time mechanic: Stuns now explode 0.7 sec after first impact, or after fuse timer runs out, whichever comes first. Fuse time without cooking has been increased to 5 sec. 2.5 second fuse timer when cooking the stun remains unchanged. Molotov Cocktail Increased the speed at which fire spreads by 50%. Fire can now spread slightly further, with an increased damage radius. Changed the way fire spreads around objects. Fire will now more consistently reach the back side of objects (especially thin objects like trees). Re-introduced direct damage while standing in fire, in additional to existing damage over time. Players in fire will now take an additional 10 damage per second Fire now reaches higher and should be obstructed less by small objects. Frag and Stun Grenade visual effects have also been updated, alongside a more realistic Frag Grenade sound Right Peeking/Leaning Historically, when moving to the right around objects in PUBG (without peeking/leaning), much less of your character was shown than if you moved out to the left. This recently received increased visibility in the community, leading to players using this mechanic to their advantage more often, which has led to some frustration. This mechanic is closely tied to the fundamental design of the PUBG gunplay system, making it difficult to resolve the issue completely without potential adverse changes to the feel of PUBG gunplay. With that said, as we announced earlier this month in response to community concern, we’ll be making a change in this patch to reduce the advantage gained when peering at your opponent from the right side of objects, by exposing more of the player model. Players viewing their opponent from the right side of objects will now have more of their body exposed Player’s head will lean slightly more towards the scope when ADS, so that character’s head is more exposed Made adjustments to some weapons to have characters body be more exposed when peering to the right of objects We will continue to monitor community feedback regarding this change. Karakin Changes A few weeks ago, we implemented a loot adjustment for Karakin based on player feedback. Since then we’ve been monitoring games to determine if any further adjustment needs to be made and a couple things have stood out to us. First, healing items are still a bit too hard to find for how frequently people are fighting. Second, Snipers and DMRs are really strong on Karakin. We’re going to try an updated loot setting that will increase meds, while reducing bandages, SRs, DMRs, and the Win94. We know many of you prefer these guns on Karakin, but we feel that Karakin needs a little more risk for the reward of these weapons. To help mitigate this adjustment a bit, we’re adding the G36C and MP5K to Karakin as requested by many of you when Vikendi started its vacation. Also, we have adjusted the care package airplane speed to move faster across the island. Of course, your feedback is essential here. Try out the new settings and let us know how everything feels. Is it worth it for you to spend more time searching to get that SLR? Do matches feel more competitive without as many long range weapons? Let us know so we can continue to adjust! G36C and MP5K have been added to Karakin Spawn rate of First Aid Kits and boost items have been increased Spawn rate of bandages has been decreased Spawn rate of DMR, SR and Win94 on Karakin has been decreased Increased care package airplane speed to move faster across the island Adjusted Blue Zone effects Distortion effect has been removed Altered effect where the Blue Zone meets the ground, to more clearly identify the Blue Zone edge Lowered the top wall of the Blue Zone Updated visual shaders Effects will become more intense as phases progress Changed sounds for entering and exiting the Blue Zone Blood Effects Visibility Improvement Increased blood color saturation over distance for better visibility Added distance scaling to blood effects Parachute ‘Follow’ Feature Added parachute follow feature to help teammates land together During the pre-match countdown, follow UI will be shown at the bottom left of the screen. Open the map to select a teammate to follow. You can still select a teammate to follow up until exiting the plane. After selecting a teammate to follow, you can cancel on the map screen, or also by holding F while in the plane, or while actively following a player in your parachute. If you’re obstructed by terrain or an object, your follow will be cancelled. LABS: Skill Based Rating – Second Test A big thank you to all the players who checked out PUBG Labs and took part in the first test earlier this year! We’ve poured through all your feedback and other data from the test and have made the following changes: Players will need to complete 5 placement matches to earn a rank in the new test. The highest initial placement rank is Platinum 4 (2600 RP). The overall algorithm used has been tuned based on data and feedback from the first test. Assists now influence your rating. Assists are considered to be the same value as Kills for the purpose of RP gains and losses. Any kills resulting from friendly fire will count as negative kills The maximum amount of RP that can be gained or lost after a match is now dynamic per tier, with lower tiers having a larger cap than higher tiers. The expected performance of players in the Master tier will now increase at every 100 RP above 3500, making it much more difficult to climb in Master tier the higher a player rises The highest RP a player can reach is now 5000.
