And now, the layoff chain hits Respawn. Although the news of EA’s massive layoffs appeared to be exclusive to the parent company, the studios are also being impacted. According to a recent post from alphaINTEL, the development team for Apex Legends has recently been hit by layoffs. Last year, during the same quarter, EA laid off over 100 Apex Legends testers via Zoom call. However, it is still unclear whether EA had any direct involvement in the recent layoffs. Layoffs have hit the Apex Legends development team. Unclear how many staff have been affected.One staff member said: "The way I was treated was so cold and inhumane during the process today.
